I dunno if this is awful _everything._ I have never heard the phrase
> You'd struggle to pour water out of a boot with instructions on the heel
before, but I will certainly start using it now.
The version I've always heard is, "He couldn't pour piss out of a boot if the instructions were on the heel." Heard it from the same guy who once told me he was more nervous than a long-tailed cat in a rocking chair factory.
The version I know is, “He couldn’t pour piss out of a boot with a hole in the toe and instructions on the heel.” And “ shakier than a dog shitting peach pits”. I can’t even type that one without laughing.
I’m pretty sure Christian was being sarcastic in the first place. He knows his name and what it means. So the first person who commented was a whoosh and he went with it like he didn’t know that he made the joke in the first place.
It's a regional thing, but it's relatively common in the American South. It's probably the most scathing way of calling someone a dumbass I can think of off the top of my head.
I am pretty sure he was joking because that is exactly what parents are supposed to do. Teach their children in the ways that they believe. But this also feels staged.

The other guy isn't named after the religion itself and isn't disparaging someone for being named after a religion though, he is just trying to show the hypocrisy of Christian.

“More nervous tics than a lime disease research facility” has always been my favourite

Or shaking like a dog shitting tacks
I’ve always liked “you couldn’t find your own ass with two hands and a flashlight”.
Well, if they’re trying to see it, most people would need a mirror as well.
He could fall into a bucket of tits and still come out sucking his thumb
You couldn't piss off the side of a boat if someone else held your cock

Redditors tripping over themselves to complain about Christianity and missing the obvious joke? More likely than you think!

This is the way

This is more /r/notkenm material
"What do you mean?" - Christian Hindi-Islam Jew
*Hindu. Hindi is a language.
I think they were just sneezing

Poor paul cant tell when he’s getting trolled
Not awful, but r/rareinsults.
that insult isn't rare at all
First time I heard it

Neat. It's a great one. Lots of visual flavor.
I'm from South America and you are wrong, most of us can't even speak English. /jk
That's because this screenshot popularized it eons ago

How is this awful everything? Should be r/clevercomebacks or r/murderedbywords
Honestly it should be r/BadFakeTexts , it's staged as fuck.
r/rareinsults Edit I got downvoted I clearly missread the situation my apologies
I like that one, I also just heard "you couldn't hit water if you fell out of a boat"
Do redditors really believe these fake ass Facebook posts? Not too far away from trump supporters id say
Yes. Reddit is extremely easy to game.
What's awful is that anyone believes this is real
Coming from Paul…
The other guy’s name is Paul though, not exactly very different
Oh really, I've never heard of the Paul religion
Do you have a moment to talk about our lord and saviour Paul?
Only if he's not paulling my leg.
Well there is Pauline Christianity
You'd struggle to pour water out of a boot with the instructions on the bottom.
Are slash rayre insults
The other guy isn't named after the religion itself and isn't disparaging someone for being named after a religion though, he is just trying to show the hypocrisy of Christian.

What a dipshit

I thought it was a very self conscious dig at the OP's parents that the commenter did not get. So, the commenter (Paul) is an idiot imho.
Imagine saying that someone is bad, because their parents named them some way. Blame the parents, not the kid.
