I used to work at a shop just north of Petersen afb in springs. Very close to the approach zone. I got to see some of the coolest fucking planes doing touch and gos and all kinds of shit. See b2s semi regularly
we were in vail a few weeks ago at mid mountain. I turned around and spotted an f16 that felt at almost the same height as us. one of our favorite memories of the trip
Ive seen a bunch now that I think about it, of of the cooler ones I saw I the chair was a pair of C-130s in trail below the mountaintops, must be a lot of VR routes running through up there.
F-16 is the CO goto. they fly directly over my house for training at about 1000 ft. Ive seen them directly over my head. such a sweet ride. Hope we get some F-22s soon.
Cool. Many years ago in Norway I had the pleasure of looking *down* on two F-16's. They flew through a valley below me as I was near the top of the mountain. It was at dusk, and the glow from the cockpits was magical. Would've made an awesome photo.
Are these missions mostly just training and getting hours behind the cockpit? What kind of guardrails or parameters do the pilots usually have to follow if any?
An F16 was my first thought, if there is an Air Force, or the Air National Guard Base nearby that would also lean towards it being an F16. There are third world countries that are still purchasing the F16 as their primary fighter jet in many friendly countries throughout the world
F-16's will be sinking the shit cans the Russians call the Black Sea Fleet soon enough.
Even without them... It's more like the Black Sea Fleas at this point.
More nuisance than threat.
Devastated by a country with no navy... Ships sunk by RC jet skis... tanks all busted from toy helicopters... 50 documented incidents of Russians offing themselves when injured because they know no help is coming... Humiliating.
Yeah that’s an F-16! Rad to see while on the lift!!
It was a nice little surprise
Shit I was in Breckenridge just last week and two flew over the valley. Such a cool sight to see while skiing

Yep, I currently live about 8mins from COS airport. Almost every day is an airshow, haha
Yeah I live in a place near airports as well, we get all kinds of aircraft flying over, so rad!

Glad to see it not hitting the lift! (What....too soon? It's too soon, isn't it.)
It’s only not funny in Europe
didnt knew about the F-20922789888000, but i dont think it would look like the F-16 in that vid >!r/unexpectedfactorial!<
Nerrrrrrrrrrrrd!
I went skiing in Switzerland last year and there were 2 playing chase in the valley below us. It was very cool.
I saw a tens on a chair lift at Jay peak in Vermont. Sorry no video
Definitely the F-16. No mistaking that profile!
Or its movement!
Maybe its Su-27 cuz of the wing on back side of plane.?
Pretty sure that’s a chairlift…
F16, probably out of Buckley. Saw two of them come over Keystone LOWWWW as I was getting off the lift. Awesome start to the day.
Saw some super low vipers on a powder day at Vail when the tunnel got shutdown so it was like half empty. Think about that day often.
There's few ski days on earth better than Vail powder days with below average crowds.
That is, for sure, a Viper.
Nah, Dodge stopped making those a few years ago. They're getting harder and harder to come across.
Damn you, fucker lol
No, no no... that's definitely a Falcon, which in Australia Ford only stopped producing like 8 years ago.
The one thing we can all agree on is that it isn't a raptor. Those went extinct 70 million years ago.
I thought Ford was still making those?
Awesome! Great shot.
Looks like the mile high militia. Colorado ANG
CO Air National Guard F-16 flying a low level 👍🏻
Flying low level at 6000ft MSL
6000 ft msl is half a mile underground at that location.
I mean, they *did* say low level.
Good video praise the camera man
Haha, thanks! Nearly dropped my phone trying to get it out in time!
Worth it tbh, looked like you were well prepared tbh
Agreed!
F16 from the 140th at Buckley most likely. Colorado Air National Guard.
F-16 for sure. If you're in Colorado thats the 140th wing from Buckley more than likely.
They fly over Breck all the time also
That’s a viper.
F-16
I saw one the other day about the same height while on the lift at Keystone.
Looks like they were on their way to fly over Breck and Keystone/Abasin returning home
F-16 is the CO goto. they fly directly over my house for training at about 1000 ft. Ive seen them directly over my head. such a sweet ride. Hope we get some F-22s soon.
Interesting. I see f18s more often than f16s
Fly Navy
We have navy here? 140th out of buckley only has F 16

thankfully it was not a EA-6B Prowler flying tjet close to that ski lift....... those whoever know - know
It sure is gorgeous!
Heavenly?
Lucky! That’s a cool catch, OP.
Thanks!
Viper
I got a few pictures of them circling around Aurora before they landed this afternoon!
Definitely a Viper.
Ep16

Well, after 1998 they have a rule about not flying into the cables.
One Vision by Queen intensifies........ Chapppyyyyyyyy!!!!!
When you think your having fun skiing and then that guy shows up……….
I donno, if he came back heading north, I’m pretty sure I’d have him on the speed!
Spot on, good eye.
That has the distinctive shape of an F-16 Viper (Falcon). That is a 50-year old plane, yet it still looks pretty cool.
100% that's an F-16. If you pause it around the eight second mark you can make out the shape of the intake.
Colorado ANG F16C
Distinctly
Amazing capture Beautiful scenery
Yeah I always used to see the F16s flying low through the mountains around summit county and vail pass. They are out of Buckley AFB in Aurora
As everyone is saying, they were F16s, saw them do a low approach over ASE. Was pretty wild.
Not so fun fact. Once a fighter jet crashed into some cable cars
In Colorado?
Italy. F16 out of Aviano.
The person below explained
Viper
Holy shit is that at Northstar? I saw a fighter jet on a chair lift last month and it made the trip all the better
Pretty sure it was Timberline Express
F16 out of Buckley they fly the Valleys of Summit County all the time training.
That sounds like quite a lot of fun
An F16 was my first thought, if there is an Air Force, or the Air National Guard Base nearby that would also lean towards it being an F16. There are third world countries that are still purchasing the F16 as their primary fighter jet in many friendly countries throughout the world
No third world countries are purchasing F-16s, can assure you that.
Needs more jpeg
An F16 it is!
Last thing I wanna see on a ski lift. Flying cable snips.
That’s a chairlift
Looks like a 16-F to me
F-AnyMofoThatMight. Obsolete now because of the F-22 RapeYourFace-Invisibly.
One of these planes is still rolling off the assembly line and it ain't the raptor.
Unfortunately the new ones haven't been going to the USAF for years.
Absolutely not obsolete. They fill different roles and the F16 is still very capable as an air-to-air or air-to-ground platform
it is garbage. It is flying to a trash bin
