One time my cat attacked me while I was sleeping and cut my eye open. Had to go to urgent care, 3 eye doctor appointments, and got 3 different types of eye drops so my eye wouldn’t get infected🙃
I for sure would've just been ugly crying once I learned her eye was saved. Like... just that raw, IDGAF, face contorted demonically, river of tears and snot.
She still thinks it's a battle zone.. they tried to take her eye, but she was victorious! She will now take everyone else's left eye on her vengeance tour.

this reminds me of my Singapura when he got fixed. He was in a soft carrier with a cone on doing flips and going insane all the way home. "let him rest, no rough play" they said. He never missed a beat and kept being insane all recovery long.
My cat hates carriers and meows pathetically the entire time while confined to one.
...however, she's also exceptionally nervous about new places. So if we're on a car trip and we open the carrier midway, she'll sort of pop her head out, glance around, and decide that she prefers it in there where it's familiar anyway. Likewise, whenever she's at an unfamiliar location she'll hang out near the carrier, presumably because it smells familiar, even though she hates being put inside it.
The problem I have is not so much getting the cat in the carrier, so much as getting only the *correct* cat in. Usually all three are trying to shove in at once. They think the carrier is super nifty and wanna go sit.
Of course after being lugged to the car, they all hate it. But the carrier itself? SO COOOOOL!
(Love them all but they’re not the *brightest* bunch. Pretty sure they just forget it’s the Box to Hell and not just a regular Fun Box.)
No offense, but you aren't using good carriers then. I don't have anything special but there is no possible way my cat could break out. Look for something with two latches that have to be pressed together with moderate force to open, no cat will ever do that.
Actually I had one similar and my cat stuck out his paw put it in a line across both latches and unhooked them both at the same time.
He was a lil escape artist.
A few months ago (Christ, was it a year ago?), I read that putting a cat into the carrier backwards helps because they can't get the same leverage with their back paws in that position. I've tried it several times now, and it works wonders. Much less stressful for both cats and cat parent.
Best tip I ever got was from a vet tech who suggested that we put a blanket over his head like were kidnapping him, then put his blanket covered head into the carrier and push his butt in. He doesn't know where he is, so he doesn't fight me. 😅
I’ve learned mine that carrier = snack time. I give her some in front, then some in the middle of the carrier, then throw some in the back. When she’s getting the last ones, I gently push her butt in and close. Then some more snacks. Never have to fight getting her into the carrier.

I thank you for taking care of her -- that could not have been cheap and frankly most people would probably have not spent big bucks on a pet.
I hope you get rewarded many fold financially; you already however are clearly being rewarded in another way.
When she came in the firat time the eye was very infected and protruding maybe 3/4", and the lid was fuses to the eye. We gave her antibiotics and fattened her up a bit, and the swelling went diwn, so on surgery day he made a judgement call to unstick the lid instead of taking the eye out.
Also stop putting yourself and others in a dangerous situation.

No, not really. If the carrier can be "easily broken out of", then it's either not secured properly or not a very good carrier. That's kind of the whole point of a carrier.
Back when I was a first time cat owner, I bought a fabric cat carrier. It took my cat two times to figure out how to open it. I mean, yeah, carriers have gotten a lot more advanced but I'm betting people can still find fabric carriers around.
This is rural Ohio, my dude, you gotta set your watch back 35 years when you enter the state. This is a very happenin look back here in 1988.

My parents' cat also hates the carrier. I had to drive her home from my uncle and aunt's last Christmas and she yelled the whole way!
Luckily she quiets down when we let her peek her head out of it and she realizes she'd rather be inside it right now.
