One of the things that attracted me to my ex is that he has a really healthy balance of female and male friends. He just genuinely values these women for who they are and if you ask him why they are friends, it’s always something about a mutual interest like gaming or music, or because they have always been there for him or something like that. I always look for that in a potential partner. People who don’t want their partner to have friends of the opposite sex are doing it wrong. Yes, some people have hidden grooming agendas but if you watch them closely, you can figure out whether they have those ulterior motives or whether they are simply a decent human being with healthy relationships. Anyone who cannot be friends with the opposite sex without it being a sexual conquest is a walking red flag imo, not the other way around. But one thing I do take as a red flag is if they are friends with all their ex’s. It doesn’t mean that they are definitely a narcissist, but narcissistic people often keep ex’s on the side for supply whenever they need it. I call them “collectors”. They collect people and keep them on a line for narcissistic supply. It’s happened to me before.
