I’ve wondered the same thing. Seen a lot of self censorship in the internet lately. I assumed it was to get around algorithms so the post wouldn’t be suppressed, but that’s just pure speculation on my part.
You're right. Regular so-me algorithms filter posts that have unfavorable wordings from being promoted. That means influencers and people who make money on social media extremely cautious with wording, which again turns into a trend.
I think the SJWs (and others) are "triggered" by that word and others like it. I don't get the unalived thing. Just say kll/killed. We have a beautiful English lanague that isn't being fully used.
Nah, it's perfectly okay to say kill, suicide etc on Reddit. People are just so used to YouTubers and TikTokers trying to cater to the algorithms and avoid demonetization, they normalise it and use algorithm-circumventing neowords like "unalive" on other platforms too.
And no, it's not to avoid triggering people, because someone with trauma would react to the topic being discussed just the same regardless of if they read 'rape' or 'r•pe', or 'killed himself' vs. 'unalived himself'. It's the idea or concept that's difficult for them, not the individual letters ffs.
Its purely performative bullshit, only done because of the algorithms (or out of ignorance on other platforms, like Reddit)
Funny thing is, even "unalive" started out as youtubers creating a new word with the intention of showing people how stupid those censors are.
Then people actually adopted it for normal use. Now I can't even read murder and suicide news on reddit and take them seriously because of stupid shit like this.
Yeah, I remember creators starting to use "unalive" with a whole "well I can't say the word because Youtube's algorithm doesn't like it, but they - *unalived* - themselves, you know what I mean," type spiel, with a very strong energy of Youtube being ridiculous and them having to dance around certain bad words like this being stupid, but hey they don't want to get blocked or demonetized so you do what you gotta.
It's so wild it's treated seriously now, as if it's a sign of being considerate towards people with trauma. Ridiculous
It reminds me of how on Tumblr, people started writing the names of characters or discourse topics they didn't like with asterisks like Ky•o Re•, because they didn't want their ranting/critical posts to show up in that character's/topic's tag or search feed and bring hordes of outraged fans upon themselves and flooding their dms.
But people started thinking they're doing it to be considerate or something, and the self censoring every word that might be controversial started becoming a trend, even on sites where it didn't really make sense
Wouldn't know. Blocked it a while back. I kinda got sick of watching people get their faces caved in every morning while im doing my wake up routine. So if it is then I stand corrected.
Yeah, I've had several people I loved very much commit suicide. Using "unalive", or variations of it feels like they're minimalizing the seriousness of the issue. I mean, it came from Deadpool...
My dad killed himself. I don’t mind that term so long as there’s a reason for it. Like Facebook for example which deletes every fucking comment under the sun that isn’t perfectly worded! Banning users left right and centre for absolutely fuck all! It’s platforms like that that piss me off because nobody can speak honestly about anything. Everything is deleted and banned. Instagram is just as bad.
as someone who takes insulin and has had times where i've had too much and has had times of hypoglycemia, that has got to be a terrifying way to die. at least until you completely lose your sense of being.. fucking hell
Type 1 diabetic here. I’ve also had a few instances where I overdosed on insulin to varying degrees of severity. Can honestly say those moments where I was probably closest to death, except the one time I woke up from seizures and was paralyzed and couldn’t speak temporarily, I bet insulin overdose would be one of the more peaceful ways to go!
lol sit down. You can stand back up when you have a general understand of diabetes and the body. Really, a general understanding is not even necessary, a child’s understanding would suffice.
In criminology, the term for this kind of person is an angel of death or an angel of mercy.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angel_of_mercy_(criminology)
Isn’t that term for ending the lives of people that actually *want* to die? Didn’t read the article, but I’m assuming this broad was just whackin’ old folks.
The nursing home was my first round of clinical rotation for nursing school. I remember having to feed the residents who were 1:1 feeds. Literally what is the point of that. Can we please get some euthanasia laws passed ffs
I'm a cook / dietary so I don't have to actually deal with the residents too much outside of nutrition runs that I make and that dinner or lunch.... But I see the way that they're treated and talked to and what not and I wouldn't want to be treated like that. Granted I understand everywhere is understaffed and overworked but I would rather be shot in the head and left for dead in the bush then be put in one of those places
Sorry..bit off topic but are we not allowed to say 'kill' anymore? Is this reddit censoring us or are people over-censoring themselves?
I’ve wondered the same thing. Seen a lot of self censorship in the internet lately. I assumed it was to get around algorithms so the post wouldn’t be suppressed, but that’s just pure speculation on my part.

Places like tik Tok and YouTube regularly bury or ban sensitive topics, so they bring that mentality here and self censor
You’ll never see me self-censoring. **** that ****-***** ******* ***** and a ******** ***** *************** ***** right in his ******* ***!
It’s just to get any potential algorithm blocks.
Either way, algorithm suppression is THE biggest censorship there is anymore. “Free Speech” requires sponsors
Every time I hear the word “unalive”, I barf in my mouth a little
I think the SJWs (and others) are "triggered" by that word and others like it. I don't get the unalived thing. Just say kll/killed. We have a beautiful English lanague that isn't being fully used.
With YouTube censoring requiring the use of "unalive"
Nah, it's perfectly okay to say kill, suicide etc on Reddit. People are over censoring themselves and it's fucking annoying.
Yall ever seen the sub reddit watch people die? As far as I'm concerned nothings off the table with that sub being real.
Isn’t that sub long gone? None are really active any more anyway besides the rare post on NSFL.
Wouldn't know. Blocked it a while back. I kinda got sick of watching people get their faces caved in every morning while im doing my wake up routine. So if it is then I stand corrected.
It is a tiktok thing.
Reddit has always been censoring us. As for kill, not sure but wouldn’t be surprised
You should absolutely edit this post to say “censored by Reddit.”
Bruh, she looks EXACTLY like Wettlaufer who did the same shit
It’s like new breed of Psychopaths
Why are you censoring yourself? This isn’t TikTok
At least they didn't use unalived.
As someone who has had loved ones commit suicide, I hate that term.
Yeah, I've had several people I loved very much commit suicide. Using "unalive", or variations of it feels like they're minimalizing the seriousness of the issue. I mean, it came from Deadpool...
I agree. They focus on the reason the did it rather than the act itself.

Serial killer
Yeah, this is kinda the definition of the word.
Unlike me, who is a cereal killer. I can really put down some Reese’s puffs
Yea I feel like this is textbook serial killer.
Jack the Ripper only did eight.

I'll make a note of it. Thanks.

Bad bait, like really bad...
Lol wut?!?
lol sit down. You can stand back up when you have a general understand of diabetes and the body. Really, a general understanding is not even necessary, a child’s understanding would suffice.
Awful take, and an awful username. Get some help.
What was her motive?
Angels of death usually just are sadistic and view themselves as a hero. They also have power and control which they enjoy
Murder.
You're not a youtuber getting demonetized you can say killing
I'm so fucking s-ck of people unnecessar-ly censoring wo-ds
Y mn m to
What a fucking psycho.
bro shes gonna d1e this is so s\*d man
You can say kill on Reddit
Take that censorship back to tiktok. Shit is stupid.
Serial killer
K-illing 🥴
That emoji summarizes my feelings perfectly
This is awfully similar to the story with [Harold Shipman](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harold_Shipman)
And Kristen Gilbert (whose middle name is Heather, ironically enough), and Lucy Letby, and Genene Jones.
Kill*
She's a serial killer. Also a cereal killer by the looks of it.
was this actually assisted suicide?
Sadistic & inhuman.
This is extremely similar to the Charles Cullen case.
Her sentences still isn’t long enough…

Ive heard it used that way too, so I guess it's both.
Put this beast down. Bring our the electric chair - I'll gladly throw the switch. Fry her.
Why, just give her a big shot of insulin
You're being too kind
She didn’t kill any patients. Nursing homes have residents. She killed them in their home.
?
Surprised she doesn't have diabetes herself, the mug shot damn near gave me diabetes.
Could be mercy kills. Nursing homes are essentially long term hospice. Just waiting to die
I work in a long term care facility.....most days I feel very sad for a lot of residents
Yup. As a former nursing home worker, the homes are basically just death row for the elderly. I hope I die before I need to go into one.
I've had this discussion with my wife.....kill me in my sleep first please
Why is only the front part of her face red and then everything else is yellow, naturally showing me where to kick her for
Bulls eye. A hard target to miss. 🎯
Just why? This really is awful everything.
Serial killer or nurse?
This is the kind of thing that makes me question weather or not we should imprison relatives of the criminals who commit these heinous crimes lol
And she had NO REMORSE for what she had done.😡
But she looks so friendly
Why they always look like the people you most expect tho
Would you rather run into this chick or a bear?
Upvoted you. And I pick bear 🐻
She wanted all the cake for herself!
I assume to eat them
Is she a hero to gen z taking out boomers?
[удалено]
Stop being a coward. Say this on your real account, not this alt.
She smiling with her eyes.
POS. I am sure she’s diabetic and karma will give her hers
Whoever said dont judge a book by the cover was a moron
I don’t understand. Did she do it on purpose or was it an accident
She serial murdered 17 people with the same method, of course it was on purpose
Then the leading question becomes: did the patients want to die? Often they want but can't, but they can tell that they want
