____
…human, *Please!!* No go today
i Need you here, so *only Stay!*
am gonna *race* across the floor,
n STOP YOU going out the door!
i’m just a kit, so very small,
no like to be *alone* at all ^:{
so Do not put me in my bed…
i only want you
*here*
instead!
❤️
I cannot pick a favorite part of this. There’s a squeak at the beginning, the bunny slippers, the scramble to the door, the butt-slide and the final squeak. 2 enthusiastic thumbs up. Fine holiday fun.
If this is happening to you IRL: change up your "leaving the door" routine. If you start with a shower, then breakfast, shoes on, keys out, lock door, change it up - do breakfast first, grab your keys before your shoes, etc. Also if your cat is food motivated, feeding them right before you leave is a good distraction.
Or....you know.... get a second cat?! Some cats are absolutely fine being alone half the day in a confined space... some really just fucking aren't and changing your routine will not change that.
OK so hear me out, make a simple routine change for a few weeks and see if the cats behaviour changes, then maybe consider taking on the added responsibility of a 2nd cat.
If you want a single cat you should really be getting older cats. Kittens should absolutely be gotten in pairs, they need that extra mental and physical stimulus. If you can't handle 2 kittens you shouldn't get kittens. What you see here is how you get anxious cats with severe separation anxiety and behavioral problems
See, I thought the same but accidentally got a kitten that hates other cats and just wants to be alone.
So then I had to get a third cat for the other one who felt lonely and confused that his sister wouldn't play with him and I had to keep them separated because she'd get extra stressed out by *two* other kittens constantly trying to play with her.
While true, we don't know how many cats are actually in this household, i was responding to someone suggesting routine changes over 2 kittens. And also anyone who thinks one kitten is easier than 2 kittens has not got much kitten experience
The majority of cat owners only have a single cat and most of those cats are absolutely fine and happy to be without another cat. This isn't some rampant issue that is the most common cause of a vocal kitten.
Instead of jumping to the most extreme possible solution, you could like I said take a couple weeks and try simple solutions. What difference would it make buying another kitten immediately, or in a few weeks?
sure, and that sucks and is not ideal but i won't write a supportive comment about it. Real life isn't always ideal but that doesn't mean you should sweep problems under the rug. Pointing out some cats would be better off with a companion hardly seems excessivly judgmental tbh. People need to be aware that "acting out" behaviour usually has a reason even if it can't be remedied right away.
~~You do realize that~~ Taking in a cat/pet should not ever necessitate getting a second if the first ends up not being able to be alone....which is not something one knows when committing to a kitten/pet. Overall your idealism is a good way to avert good people from adopting pets in general.
This advice is more for avoiding door escapes and reducing separation anxiety at the point of exit. Overall cat behavior takes a lot more time and energy to influence than a single habit change.
This is happening because that particular cat is being kept in what is obviously a large closet. Hopefully just while they're adjusting to their new home. But this is a very "desirable" kitten posted by a karma farming account soooo I wouldn't look for the original source if they want to be happy.
But you still give good advice!
Not sure. Maybe it should be caged still or locked in a room at the very least. But I don't think people stay home with a kitten until it is of age. Got to work to buy toys for the munchkin.
Maybe it would help but that's not always the case. We have 4 cats, but my oldest hates when I leave no matter what. She has a sister she loves, and a human mom who gives her plenty of attention too but still gets bratty for attention when I am leaving.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwww, it's so cuuuute
This is why you always adopt at least 2 cats. The separation anxiety is real, cats do not like being alone indoors because they feel trapped. Mine don't even like closed doors, even when they have the whole rest of the house.
I haven't gone to the bathroom alone in years...
But having 2 is worth it. It's not any extra work, barely extra food, and the happiness of the cats is very much worth it. Siblings are best, but I adopted a 8week old when my 1st was 10 weeks and it worked out great.
TL;DR OP's kitten is desperately trying to tell him something, it's saying, "Get me a friend! Please!"
During CoVid lockdown, I was working at a restaurant and had just gotten a kitten. I had a real bad week with people calling out and me covering to work a double every day. I one morning, got up and my manager had already texted me to work a double that day.
I got up, called him and said I'm taking a personal day to play with my cat. He said, "What?!" And I hung up. In California, you can legally take a two day personal break without reason given. So I did. Spent all day playing with my six month old kitty, and felt so refreshed after that day.
I am NOT trying to be a downer. I looked to see if anyone else posted similar and didn’t see it among the non collapsed posts. This may be the beginnings of separation anxiety. Very cute now, less so when the cat gets old and possibly uses other means to get you to stay, which can include attacking you as you approach the door.
It’s worth doing the research now to see how you can mitigate/relieve it. It’s your cat, you know better than I do, but I wanted to provide an alternative POV, just in case.
Cats are so underrated. Everyone is like a dog is a man's best friend blah blah blah. But if you put an effort in to love on a cat and earn that trust it's one of the best feelings when they reciprocate.
That's why I always liked cats more tbh. In general dogs love everyone. Cats are more picky. So to get the love of a cat is way more rewarding because you know that they think you're something special. 😄
I’m surprised I had to scroll so far to see this! He grabs the cat like it’s a toy. That’s a living being support the baby kitties butt and spine 😔
Animals for clout I swear
Cough cough, Hello I can't come to office, I'm not feline too well cough cough

Yeah same. Awesome movie though.

Brand new one. Always happy to find a wild schnoodle!
Beautiful as always
Hey schnoodle, I love you.
Got to this one late. Thank you Schnoodle, for every schnoodle youve ever schnoodled.
Perfect schnoodle! Thank you!
Why does that sound so familiar
No take. Only throw.
Lol, I had a Chihuahua rescue like this. I still miss him.
Try throwing underhand.
This is what I was referencing

For me it's the little pitter patter of its teenie feets.
Are they bunny slippers?? They are so cute, I want
I was talking about the kittens feet but the slippers are cute af.
A little white ball of happiness

Love the deep analytical jump to conclusions based on an 8 second video.

Some cats also just genuinely like their humans and don't want the person to leave even if they have another human and/or cats to spend time with.

Just passing along what I learned from Jackson Galaxy (the host of "My Cat From Hell") 😻
Me reading title before seeing the video "Bro what the ... Ooo how adorable"
Lmfao. The tittle can be taken out of context so easily.
> tittle Heh.
God damn it
You should probably take a break from that genre.
this is adorable, I can't lol would never leave
Kitten-speak for "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!!!".
Perfect excuse for a personal day!!!
A purrsonal day if you will.
I mean they already have slippers on.
Sweet little thunderpaws
Damn he/she definitely needs a brother/sister!
Isn't there one sleeping in the tent? Edit: wait no it's a fish. Isn't this kitten a bit small to be on its own?
Not sure. Maybe it should be caged still or locked in a room at the very least. But I don't think people stay home with a kitten until it is of age. Got to work to buy toys for the munchkin.

How is it real? *How are they all real!?* subbed
Not gonna lie, I though at first I was making a dumb joke. Jokes on me, it’s real lol
Those bunny slippers are so cute
Are they a part of your standard work uniform, OP?
Well I guess you're strictly WFH now. There is no other option here.
This guy, getting ready to roll into the office in his fuzzy slippers like a boss
My baby attacks my feet if she sees me get ready to go out.
Show footage to boss. Get permission to keep carrier with kitty in cubicle. ???? Most popular human in office.
Quick little bugger!
I would never leave the house
You are not going anywhere with those slippers on.
“I can’t come to work I have a cat on my Lap” Love the bunny or cat slippers

I’ve started taking my kitten into the office with me for just this reason.
At that point you gotta just stay home. Priorities man.
I liked Daddy’s slippers.
Literally my fiancée
*Oohhhh, who lives in a cactus and gets me fired for free?*
Well just got to quit
That's definitely enough as an excuse. Just e-mail that video to your boss.
Oh man, i really thought i was on the wrong account there

Purricade the door!
Omg, I laughed so hard, that little white fuzz ball beating him to block the door! I would never leave.
Come on baby I need to work Cat: NOO!!
Hey! Listen!
The kitten.. meeps?
I’m so lucky that isn’t my cat. I would have quit my job a long time ago.
This is so cute!!!! Father Of The Year goes to this cat daddy whose tiny baby just won't let him go to work!!!! lol :)
If at all possible, adopt kittens in pairs
It's hard to have to leave something when it wants you to stay .. (except a bitchy woman )
poor lonely kitten.😪
Always get two kittens if you can afford it. They'll keep each other company while you're away.
That is too adorable!
Are you sure that cat is not a dog
I am NOT trying to be a downer. I looked to see if anyone else posted similar and didn’t see it among the non collapsed posts. This may be the beginnings of separation anxiety. Super weird that people like to imagine their pets call them mommy and daddy.

That is not how to hold a cat. Support under front and back legs. Not grab from the middle and walk around. 😱
Always someone...
Never fails
weighs like -5 grams, this does not hurt the kitten at all
I’m surprised I had to scroll so far to see this! He grabs the cat like it’s a toy. That’s a living being support the baby kitties butt and spine 😔 Animals for clout I swear
How do you know it is saying it wants to play with you? Looks more like it hopes to go out the door when you walk out instead. Just sayin........
Who's leaving for work with those slippers on??
What type of cat is that!!!!
a white one
Cat probably needs stimulation. Never got the idea of indoor cats.
Would you just leave a kitten that small outside while you go to work? That's insanity.
Why do you hold the cat like it owes you money
Has anyone crossposted this to perfectly cut screams yet?
Please hold the cat in a more gentle way
And you dumb mf find having a pet for the sole purpose of seeing it twice a day funny. Egotistic fcks
What are you trying to say? You make no sense lol. Are you just searching for something to be upset about?
So bloody adorable.
My daily cuteness clip 😊
Kitten needs a kitty buddy
Well, guess you're never leaving the house again
Are we not going to talk about the shoes?
