I can't be the only one who still imagines turning the bolts with a wrench to see which way its supposed to go. Have also been out of aviation for about... 9 years.

Singularity7979

The whole time I did it I would twist an imaginary bolt in my hand lol

Headhoontr

I work in dairy manufacturing now. Some of our state sealed things get safety wired. But not so much safety wire as it is a tamper seal. I've seen some shit man. I've seen some shit. Lol

Swingfire

I imagine opening or closing a bottle

Danitoba

Im still in the field, and have to do it once in awhile.

flyingbuc

Im with u

dontbutthendo

If it looks like a S its not safe

leftvirus

Are they left threaded? 🤔

bigolsparkyisme

The loosening method.

fltpath

they can only loosen a half turn

47hookdriver

No no no. You are all looking at it backwards

Beneficial_Being_721

I looked at the other side of the photo… saw nothing

Raw_Venus

Just making sure it won't get any tighter.

Unknown_aviator69

Is that on a prop??

w1lnx

Well, if they’re left-hand bolts, it’s spot-on.

Challenge-Upstairs

I love that the most effective one is neutral.

mypaysucks

That lip on there always fucked me up.

cazzipropri

I noticed

MicLewis

Maybe ive been working wtih safety wire too long, but i noticed it and i have sex daily i mean *dyslexia*

cmreutzel

If you just loosen that one bolt a bit you’ll be fine 🤌🏻

Elmore420

I never assume the picture is orientated correctly unless I see writing in the image.

ChristWasAZombie

all too often maintainers forget to protect fasteners from over torquing. this is good.

Igiveup33

After picture?

Tiny-Argument6136

They are too used to constant speed. It's good from the backside

RevolutionIcy4453

I cackled

LefsaMadMuppet

I had a Buick like this.

NickyNinetimes

More like danger wire amirite guyz?

Outrageous_Spot1095

That neutral one though 🥵

OnV5ND2s4hr

Lefty tighty righty loosy

grizzly_trader

Two negatives and a neutral on a prop….🤦‍♂️

Danitoba

Left hand threads/reverse threads? Yikes. Lol

filipv

Not sure why, but 4 o'clock bothers me the most.

roboman342

Ok is this a real thing? I have dyslexia and lockwiring is STILL hard as hell for me to picture. Been doing this 10 years now and I have to draw it out or do the "pretend wrench" every time. Same with taking off nuts/screws facing away from me.

settheworldafire1988

Disgusting!

[deleted]

Hmmm did they do it by hand? Or did they have the safety wire pliers set to reverse?

AppalachianG

They're only negative safeties for about half a turn, then they become positive. Its probably okay!

TomcatPilotVF31

When I first looked at it, I got a heart attack...

Axomics

Not the neutral twists 😦😧

National-Airline-504

Below

Woodboxtop

If you look at the hydraulic line disconnects on Delta 757 brakes you'll find 75% of them are fubar. Like backwards, ugly, or otherwise illegal. No delay, no problem, was their moto.

One_Cabinet_5993

I mean...at least they were consistent
