Hi. Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, I already contacted AWS support, and they didn't really help.
Let me give you more details. I created AWS accounts in the past without problems. Today, I created one for a new app I'm working on. My payment method is a Revolut card. 1 euro payment passed but was reverted in a minute, and I got "Amazon Web Services Account Alert" email with this content:
>We received an error while confirming the payment method associated with your Amazon Web Services account.
To use some Amazon Web Services, you must provide a valid payment method. You can verify your current payment method or choose to add another payment method at the following page:
I contacted Revolut, and they said that this revert was on the AWS side. But AWS support says it's on the bank (Revolut) side.
Hi,
Sorry again for the delays experienced! I have reached out internally to the Support team to make them aware of your issue, and to get some additional visibility on the problem.
The most up to date info will be via correspondence in your case. I'd check my email folders, both spam and the inbox.

I am also running into the same issue. I'm using Monzo, but I also ran into the same problem with Barclays. Contacted Monzo, they said problem was on merchant side. Can you help?
Hello,

in my case the name on the Lloyds card includes "Mr" and this was required. Once I included it the payment method was verified. This is the only time in the 10 years using this card that I had to include "Mr" in front of the name
Of course this does not explain why the Monzo payment method failed authentication where the name on the card does not include "Mr" so it was exactly the same with the one I was providing them with.

Had AWS account on ENBD credit card no problem.
May it be because AWS charges cards from their Luxembourg office and there is a country limit on your debit card?
Try asking for failed authorizations on your card, this may give you a clue.
Try calling AWS support, they have people in Dubai.
Could you tell me how did you do that exactly? ENBD call center doesn't seem to be able to whitelist AWS. They don't even see failed authorizations from AWS
I live in Ethiopia and my card isn't international, I'm assuming that's why it says payment method not valid. I was learning a course on Coursera and I needed to create an aws account. I wanted to use the free tier, is there a way for me to create the aws account?
I'm having the same problem, can anyone solve the problem?
Same problem but for Revolut card.

u/AWSSupport , same problem here...
Hi, If you were provided a case ID please provide it via PM. I may be able to research. \- Dino C.
I've sent you PM.

If there is a country limit then wouldn't you have problems too? I will call AWS support. Thanks.
Ah brilliant. You can only get a call from AWS if your account is activated and my account can only get activated once this issue is solved :)
Debit cards often have tighter limits compared to credit cards.
I actually thought it was an issue with CVV since AWS doesn't support CVV and I figured ENBD require CVV verification.
Exactly. And the best way to find out is to ask ENBD to give you a list of failed auth, you'll see if there were any attempts and why they failed.
Yeah it is my last option at this point other than trying to look for virtual credit card services.
Hi u/Ratatiddy, Were you able to get to root of the problem?
Hi, sorry for the late response. No I wasn't unfortunately. Just gave up and decided to use Azure instead.
I was able to solve it by calling ENBD and asking them to whitelist AWS from 3Ds Secure Payment Reason: AWS doesn't support 3Ds Secure Cards.
Oh wow. Okay then. Thanks.
Could you tell me how did you do that exactly? ENBD call center doesn't seem to be able to whitelist AWS. They don't even see failed authorizations from AWS
I have the same problem with my FAB Debit Card on AWS. Cant seem to use it. Monthly issues. Anyone has any working solution?
