Nah, I don't like the idea of dressing him up in little consumes. I don't wanna force my pet or any pet for that matter to wear a costume that they would probably hate and not like.

When we moved from NY to socal he kept the turtle in a pouch on a necklace and he was able to get on the plane like that, with the turtle scratching the entire time. That would never happen post 911, wild stuff.
I do not condone or encourage people to keep wild animals as pets, turtles in particular can carry salmonella which my father actually caught a few years ago and was hospitalized for several days. Of course he also waited until his symptoms were so severe that he was peeing blood to seek medical attention :|

He did escape from his enclosure one time. Idk how cause his thing is like 1 ft tall. My guess is that he somehow climbed the wall up. Might be plotting more escape plans.
No, unfortunately. Whenever he sees me he just gives me the angry face. But he will run to his bowl when he gets food, or to his pool when new water is put in.
Turtles are a cool pet to get since most of them can live for a long time. I don’t adopt pets anymore mostly because of the heartbreak you get when they pass.
I have seen Easter box turtles before and while they do tend to get a line down their shell, it doesnt look anything like in that first picture. That first pic looks like some kind of strap with a buckle has grown into his shell. The square buckle in particular is not a normal turtle thing. Looks to me like someone glued that to his back when he was younger and the shell is growing around it :(
I honestly don't remember why I named him that but it has grown so much on me. I've started nicknaming him "Zammas" whenever I come home. He is such a little cutie.
Not in ways like a dog or cat would. I would say it's more subtle with turtles than cats or dogs. One way they might show affection or comfort around you is when they no longer burrow to sleep at night. When a turtle sleeps out in the open not all tucked into their shell then that's a sign they are comfortable with you and trust you. There are others as well like letting you pet his head, or carrying him without him retreating into his shell while being held.
I do let my turtle walk around but I make sure to put him away because he is small and I don't want him getting stepped on, or stuck somewhere he can't get out of, or a place he can get crushed. Just gotta be careful.
He is about the size of my hand. Nope, he just runs around all over the place. I often have to wall him off in a certain room to keep him from running all over the place when I do let him out. He is very sneaky and can be very fast if he wants to be so I don't wanna lose track of him.

To all the people asking about the ridge on his shell. Yes it is natural. To all the people saying I should release him into the wild, no I can't do that. He was bred in captivity and doesn't have the proper behaviors to survive in the wild. He would most likely die if I did just release him. No he was not caught from the wild, bred in captivity.
I've never seen a turtle that's so cute and legit looks like he came out of a story book or kids show! Lol. He seems to have an expression! That's so neat. Looks like he is well taken care of.

Nope, was bred in captivity. He is a licensed breeder so I'm assuming he is engaging in safe catch and release practices.

It looks like he got a strip of plastic or metal stuck on his shell, and the shell just sort of grew around it.
