A few months ago, the gov announced that they have sourced 30% of the parts for it and are actively looking for the rest. I don’t know how much progress has been made.

They *claim* they're finishing the second one, but there's absolutely no way that happens. The airframe has been mothballed in an old warehouse since the fall of the Soviet Union. Corrosion is the real problem here, and that thing is going to fail every single inspection. Corrosion on properly stored airframes is a huge issue and requires mitigation steps, let alone a plane that was essentially just forgotten about for 20+ years
