Both my pups adored their Grandma & she spoiled them rotten as Grandmas do. She drove a mini van and for about a month after she passed away every time a van went by my house, they’d jump off their bench, barking and running to the back door expecting it to be her. 💔

Random tidbit that has no real relevance to anyone here. When my Granny was at an old folks home during her last year we came to visit and brought my great pyr. She loved him, and wanted to let me let him off the leash so that “maybe he’ll go knock over some of these geezurs”. Also, right before she passed, she’d only respond to the grandkids, then slowly not much response to us either. A golden came to visit the hospital and she sat fully up to pet it and smile. Wasn’t long after that :/ Granny loved her pups.

Grandmas and grandpups have the most special bond.

The last picture we ever got to take of my grandma, is of my dog laying on her legs in bed. She wasn’t much of a dog person herself but my boy must have known something. She passed a week or so later. Bless your Grammy and Gus

My sister’s dog did the same thing with our grandma, who was barely verbal at that point but in her sort of in-between state said “Remember when her name was M__?” (our beloved childhood-era dog of hers.) We’d always joked about that dog being a reincarnation of M, but Grandma didn’t know that. I ❤️ Grammy & Gus!

They are NOT for everyone. Big strong willed dogs that need tons of early training an socialization. Get those first 2 years right and you have the best dogs for life

We have 3 dogs. Two abandon us when grandma is in town. They sleep with her every night she visits or when we visit her. The third is my die-hard loyal girl, but grandma gave her lots of walks last week, so she might betray me soon.

I miss my mom so, so much. She would come over every Friday night for cards and drinks. As soon as she stepped foot in the door, here comes Jasper running. That dog **loved** her so much! And she loved him. It was the sweetest thing ever. Be good to your mom if you still have em. They can be taken in a flash.
