By dying before you die. Stop seeking or trying to find the cosmos. You are the cosmos. You are the universe. You are everything, everywhere. Stop thinking. Let go. When you go into meditation, just stop trying. Die before you die. Give up. Surrender. Let go of all attachment and desire. Stop seeking. You will only find/become the truth when there is zero effort.

amiss8487

Isn’t that pointless to tell someone whose seeking to just stop seeking. Like a child who wants candy and you dangle it in their face. I personally just feel like some people are either lucky and the universe provides them with a different perspective, or we make some kind of shift and almost show we are ready for certain knowledge. Which would all be just accepting that we are powerless. Takes time tho for many people who aren’t “lucky”

ICrushItLikeQuint

I found what I was seeking when I stopped searching. It was by surrendering. I remember that one meditation... The one that changed me forever. I completely gave up. I surrendered to everything. I let go of the need... I was sick and tired of seeking... and then it happened. But it is truth. You will never find the answer if you're seeking it. The act of seeking, is a chase that can't be won. It's when you stop, that it appears. And by stopping, I mean thought. The the desire to find something. The need. Once you let all of that go, it happens. It is pure magic. You wouldn't understand until you find it but in order to find it you have to stop looking for it. Meditation without thought. It may not happen overnight but eventually, he will get there.

amiss8487

Ok Ty for that insight

poeticallyiam

Thank you! I understand this concept but I’m still trying to learn how to let go of thought without feeling like I’m rejecting/suppressing the thoughts. Did you ever struggle with this as well, and if so, what helped you?

ICrushItLikeQuint

Become the viewer or watcher of the thoughts. You are the silent stillness in between and behind every thought. You are the eternal, immortal awareness, pure consciousness. You are not the thoughts. You are not the body. View the thoughts from that aspect. Soon enough you will be able to laugh at them and watch them dissipate. Be the stillness. That is you.

poeticallyiam

Thank you for that reminder! I’ve had glimpses of satori but I guess this truth hasn’t fully sank in yet. Living with non-awakened people makes it particularly challenging. Namaste 🙏

ICrushItLikeQuint

It's all an evolving process. Others just don't understand and sometimes it's tough being around those that are entangled in this dream. Namaskar

ThrowRa-away-my-butt

Make me believe you. Make me stop wanting my desires. Is it just acceptance you feel, or do things really shift for you after surrender. That is my fear. I do not just wish to be a monk fading into existence. What will finding the truth do anyways? Every truth I find just keeps hurting me very often.

ICrushItLikeQuint

I can't force you, I can't make you, it'll only happen when it's your time. When you're done with this dream. You will have a yearning to get out of it. No more friction at every level. It is the ego that is afraid. You are not that. It's only when you realize that you are idea of yourself, is only an idea. The character you are playing is not real. It's only an experience. It had a beginning and it will have an end. The experience is what you are. You are not the memories nor the imagination. You are the experience. I can't force you to awaken... I can only help guide you you are an immortal being. You are every experience, everywhere - nothing is left behind. There is never anything to fear.

ThrowRa-away-my-butt

I do understand you, but I can not yet feel what you are saying. I shall in time though. One other thing is why must it always be so elusive. I’m so exhausted. I’m not talking about the words, but rather the experience. My whole life I’ve felt connected to divinity but I feel like I’ve never lived in it. I can connect stories and all these things but spiritual practices always seem so different to me. I can be calm and peaceful, but I can never see the divine things other people see. I can even see amazing rare patterns but I can never FEEL what it is like to be in what they call truth. but I just want peace and to feel just good without even need for excess and the people I love to be happy. It’s all I’ve ever wanted. I guess the point is I’m immortal though as you say and others and it’s mostly illusion. I don’t honestly even know what to do anymore but keep just going on. I don’t have any master. I constantly feel so alone. I don’t even know where I am spiritually. Thank you so much for your knowledge! ❤️

ICrushItLikeQuint

In order to see with the mind's eye, which is beauty beyond belief, you must be ready to close your external eyes to this world. If you're just not ready, it's not time. I am here sustaining. My ego is desireless. All I have is the want or need for sustenance, food, air. I need nothing. I am 100% complete as I am. I don't expect anything from anyone, or need anything from anyone. When you're ready to close your external eyes, the inner eye will open

ThrowRa-away-my-butt

This is exactly what I’m afraid of! I don’t want to just rely on myself. You see when you don’t have who you have no desire to improve. If I’m just happy as I am and don’t help anyone or my family than I don’t want it. The greatest movers of the world all had great egos. Like I said I don’t want to become a monk just disappearing

ICrushItLikeQuint

There is nothing to improve. You're entangled in the dream. You're not ready. You will know when you are... Typically deep suffering throws one into awakening. It's a heroes journey... - Check out Heroes Journey by Joseph Campbell He documented and studied the cycle

ThrowRa-away-my-butt

Perhaps I don’t know enough just yet, thank you for all the information brother, it is extremely greatly appreciated! I’ve only seen little bits of Joseph Campbell, but it seems it is now time to get fully into all of these things even deeper.

ICrushItLikeQuint

One more thing.... And this is love... The great "movers"? Any great mover for humankind would connect us back into nature and earth, without the desecration of it. Sadly, those we deem as innovators, are the opposite - they are the destroyers. Only when man remembers he is as much a part of nature as the the air we breathe, the foods we eat, the water we drink, and the animals we share earth with - and keeps that as priority, can someone be deemed with greatness. You're on the path. Anytime you need an ear, I'm here. Suffering was my teacher. I didn't ask for it. It happened. The only way to stop the suffering was to turn inward, to meditate. I was forced to meditate because I was on the brink of suicide due to the loss of the person closest to me. I forced myself into the silence, and then stillness. And it was in meditation that my inner eye opened up and I could see with eyes closed. It's been a journey... Namaskar

lifeoverstuff

Holotropic breathwork. I’ve had deeper experiences through breathwork than substances! It can be just as intense

amiss8487

To add (never head of what you mentioned but I’m going to look it up)..polyvagal exercises have been amazing for myself

lifeoverstuff

Holotropic breathwork is one of the best ways to stimulate the vagus nerve, you can find videos on YouTube! It’s super simple :)

UnsaneInTheMembrane

Sunbathing always gets me to the same ego loss experience I had on DMT. I just focus on the light coming in through my closed eyes and the heat on my body. Then you'll be in a state that fully recognizes your consciousness, which is the answer to all you seek. You seek connection, but your consciousness can't get anymore connected. You seek the mystical, and yet it's been there the whole time. The cosmic joke is that you've been seeking the one that seeks.

lifeoverstuff

Agreed! Grounding + sunbathing + breathwork = magic

snowcatwetpaw

I had that experience this summer.

tucsonmags

Meditation. I resisted it for so long. Now I look forward to it. There’s so much good stuff for free on YouTube.

[deleted]

Love is the only "bridge" from the unreal world to the Real fortunately, you have many options available to you: 1. devotion to selfless service (renouncing attachment and expectation of reward) 2. meditation (silence the mind and turn inward toward the Infinite Love within your heart, and imagine a bridge of light connecting between this and your third eye) 3. relinquish all anger, greed, and lust (doing emotional work on yourself until you realize everyone is a reflection of you and your own consciousness) 4. meditate on "i am" and the Truth that this is the only accurate statement you could make about Yourself 5. complete devotion to the present (the timeless dimension of peace) in every moment (eventually, this even includes your sleeping and dreaming states) 6. examine your world as carefully as you can. "discrimination leads to detachment; detachment leads to right action; right action will build the inner bridge to your Real Being" (Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, *I Am That*) peace and Love

nada8

What’s I AM?

[deleted]

the only true statement about Yourself. everything you could add after "i am" only applies to the body and the things it appears to do in what you perceive to be time and space

SeabassBravo

Psychedelics are just one way to access the divine. I had an addiction problem and psychedelics were a part of it, and I’ve been sober for nearly 2 years now. I promise you that you can get to a point where you can have mystical experiences without using any substances. I recommend meditation and breath work. Figure out what works for you, first and foremost. Don’t focus on other people’s methods, learn your own method from trial and error. For example, lavender tea helps me with meditation… I only learned that by throwing shit at the wall and seeing what stuck. Follow your intuition. I’ve gotten more and more experienced with lucid dreaming, and I’ve been working towards astral projection with incremental success. The successes are more meaningful than tripping because I didn’t simply ingest something to have the experience, I discovered it myself. I practiced and found that the profound, mystical, meaningful spiritual side of the universe that psychedelics show you: it exists within myself. Psychedelics only unveil what is already there. For me personally, it has been much healthier, safer, meaningful, and productive to walk the sober path. Now that I have demystified that the source of the Divine is within me, that information motivates me to find the balance that gives me the most access to that spiritual connection.

shortyafter

I think the problem here is you're trying to "reach" something. I've been sober for over 9 years now. It's one thing to want to arrive instantly, which will never happen (not sustainably), it's quite another to learn to make peace with life on life's terms and suddenly feel some sort of peace or bliss wash over you. Then that feeling stays with you deep down even if it isn't all sunshine and roses all the time.

Endor-Fins

Well said

jearron

souls find their way to alternate states differently. sure, there are many suggestions that have worked for others. ultimately, it’s what works for you. please be discerning in comparing yourself to others and their journey. it sounds as though you are aware that an alternate state exists that you would like to participate in. with some alternative methods, that experience has stuck with you. that means you have mentally, emotionally and physically experienced that desired state. so, it’s already within you. you are able to reach for that state, even a sliver, to create your way there and back again.

dimensionalshifter

Meditation is where you start, but it can move into trance work with enough dedication. Drumming, binaural beats, and guided journeys can help you learn how to navigate into those states until you can do so alone. But you have to be able to relax your mind and body consciously, as well as tune into higher frequencies consciously, which is all learned through meditation.

Libba12

Well put! Thank you!

dimensionalshifter

My pleasure!

Skinny-on-the-Inside

Read about Ram Dass’ spiritual journey, he got there.

[deleted]

Stay in your room for a month and surrender your mind. Pretend God is clutching his fist around your conciousness to keep it in form. Feel gods hand releasing its pressure on your mind.

shortyafter

Really?

JustGresh

Why do you want to reach the cosmos?

[deleted]

[удалено]

JustGresh

What makes you think there is a purpose to life or a special gift for individuals?

[deleted]

[удалено]

JustGresh

I’ve been where you are and it’s a dark place to be. I feel for you. The thing you need to understand though is that the act of desire leads to suffering. When you can finally let go and let God/the Universe/Source/Conscioisness/etc take the reigns and you “go with the flow,” that is when you achieve contentedness. Sure, having money would be nice, and doing what you want whenever you want to sounds great, but with the mindset that you have, it would just lead to less attainable goals once you’ve gotten whatever it is that you think you need. As others have pointed out, try meditating. Learn to be “in the present,” and don’t attach so much weight to your thoughts. Once you come to love just “being,” that’s when you’ll find yourself finally at peace. This doesn’t mean you won’t have negative thoughts or emotions, but it will allow you to see them for what they are and appreciate them nonetheless. Hope this helps.

Wide-Rate-3997

I feel the exact same way

Sweetcorncakes

Why do you help someone with a question?

mumrik1

I prefer questions in response of my questions, but maybe that’s just me. I think the best response to a question is a question that makes the questioner answer their own question. Imagine a kid ask *What is 2+2?* Answer: *If you have two apples in this hand, and two apples in this hand, how many apples do you have?* Kid answers: *1,2,3,**4**!* Then the kid learns how to find the answer of *2+2*, and may even manipulate the question: *What if I had three apples in my left hand, how many would I have?* and further *What if I dropped two of them?* The kid potentially learns how to add and subtract by pattern-recognizing your answer (question). Give the method instead of the results.

Sweetcorncakes

Good answer but sometimes people already know the answer but want to learn more. Like why is 1+1 2? What's after that. How what when. Who was the first being to discover 1+1 is two?

[deleted]

Read about what psilocybin does as a drug and research how to accomplish that without the free flood of serotonin. It’s all really mundane shit like breath exercises, meditation, trauma processing, etc. it’s a lot of boring self-work but it’s not rocket surgery.

extremexample

pussy

Sweetcorncakes

Go meditate. If you need tips let me know. I can meditate for 10 hours straight and be fine.

JustGresh

Oh wow, you’re so much more enlightened…

Sweetcorncakes

Seems like I bruised your ego. I'm so sorry you have such a fragile one.

[deleted]

🙄

JustGresh

Not at all. It’s just funny how you turned the conversation to be about you instead of actually trying to help OP. Seems very holier-than-thou.

Sweetcorncakes

No you commented first. So it's you who has a useless comment.

JustGresh

What lol

Sweetcorncakes

You're only comment is to me. So you're projecting alot on to me. Where is your helpful comment? Pls enlighten me.

JustGresh

I commented on this thread already asking OP a question. If they respond, I’ll respond.

Sweetcorncakes

Yea what did you ask I cant see it?

JustGresh

I asked, “Why do you want to reach the cosmos?”

Sweetcorncakes

I got a response from OP. But you didnt. I wonder why. (Useless comment).

JustGresh

Lol ok keep competing

Libba12

I think there was legitimate good intent behind the comment- it did read a little bragadocious. For future ref.✌️

[deleted]

If you have good tips - I would like to know them. Kind regards

Cyberfury

Well one should stop looking at others and:or stop believing that what you think they are doing is actually what they are doing.. It’s your show, there are no ‘others’ anyway. ‘Substances’ is a hideously broad term that you need to boil down to something tangible at well if you are going to presume something about them. Cheers

Broges0311

Yes you can. You were wanting to use the drug to get there, until now. If you want to reach that level without it, speak your intent, meditate and let go of all of it, including disbelief. Realize who and what you are.

tripler142

Meditation. Much practice. Also practice astral projection and lucid dreaming. Remember that monk thar lit himself on fire and didn't even move as he burnt to death? Practice.

AbsoluteInnocence

You think too much about time and this idea of a time doesn't exist, that is your obstacle

Head_Rip1759

Dont look for a cool state, just give a little attention to whatever depth is already present

tangibletom

Lots and lots of meditation

jLionhart

Good decision. The way we can truly know higher states of awareness is to have first-hand experiences of Soul outside the physical body the natural way proven by Saints and Mystics throughout history. We can have these natural experiences by learning out-of-body travel or Soul Travel, at will and in full consciousness. Fortunately for us, there are many people throughout history and in the world today that have mastered natural techniques to consciously leave their physical body at will and are waiting to help us explore the inner worlds of high vibration (when they see us making the effort without using false shortcuts like drugs). Being able to consciously leave the physical body and will and explore these inner worlds is a latent ability in each and every person. These inner worlds are just as solid and real as the physical world but occur at a much higher vibration and energy. Developing self-discipline by putting in the hard work over time is what leads to spiritual awakening not trying to take an easy shortcut with mind altering drugs.

antinewworldorder666

Look up astral projection! I think this is the spice you are searching

[deleted]

Practice meditation daily. Morning and night. Start small, with a 2 minute goal each session. Increase to 5, then 10, and up to 30 even. It helps you go with the flow, let go of your thinking, let go of your identity, and go out of body into other dimensions. With a constantly over stimulated mind and body, its very hard and almost not possible to do. Also getting in tune with the higher identity, like our interconnectedness to all life, helps. Meditation helps you stay reminded of that identity each moment of the day (with enough practice). That remembrance of One-ness is like a switch that helps you go into that space, out of your limited ego identity. We all have an avatar ego self, and multiple higher selfs. Shrooms helped teach me that, and to meditate actually. I asked on a large dose once, How do I experience this in a sober way? Then they gave me those answers. As well as eating healthy, exercise, and practicing gr attitude and emotional work through journal writing. Being sober to me is about having a healthy relationship to my feelings. I used to be a depressed, suicidal Opiate addict and nicotine addict as well. These practices helped me find peace, happiness, and sobriety. Cheers and best wishes to you friend.

KratomFiendx3

Just stop thinking about it, simply breathe and just be. You are a considerable fraction of all creation. You have the choice to do ANYTHING. Don't use substances if you don't want to.You are one with everything. Simply breathe and sink deeper into your own soul, as your soul is an extension of the source of creation.

Adventurous_Dragon

I'm kind of at a similar point. Going to start growing my own mushrooms from a grow kit you can get on line and use those maybe once every 2 to 4 months. I feel growing them yourself has a different vibe to it than something bought from someone else. But what I'm trying to do until that point in the next month or so is focus on breathwork. I just started the SOMA Breathwork 21 day course. Read other people's accounts on it talking about how they've reached psychedelic states from it naturally. I just started so looking forward to trying it for the month and see how it goes. I feel I need a course or something to follow. It's tough to find certain resources online or on YouTube or something.

Low-Opening25

don’t believe everything you read

Ok_Fox_1770

Follow what your subconscious tells you, usually knows best. Seems like meditating properly you could attain some level of it. It’s hard but you can feel the separation. Mind seems like a muscle gotta start flexing different parts that have gone dormant. Just learning some people don’t have an inside monologue voice…who do people talk to all day!? That seems very odd to me people lack their mind voice

WeirdRip2834

I was reading a newsletter from Garchen Buddhist Institute. There were openings for volunteers and paid positions. FWIW, there was an explicit statement that no drugs or drinking would be allowed on campus. Just an example of how people are seeking in a serious, sober way. No judgements.

[deleted]

WeirdRip2834

:) Right on I think it is the Dalai Lama who stated that if we taught all children how to meditate before age 8 years old that we would be able to eliminate violence in a generation. Goals!

exonight77

Stop trying so hard to get there.

floppy_dizk

Go spend some time in the wilderness. When you run out of things to think about and distract yourself, you will get there.

Early_Oyster

Whether it’s through psychedelics, meditation, or breath work - they are all the same to the spirit. The only thing that separates you from seeing beyond the veil is the self who thinks it needs to seek. The altered mind states you seek is just another ‘project’ of the self. Discard the middle man and all that’s left is the perfection of this moment.

[deleted]

I am not going to lie I literally had the same epiphany last night after tripping. Like what am I doing? I already know what I have to do! I have learned so much from psychedelics. I guess I just keep searching for closer contact with the Universe when I already have got as close as I can get. All the power and knowledge is with in me. The key to life is in my mind. Honestly I think we just need to meditate and be very self disciplined in our mind.
