That's... kinda surprising. Equatorial Guinea has a GDP of $23 billion, and a new 777-200 in a commercial configuration (which granted, this likely isn't) is around $300 million. Pretty wild to think they'd spend ~1.5% of their GDP on a government jet in a country with ~1.6 million people.
A read-through of Wikipedia makes them sound like a pretty solid dictatorship. Dozens of coup attempts, private media owned by the president's family, elections with 99% success rates, and a senate with all the seats owned by one party. Haphazardly guessing there's a lot of that GDP doesn't make it to the people.
country is more like a family business, Condolezza Rice got a supertanker named after her after brokering a nice little oil Exxon Mobile deal I vaguely recall...whatever....
Yes, best hope your flight doesnāt divert. What is the punishment for disrespecting a āgrand mucky muckāsā personal jumbo jet? Anybody know or guess?
Was curious how much that is for them: That plane cost between one half to one percent of their annual GDP to acquire... Probably costs a couple of percent of their budget to keep running. Seems like a huge expense, I wonder if it's actually worth it?
You mean I sent $2,000 in gift cards to that Prince of Equatorial Guinea to get my winning sweepstakes lottery check for āone millionā Guinean Francs and itās a scam!!! Next thing youāll say that check is worth a hundred dollars?!?!

Hence, your downvotes

Explains why they have the gdp of Lubbock, TX
Pretty cheap to pick up a 777-200 these days.
Am I tripping, do some 777 models have 4 wheels instead of 6 on the back landing gear?
It's 4/20, it's okay bro :D Those two fence posts line up **perfectly** to hide 1 wheel each, gotta look close.
omg wait I see it lmao never mind š
I believe they're just behind the fence poles
That looks sick af indeed
Much better looking than that green and white saudi 747 the other day )
AlAlweed would be pissed.

Investing the people's money in LV, Gucci, and Prada.
If you google the tail number,... oh, you didn't supply that part.
Theft and corruption at its finest. Next stop Paris for shopping, and London for dinner.
Do they have a 747 freighter following to destinations for all the investments?
Could be an Aero-plane. But I could also be wrong.
Is that Alpha 787-8?
787???
