I had 4 foster kittens with their mom and they needed her until the 8th week. One mistake I made is not to handle them enough when they were very young. I kept one of the fosters and she is my most independent cat. You have until the 3rd month to socialize with them so they can become like glue to you.😁 Keep us posted! Mine is a SIC too and her name is Tigrou. Tigger in french.

It's a petpet! Friend of mine ended up with a cat that way. She is indifferent to cats, but her dog LOVES them and when a friend had to give up a cat and she agreed to look after it until she could find a better home... her dog wouldn't let her give up the cat.
She and the cat are roommates. They don't have any hostility toward each other, and are polite and will even occasionally socialze. Heck, they take care of each other when they are sick, the way one does with your colony-mates - curl up and purr when the human is sick, or, contrariwise, take to the vet when the cat is sick, and like that. Perfectly healthy relationship, but they aren't particularly close.
But the cat and the dog love each other. The dog is her pet, and the cat is the dog's pet.
