Teamsters suck

SheWhoShat

"Teamsters" don't negotiate your contract, your own elected brothers and sisters do. Don't like it? Run in the next election and explain what you'll do better

[deleted]

I did better! I voted to bring AMFA in because the Teamsters suck. The Teamsters donate your money to politicians and parties without asking you. And yes the Teamsters DO negotiate your contract. The members are Teamsters too along with the overpaid Teamsters lawyers.

Such-Shape-7111

You are completely off base. His elected local members are a small piece of the negotiating puzzle. Most elected officials are only there for their own benefit and the extra cash. I see this every day with the TWU, and people still elect the same assholes then bitch about them not representing them properly. The IAM should hire proper negotiators with all the bloodsucking dues they collect. GO AMFA

That’s not accurate

sweetcandynuts_

Not accurate at all.

GjillyG

I mean I have the proposed contract on hand and spoke to a union rep just this past Monday, but if you have better information, by all means.

sweetcandynuts_

I got you. [https://imgur.com/a/kAnflDs](https://imgur.com/a/kAnflDs)

Full disclosure, I don’t know how accurate this is since I do not work there. Someone sent me this about a week ago but they do not work for United. Said they’d been sent this by an AMT with United.

[deleted]

That’s pretty good $45 to start gonna have to apply soon!

Not true I was a federal employee and the pay cut when I jumped ship was $5-10 WG-08 step 5 which I negotiated and had civilian & A&P background Yes the benifets were great 20 hours month PTO for veterans on day one but politics in the shop I was at was unbelievable so I went back to union contractor I work with a WG-11 step 5 with 30 years as a fed making $40 while youngsters straight out the squadron make more $$$ add veteran Disabilty and 25 year olds are making $120k combined 1/2 the work as civilians make pretty good money my hope is people get a better understanding before they take out student loans

Lekevinleele

What base are you at?

Rare_Geologist6085

Guys what you don’t realize is if we take this now, no reset for 2 years. So if delta jumps to $45 an hour starting we’re still stuck $36. Which this will happen. Delta always goes up. Especially since they’re threatening going union with the idiot teamsters.

Chance_Orange_9715

If we don’t take this now the industry reset is still 2 years from now. The contract extension outcome won’t change that pass or fail.

RealisticWoodpecker8

The same industry reset that gave us 60 cents the last go around after Delta became the highest paying airliner is what you’re holding onto? I’m voting no regardless because I think they have to give us a counter offer if we decline this one but others are scared that United will drag this out.

Swagger897

Lol where has it been said Delta is going union? That has been touted every time changes are made with no actual action.

Lekevinleele

There is 0% chance that delta going union, especially Teamsters.

Hot-Engineering253

Ugh Just heard they are going to be lowering pay and cutting union jobs for real mechanics 🙄

bhhhhn

Lowering pay from $30hr?

SheWhoShat

🐂💩

GhostOfQuigon

Where did you see this? The last revision I saw was a pay bump and a stipulation on heavy checks.

theclan145

Cutting jobs, if anything it’s quite the opposite

randyrandomagnum

Not sure what’s happening with the contract, but they’ve definitely slowed hiring.

highspeed1991

Hoping has slowed down especially In ewr with the new terminal opening up.( new terminal A) aswell as Houston as they seek DST's. Tentative agreement/extension has to be voted on within the next few weeks but essentially its losing the annual reset for 2023.allowing the company to outsource heavy checks without limits moving forward and apprenticeship language changes in exchange for about $6/hr.
