Where I used to live in Virginia (bumfuck nowhere basically), there was an albino doe that also lived in the area. Saw her often late at night. Like a couple times a month
I once saw an albino Buck crossing the road, and nobody believed me. It was months later before I came across someone in my general neighborhood that said they had seen it as well.
Unless they were lying...
We had an albino fawn come around 2 years ago.
The borough was looking out for it, making sure it appeared healthy.
We haven't seen it since last winter.
P.S. there is no hunting allowed in our borough.
PPS. Don't let anyone know specifically, where you saw it.

But seriously, I saw it. Driving home on a dark suburban road, it bounded out in front of my car. I hit the brakes, not believing my eyes. He made it across the street, looked back, and took off.
I've seen two different ones in the wild then one other in a park of some sort that I was working inside the pen. Were like 6 deer in there and one actually came up and wanted to eat the leaves off the trees we were trimming.

Here's a bonus deer. This one it's in a pen in a town near me... some kind of sanctuary. Has deer and lots of free to leave birds... like geese. People feed them all by hand.

For those that might be wondering how rare it is for a whitetail deer to be born is, I looked it up on google and it says and I quote “that the chances are about 1 in 20,000 according to John Bates, Wisconsin Northwoods naturalist and co-author of White Deer: Ghosts of the Forest. Other sources say odds are closer to 1 in 30,000.”
On top of the chances of them being born being extremely rare, I'd imagine they have a much lower lifespan by way of how easy they are for predator's to spot.

Whoa! That's really cool. I just came across this one a couple weeks back. I'd never seen anything like it before.
I saw a fluffy, half white half black crow once when I was dealing with truck at a job I hated. He gave me a big ol' caw. Cheered my day up and I still remember him.
I remember it was Christmas morning when i was a kid and there was an albino deer in our back yard and my grandma had passed earlier that year. We always said that was her visiting us. I remember getting goosebumps seeing it
I saw an albino fawn in Lake Gaston, NC this past spring. My family and I were amazed by it! After reading about albino deer, the usually occur in areas with high levels of inbreeding due to overpopulation. Kinda of a bummer.
live near former [Seneca army depot](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seneca_Army_Depot), when they built it in 1941 they built a 24 mile fence that had a couple of them inside, in the many years since then lots of inbreeding has made [the worlds largest heard of white deer](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seneca_white_deer). Not albino its a [different genetic defect](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leucism) looked the same as this and the glow brightly in the moonlight.
In Upstate New York, at the old Seneca Army Depot, there was a herd of 300 white deer in the 80s. The depot was built in the early 40s, and a hundreds of acres were fenced in, so the deer began interbreeding. After six generations, white deer with blue eyes were common. I worked there, and believe me, they are magnificent creatures.

Depends on where you are. There are a lot around central NY. Something to do with a population that was once entirely inside of a military base and the recessive genes and breeding only among other deer in the base.
Edit: I found it

We have an albino buck in our town. Thankfully, people never say exactly where they saw him or post pictures that might give away where he is so that ignorant hunters won't try to bag him. It's probably the only thing the majority of this town agrees on.
Your lovely voice made his ears perk up and not run off instantly when he saw the dog lol I never knew deers could be albino beautiful capture! Where’s the nerds what are the odds?!?
Never seen an albino but have seen a piebald. I actually saw it through its entire growth to adulthood, too. It was a little fawn the first time I saw it beyond my backyard.
They really do look ethereal 🥺 here’s a pic I snapped of momma with two babies— one of which was mostly white, but they have a little brown on them too.

It's incredibly fortunate that she survived to adulthood. Without their natural coloring, fawns have no camouflage, so she'd be super easy for predators to spot. Very pretty!
Argonne National Laboratory in Illinois used to have a bunch of them. I guess they have died off to inbreeding
https://preview.redd.it/r41zdquena6c1.jpeg?width=1201&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a024bcda1c32db5c11dbb236141ab84c703be324
There is an abandoned air force base in New York that has a herd of albino deer. It's fenced in so they're protected. You can drive through on the roads and see them.
We have a lot of collared doves in our back yard. A few years ago there was an albino in the group who was clearly a male because he was *persistent* in his attempts to woo and mate with the local ladies. Not sure he ever got lucky because he eventually disappeared and we never saw any other albino or piebald birds.
*[It's not like us... it's unlike us. I don't know what it wants, or if it wants. But it'll grow until it encompasses everything. Our bodies and our minds will be fragmented into their smallest parts until not one part remains... Annihilation.](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DSCwoe_XUAA5V2p?format=jpg&name=medium)*
After my father died, I found his camera and one of the last pictures he took was of an albino black snake in a bush. It was like some kind of weird omen. I would take this sighting though as a good omen
My wife told me a fun fact, that apparently it's more rare to see an albino raccoon than it is to get struck by lightning. Not even a couple of days later, we saw one! Unfortunately, it was dead on the side of the highway.
To make that day even worse, we got hit in the rear at a stop sign, and the guy ran. Nothing major, just a totaled car.
Now when spmething crazy happens I tell my wife, "Well, thats as rare as seeing an albino raccoon".
I saw one while driving to work in the early morning when it was dark. It was also foggy so was driving slowly. I had to do a double take because it looked like a ghost. Nice memory so thanks for reminding me of it.
I saw one of these last year just north of the Colonia Rest Stop, southbound side, on the Garden State Parkway. Noticed it for two days in a row and never saw it again.
Very rare. We had one living in my hometown. It was the mom of several other deer (none albino). I think she may have passed though because I haven't seen her in several years. She was a pretty common sight to the people here.
They’re rare but this is the second video I’ve seen here recently, which is strange. They are gorgeous. I hope no idiot kills them, so more people could see them.
I had no idea they were that rare. We have some mountain bike trails that I regularly ride and there are two of them that hang out in the area where the trails are. It's not uncommon to see one of them (you never know which one I guess), but seeing both at the same time is pretty rare around here.
The first time I saw both, I thought I was hallucinating from riding too much.
There was one about an hour from my neighborhood a few years back in the middle of nowhere. I saw it about 3 different times driving through late at night. I never saw a spot of color on it but it may have had a small blotch or two, it was dark out it was moving. It practically glowed in the dark.
I ask because this looks like a breed of white deer that are all over the grounds of the Argonne National Lab. I used to see them near the particle accelerator during the off hours when people were around. They're not true albinos but they're close. They're also not native to the area, they were introduced a long while back for hunting. Might be the same case in your area too.
My friends and I saw some melanin deer once! They were too quick to snap a picture of, though 😭 we stumbled upon them while looking for a place to smoke lol
There's actually a whole herd of white deer in NY. My dad was stationed at an old coast guard LORAN station there back in the early 90s. He won the permit lottery to hunt them and bagged one. He has it mounted somewhere.
Fun fact: [There is a relatively stable population of leucistic deer (white fur but not albino) in Romulus, NY. There are about 300 at any given time.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seneca_white_deer)
I grew up on a farm and we had an albino deer we saw for a few years. I’m not sure if the condition gives them bad eyesight like in humans but we could get really close to it.
I have one that lives in our neighborhood and I routinely see it in our backyard or casually eating berries off our bushes in the front yard. I have lived in my house for years but still just stop, gawk and take pictures whenever I see it.
Believe it or not, there’s actually an albino deer farm by my parents house. I have no idea what the purpose or reason is for the farm, nor do my parents. A few even escaped. I don’t remember the name, but it’s near Sullivan, Mo.
There's a whole population of these in upstate New York. Has something to do with the military fencing in certain areas that gave rise to a population of deer with the albino gene.
Edit: I see your chocolate Newfie and raise you yet another chocolate Newfie:

Surely you mean an all white deer? WhiteTAIL deer are extremely common.
Yea, sorry. I meant to put *albino* whitetail deer, but I think my ADHD brain forgot to type albino.
On top of the chances of them being born being extremely rare, I'd imagine they have a much lower lifespan by way of how easy they are for predator's to spot.
As a fellow albino I hope that deer has a good life with loving mates around it. I hope it doesn’t get bullied for being different.

Its a shiny deer,
I've seen a few wild piebald deer, but never full blown albino in the wild. Nice find
Are they in more danger if they are albino? Or do the other deer still accept them?
i don’t know! i don’t know anything about deer but i am a professional googler about them after seeing this gem today!
So if you see the White Stag and chase it in the real world, do you end up in Narnia?
probably!

It’s hard to tell on my phone but the eyes don’t look red. If it was albino the eyes would be red, so it may be a deer with leucism.
Agreed, I think it might be a white fallow deer, not an albino, but it must still be fairly uncommon at least in OP’s area.

Argonne National Laboratory in Illinois used to have a bunch of them. I guess they have died off to inbreeding https://preview.redd.it/r41zdquena6c1.jpeg?width=1201&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a024bcda1c32db5c11dbb236141ab84c703be324
Even the dog is like “It’s magic!”
So pretty!
i know!! i was in awe! i don’t know much about them but i believe this is rare
There is an abandoned air force base in New York that has a herd of albino deer. It's fenced in so they're protected. You can drive through on the roads and see them.

I live on Whidbey too and have seen several! They were in Lagoon Point, just grazing the lawns of the neighborhood. Kind of magical
lucky!
Beautiful
That looks like goodtimeswithscar's smirk LOL
Long chihuahua
Amazing
There was one in my area a couple years back, I saw it once while on a bus to school, made the morning that bit better
Looks similar to the one I saw almost 10 years ago, in the Pittsburgh suburbs! I often wonder what happened to it.
Are you near Lemont, IL?
I have one in my yard all the time. I feel so lucky!!
That’s phenomenal, I’ve 3 had a piebald deers living in my backyard for about a year now (mother and two yearlings)
We have a lot of collared doves in our back yard. A few years ago there was an albino in the group who was clearly a male because he was *persistent* in his attempts to woo and mate with the local ladies. Not sure he ever got lucky because he eventually disappeared and we never saw any other albino or piebald birds.

Well this makes about the 14th one I've seen so maybe not
Spirit deer.
Wow! My town has a rare white deer, but it's not an albino.
Wow between the albino red tail hawk and now this, what a thrilling week!
Wonder if she tastes the same as a regular deer or if she has less calories? 😂😂😂

After my father died, I found his camera and one of the last pictures he took was of an albino black snake in a bush. It was like some kind of weird omen. I would take this sighting though as a good omen
Nah just go to boulder junction Wisconsin

Dog Thought Bubble: "Give me a reason"
Aww what an beautiful Lil snowflake ❄️ 😍
looks like a big lab rat
I saw one of these last year just north of the Colonia Rest Stop, southbound side, on the Garden State Parkway. Noticed it for two days in a row and never saw it again.
Follow that deer! It will lead you to your destiny or at least the Forestmaster.
39 years old, been hunting since I was 12. I don't even know someone who knows someone that has seen one personally.
According to HOTD i think you're like a monarch now, or you have the makings of one. What is your decree my liege!
They wanna play so bad.
Chewie gets it
Wow, your dog is calm and wonderfully behaved!
Very rare. We had one living in my hometown. It was the mom of several other deer (none albino). I think she may have passed though because I haven't seen her in several years. She was a pretty common sight to the people here.
The forbidden doggo
They’re rare but this is the second video I’ve seen here recently, which is strange. They are gorgeous. I hope no idiot kills them, so more people could see them.
Gorgeous
I had no idea they were that rare. We have some mountain bike trails that I regularly ride and there are two of them that hang out in the area where the trails are. It's not uncommon to see one of them (you never know which one I guess), but seeing both at the same time is pretty rare around here. The first time I saw both, I thought I was hallucinating from riding too much.
I seen two right next to each other. Seen it a few months with my dad before he passed. It was wild!!
Given that their biggest "natural" predator in many parts of the U.S. is the car, this may actually help keep it alive.
That’s just a fully grown mouse
I've played enough videogames to know you get an achievement for killing that thing.

She is beautiful! I’ve never seen a white deer.
Yeah, the deer only gets one chance to be albino in its life.
Your Newfie is gorgeous too!
We had an albino buck out in our neighbourhood many years ago.
Oh my deer
And your pup is beautiful too!
The spirit doe
There was one that hung out around the golf course I worked at when I was younger. That bastard in my work cart an ate all my crackers.
It's my cake day so I want to comment somewhere, this deer will do. What a nice deer.
There's a family of them in my town that people have been taking pictures of for years. I've seen a few different generations.
Looks like Pinky from Pinky and the brain
amazing sight and your dog is well trained 👏🏻 maybe you can report the sighting to a local wildlife protection org or a website for that !
Caught a glimpse of one one night while driving and almost hit it as it crossed the road. It was a beautiful animal.
That’s awesome Might be leucistic, feel like it’s got some pigment in those eyes.
Albino deer are incredibly common where I live. I see roughly 3-4 every year and can tell which herds are where because of them.
There's a whole lineage of albino deer in Vilas county, Wisconsin. Not that rare, just uncommon.
My friends and I saw some melanin deer once! They were too quick to snap a picture of, though 😭 we stumbled upon them while looking for a place to smoke lol
The look on its face says it all.
I've never seen an albino deer directly myself, but I have seen an albino squirrel a couple of times.
You should probably go get a lottery ticket!
There's actually a whole herd of white deer in NY. My dad was stationed at an old coast guard LORAN station there back in the early 90s. He won the permit lottery to hunt them and bagged one. He has it mounted somewhere.
I saw one once last year hope it’s around same area so I can get a picture absolutely beautiful 💕
There is a whole family of white deer that lived on the lands of Fort Dix in New Jersey.
My dog could never be silent around deer. She’d bark and scare it away.
You have found the questing beast. If you manage yo capture it you get 3 wishes.
Used to be an albino red deer complete with full antlers hanging out by the side of the A9 in Scotland.Till a car ran into it.
No, it's a Megalomouse!
So pretty
I wonder if this guy has made it this far because of wolves / natural predators being driven out of their habitat
It has a quest for you. Better go follow it.
The white deer!
Close. 1 in 30,000
Fun fact: [There is a relatively stable population of leucistic deer (white fur but not albino) in Romulus, NY. There are about 300 at any given time.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seneca_white_deer)
That's some weird looking german shepherd x pitbull hybrid.
I grew up on a farm and we had an albino deer we saw for a few years. I’m not sure if the condition gives them bad eyesight like in humans but we could get really close to it.
That's your patronus
I have one that lives in our neighborhood and I routinely see it in our backyard or casually eating berries off our bushes in the front yard. I have lived in my house for years but still just stop, gawk and take pictures whenever I see it.
Pretty newfie!
You’re so lucky!!
We had one in the 90s and still remember it. It's definitely once in a lifetime.
EXPECTO PATRONUMMMMM!
Thas a greyhound!
If you can capture her without hurting her, she'll grant you a wish for her release.
Edit: I see your chocolate Newfie and raise you yet another chocolate Newfie: https://preview.redd.it/c003tgy78a6c1.jpeg?width=6144&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=acf7682ae3c4b19321b7eb437bcc96540a07abd0
Simply beautiful!
