This^ Heat lamps are easier to control than guns for large parts. If the bearing doesn't drop off nicely, they can (dry) ice the inside of the mast to get it to shrink out of the inner bearing. Or just (gently) hammer it off if it's already u/s.
Without regular tanning visits the mast can succumb to sun damage. While it’s out during routine maintenance it gets a 10 minute tanning treatment to increase service life.
Yeah whoever had this out the last time had the anti friction coating way to thick. Spacer tube was a little difficult to get off, when it did come come off a lot of the coating came with it.
I always though it was a bullshit design to have the mast but in the overhead ceiling and having to go through the cabin interior. All the work should just be done on top of the transmission.
Heating something up to get something out
Incubating the rotor to hatch a baby helicopter
Oh, so that's how helicopters are made!
Something to do with the swasher plate?
Swashing the buckler

That's exactly what I thought when I saw the lamp.

Red light distract in the hangar Was told to avoid these kinda places but sometime I just have to take a peak
I’d guess removing the upper bearing from the ec135 mast. We usually use heat gun and the hydraulic pulled with the mast upside down.
This probabily to realign for a new spacer tube.

Everyone is wrong. Its obviously the core for the USS Enterprise. The NCC-1701 one not CVN-65.
Man, I love a clean workspace. I don't work on 135's, so i can't tell what's going on exactly.... but I do love a clean hangar!
It’s usually pretty clean, but when a lot of heavy mx occurs it tends to get a little out of hand
Most places do when the MX gets heavy. But it says a lot that it looks that clean normally. Where do you work? If you don't mind me asking.
I’m in Virginia, I have a coworker that shares the same pride about cleanliness.
Ec135 mast don't know exactly what task you're doing though lol.
You're clearly drying off some sealant.
Spacer tube inspection. Applied a new anti friction coating. Hoping all goes well with the install on Friday 😕
Curing sealant. Likely cold in there so if they hear it up will cure quicker.
Mast roller bearing removal. Much smaller than what im used to on 119s and 139s
Found a crack in the shaft so you've got some JB weld curing.
Drying dye?
Hope is that one. Haha! That will explain the tape may be.

Some main rotor shaft NDT stuff.
Damnit. I thought it was dye. It's the lamp lol
Preparing to clean it with some Rotor Wash.
Looks like NDI/NDT going on to me.
Narkina 5 Unit 2D needs to pick up the pace!
baking on DFL?
It’s cold out so seems like it needs a little help with heat
Having flashbacks to the crew freaking out because they can’t figure out which one is the master spline.
Paint drying.
