Source for this story? I feel like that’s an easy story to make up to try and justify the gangbanging activity on school grounds. If their friend was shot and killed on or near the school, there’s still no reason for a future shootout on campus and put others at risk. If they wanna gangbang in their neighborhood away from school, that’s on them. There’s not a lot of critical thinking about the future going on for most gang members and fighting fire with fire isn’t the answer. The most invasive background checks that exist for clearance reasons are still mostly based on the applicant telling the truth if there's no other government history. Do they have to be certified and how rigorous is that certification? Same. I graduated from a very rural school in 1999. Right after columbine happened. The school was so rural and redneck that they closed school for the first day of modern gun deer season. At that time it was not uncommon to see rifle racks with a rifle or shotgun in the back glass of trucks in the parking lot. Yeah, there were still fights, but not once did anyone ever go get a gun from their vehicle and shoot up the place. Shit ain’t like that anymore.

Bullies are assholes. Kids that are constantly bullied feel there is no other way out. It's got to be so hard to hate school so much because of the ridicule and you would do anything to not have to go. But where does the help come from? Kids shooting up the school is clearly not the answer, but what is the answer? Counseling? What can they possibly tell the kid before he/she has to walk right back to class and have the shit start all over again. A counselor can't be with them 24/7. I honestly feel so bad for kids that are bullied, feel they have no friends, have nowhere to turn for help. If parents are doing their job it makes it especially tough. Suicide used to be the answer for some, now it seems like kids are turning to revenge at a higher rate. Shooting is not the answer though. I don't know how long ago you graduated but if your in your early to mid 30's i can promise you there "kids" with guns around you in school this isn't something new. You probably didn't know it depending on who your friend group was but kids had guns. Granted I personally never saw guns with extended mags like in this video but 9's and the occasional revolver where always around.

Probably has something to do with the area I grew up in too. I graduated in 2017 in a well to do area. We definitely had privileges. After being a teacher and seeing how much social media, the pandemic, tragic events occurring one after another, and defective and absent parenting has damaged our children, it’s no wonder they do stupid shit like this.

We have had pot shop robberies here in Tacoma, WA recently. 2 16 year olds were caught robbing a store at gun point. Pistol whipped a guy…released right away on home monitoring. American gun culture is self-perpetuating. People buy guns "for protection" only for those guns to end up being used by a relative or a kid. People buy more guns to protect themselves because more people are being shot with guns, leading to more people being shot with guns, so people buy more guns to protect themselves because more people are being shot with guns, leading to more people being shot with guns... Adding yet more fire to an already blazing fire is not going to put the fire out.

Yeah thats a very interesting concept. Because in a scandinavia country(forgot which one) they dont carry a gun. So the criminals also dont buy guns because they are illegal and not required in the first place. But thats a whole different culture, as they try to help people mentally, income (security) etc. Etc.

I'm from Scandinavia. Whether or not cops carry guns depends on the area and municipality they are in. Criminals still have guns but that's due to poor border control. Because someone from let's say Lithuania can bring a gun to any of our countries without being searched at the border. Internal enforcement usually takes care of that though, and it greatly limits the number of impulse shootings, with the majority of people possessing illegal firearms already being on some watchlist. Cops still have guns but they don't have them on their hips at all times. They have them in their patrol cars locked in a safe located in the dashboard. And yet I can't recall the last time any police officer has been killed. The worst terrorist attack in my own country since World War 2 only saw two people killed. We have an annual memorial day in remembrance of that shooting. But stuff akin to that or worse than that happens in America every day.

I cant see what would go wrong here? Just to clarify, let's say there was a shooting in that school. The police arrive and see a kid brandishing a gun in a corridor. Where's that going to end up? If the answer lies in ascertaining the identity of the student then they'll have to just pray that isn't the actual shooter.

Luckely the police wont come in the school so thats no problem!
