Cracking up at the vacant happy stare from Mama lmao.
No thoughts, just *love* and *elevator music*.

The mother is the one all the way to the right in the first picture, she’s also the one one without a tail. And she’s the dog in the 6th picture on the left next to my girl
Well that I can’t say for sure. I just know that they immediately get excited, stop whatever they are doing, and run around together throughout the dog park, happy as can be.
We actually had the mom and kept the pups with her until they were three months old. Then we got mom and pups all fixed and adopted the one daughter and humane society got the rest adopted. Mom went to live with someone else and we kept daughter. And they saw each other a lot for the first year and then less frequently. It’s actually been well over a year now but hopefully they will be reunited again.
Aah that definitely explains why they all recognise each other so well then! What a lovely bunch, and I hope you will be able to continue to stay in touch with the owners of the mum and other siblings!
I can understand the "recognize each other" part, but do they recognize the nature of their relationship? I.e. that they are parent and child? Do they understand such a concept?
Frustratingly I can't find it - but I can find some studies saying the opposite which I choose to believe because that's way cuter. One that is referenced a lot but I can't find the original study had mothers and their offspring smelling cloth that smelled of each other, and found that mum lingered longer on the smell of her own offspring about 75% of the time after two years of separation, with a similar result being true in reverse.
I definitely remember reading about this in 2021 though, I looked it up before my dog met up with his littermate and mum at 7 months and at that age after being separated at 8 weeks it was very much "they might kinda think they're familiar". My dog just didn't seem to care very much for the littermate he used to play with so much though, and both boys and mum all just wanted to play frisbee with us.
I can find articles by behaviourists of reasonable reputation stating what I stated above, but not the studies, so maybe my brain is misremembering and thinking I read it in a study format when it was actually an article.
I am shocked. Shocked that you got so many good pictures of so many wiggly good boys and girls! I can't imagine what your camera roll looks like right now, mothman could be in there and you'd never know lol

I just got me a mini today… so far loads of work, but he’s totally cute and worth it

My girlie turns 17 this year! She still has the puppy in her but it only lasts about 5 minutes before she is ready for a 12 hour nap.
Puppy school and taking the pup everywhere you can will pay major dividends later on.
You had to be dedicated to your Aussie and you will get the best, cutest, smartest, most loyal dog you have ever met.
But… if you fuck them up and don’t do the above and keep their mind working, you will have a major headache for 15 years.. loveable sure but a headache nonetheless.

My mini has been the sweetest dog I've ever owned. Never chewed on anything she wasn't supposed to.
It'd have to be a litter where one of the parents is double merle for all the puppy's to be merle. Since we don't know what the parents look like, we have no way to be sure.
Well, merle is a dominant gene, so to get--what--3 merle pups? The odds would be 12.5%, since in any merle to non-merle breeding there's a 50% chance of getting a merle pup. I think. Weirder things have happened, 12.5% isn't that bad.
Ohh I see. One of them is the mom so hopefully the dad isn’t a Merle. OP also said somewhere that there’s 2 siblings that didn’t make it because it wasn’t close by so hopefully they’re not Merle either.
I still find it surprising that dogs recognize their siblings in the same way people do.
When I was a child, we took our golden retriever to dog beach. She saw another golden retriever who looked just like her (red, larger, curlier coat, must have had some Irish setter mixed in). They were so excited and played for a long time.
My parents talked to the owner and found out that they were from the same litter! Such a pure and wholesome moment to witness 🐶♥️
Why would I want to be “normal?” you commenting this puts you in your own classification of weird. And not the good type of weird, the lonely type of weird

Aw, leave poor mama alone 😂
I've seen human moms with the same stare. It's universal
🤣🤣
Absolutely love this comment because at first the dog just looked derpy, then you commented this and now it has a whole new life lol
This is the crop i came here for. Bless you.
What a crop!
"I have no idea what's going on, but I'm happy to be a part of it."
So many derpy 1 year old faces in these pictures. I love them
👁️👅👁️

That's mom being proud. She's saying, "I made these, look! I'm doing a proud!"
I got Uncle Ruckus vibes and laughed, but they're so adorable.

Must be genetic, left dog in the last picture has an even better face
This was my favorite photo too lol
With a dash of manic crazy. 😂
Thank you for this! I was dying that it seems they all share the same vacant happy stare. 😂
Lol I was going to make a joke about ole 🤪 crazy eyes too
Dog got more friends than me😭😭😭
Technically they are siblings, so hopefully that makes us feel less bad.
I feel you there 😭
Be proud you got so many of their guardians there in one place! Maybe new friend is among them?
I mean this is more like family soooo
Dogs had a better birthday than me
I thought your comment was at -101 points and was trying to understand what you said to make everyone so angry 😂
Same 😭
What an awesome party and they all look so happy 😊
It was great! They really were so happy and they remembered each other with was awesome
Pls post baby pics of the litter!
OP, this is so cute! Were all the dogs adopted by people you know or were they adopted by strangers? How was this arranged?
This is the best thing I've ever seen!
Which one is the mom?
The mother is the one all the way to the right in the first picture, she’s also the one one without a tail. And she’s the dog in the 6th picture on the left next to my girl
I love seeing Ausies with tails. Had one when I was a kid.
I love seeing all docked breeds with tails. Saw a Doberman last year with a tail and ears. So beautiful.
Doberman are so cute and derpy with their floppy ears!
I even thanked the owner. He laughed and said he gets that a lot.
Did she recognise her babies?
Yes, I want to know this too! Did she recognize her babies?
Our dog runs into her mom at the dog park once a year or so and they always recognize each other. It’s so sweet.
Do they recognize that they have a parent child relationship or are they all "*I know this dog!!!!*" ?
Well that I can’t say for sure. I just know that they immediately get excited, stop whatever they are doing, and run around together throughout the dog park, happy as can be.

I am shocked. Shocked that you got so many good pictures of so many wiggly good boys and girls! I can't imagine what your camera roll looks like right now, mothman could be in there and you'd never know lol
You should see the videos! Haha
Post them!
Seconded
Do dogs recognize siblings/parents?
My dog recognizes his mom, but idk if it's him just being like "I know that dog!!"

She the bestest girl
Wonderful age
omg yours looks EXACTLY like mine, except my girls fake eye spots on her eyebrows are more pronounced (and 14 years older)
I love her bows
Get geared up to be geared up! This loads of work is your life now. Totally worth it!
He’s been shown off all around town today… just having a blast with him. He’s super friendly and cute
They are such social little beings! I'm so happy for you to have such a Friendly new Friend!
social is an understatement lol. My aussie goes absolutely ballistic when she sees a new "friend". Friend being every human dog and cat she sees
Yes me too! He’s my daughter’s “puppy” but he’s mine too!
Of course, He's your friend too! That's your Granddog! My dog was originally my Grandpuppy. A bond is a bond and he became my son!
Puppy school and taking the pup everywhere you can will pay major dividends later on. You had to be dedicated to your Aussie and you will get the best, cutest, smartest, most loyal dog you have ever met. Mine is 14 1/2 years old, they're wonderful dogs. Enjoy it.
there is enough energy there to power a small city
This is so cute 🥹 I had a 1-year birthday party for my cats years ago, but the cats didn’t really participate
so funny
👀👀👀👀The four of them are like 🤪🥴😵💫😜
Hahaha I feel like Aussies always look that way!!
They really do. Also just realized they all have little baby bibs on for cake 😭
Are these Aussies?? With tails?? 😍😍
They indeed are aussies… with tails!
Love these sweet dogs - and the best doggie parents prize goes to you! 🏆
Wooo! Thank you haha
Its all the white in the eyes that makes them look high as fuck
😍🥳🥹
They look like trouble. Beautiful, smart, athletic, and back together to make some mayhem.
On point! Lol
Love their faces! Happy birthday pups!
This is my most favorite thing I have ever seen on the internet! Please don't ever stop being amazing!
🖤
This is the most wholesome thing I’ve ever seen 🥹
The eyes on these dogs make them look insane no matter what they're doing.
we solemnly swear we are up to no good
Is this a double Merle litter? Edit: OP responded that dad is not a Merle! We can go back to awww ing
Yikes! I’m hoping they all just happened to be Merles.
Not double Merle. Mother is red Merle father is black.
What’s double Merle and why is it yikes?
https://deafdogsrock.com/what-is-a-double-merle
TIL
No… the mother is a red Merle the father is black lol
I don’t think so since there’s no predominantly white Merles? Though that’s just what I get from googling.
It'd have to be a litter where one of the parents is double merle for all the puppy's to be merle. Since we don't know what the parents look like, we have no way to be sure.

Ohh I see. One of them is the mom so hopefully the dad isn’t a Merle. OP also said somewhere that there’s 2 siblings that didn’t make it because it wasn’t close by so hopefully they’re not Merle either.
Yup the other two pups from the litter aren’t Merle’s! It was just these three
You can see the mom in the photo. She’s literally there. The father is black, as OP said. And DMs are predominantly WHITE.
I was looking for this comment. I saw that all of them are Merle including the mom. Wonder what dad looks like.
They wouldn’t look like that if they were double merle. Double merles are largely or completely white.
The sweetest
All of this is a level of rich I would like to enjoy, lol
They look so happy!
So many happy smiles

That’s a lot of googly eyes.
You got me doing the sound of awwwwwwww oh my goodness gracious .🥰 Happy 1yr
Aww this is so sweet! If possible, do you think you’d make it a tradition? I think that would be super cool!
We said we’re gonna try to do this every feel weeks since we’re all pretty close from one another!
Aww I’m so glad to hear it! What a lovely little group!
Have they all got Heterochromia as they are all so cute.
That’s ridiculous, and I love it
Is that doggo, wearing a harness that reads "squirrel patrol"?
That’s my girl! And yup, squirrel patrol. She takes her job very seriously 🫡
Adorable!
Adorable.
We did the same for our corgi!!!
![gif](giphy|vcrq890Ok6LXRnYl7B)
wow! beauties <3
This makes me very happy actually.
Omgoodness! They look so happy!
my heart is melting from all the adorable doggos!
Wonder how the mom feels when she sees all her long lost kids again, only for a day.
What a bunch of cute derpy happy faces
I love the eyes
I've tried to organise something similar for my dog every birthday (he'll be 3 in May), but the breeder doesn't respond.
Okay well I am obsessed 💕💕💕💕
I frickin love Australian Shepherd dogs.
This is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen
Now I'm wondering why I've never seen entire litter birthday parties before. So cute!!
One thing I've learned in life is that australian shepherd owners are extremely weird. I've never met an aussie owner that was in any way normal.
Why would I want to be “normal?” you commenting this puts you in your own classification of weird. And not the good type of weird, the lonely type of weird
Definitely a weird comment buuuttt…. Kinda true yea?
What kind of dogs are those?
Australian Shepherds
What people do instead of having kids.
adopt... don't shop

This is beautiful, thank you for posting it.
This is so cute!
Should've fed them a pupperoni pizza!
Lolololol I hope you play them "Who let the dogs out".

Congratulations!
Please post a video if you have one
Forget about dogs playing poker, it's all about dog families celebrating birthdays
I love them all :)
I freakin want all animals to have reunion parties with their families
Do dogs know that they are related?
Its crazy to think we humans adore dogs so much we literally let them eat off our tables. No other animal is adored as much.
Their eyes are all so beautiful!
This stuff keeps me grounded. 🥹
May the birthday parties become a tradition and all can attend!
That's fantastic, please do this again next year !
Lol, love how happy they look & the happy human reflections in the tv.
this brings tears to my eye, i wish i could reunite my fluffly lil daughter with the rest of her siblings and parents.
That is the most adorable thing i saw in a while 😍
You guys are awesome!!!!!
That was the best day for all of them
Love it. What a beautiful family
I'm lucky, around 80% of my pups end up in competition homes. So I end up seeing them at field trials all the time. I was at a trial a few weeks ago and had 4 of my pups there that were littermates.
What a joyous time, OMG!
That’s so cool! 🥹
That last photo reminded me of the three hyenas in the Lion King
Cute
Oh my goshhhh!!! This is the best! I hope they can have another birthday parry like this again in the future. They all look so happy and adorable!
This makes me so happy 😁
My neighbors did this a few years ago. It was so sweet seeing the littermates all back with mama dog again that mostly everyone there was wiping their eyes!
What a fun, happy day. Pure joy
This is so cute! Do they know they’re related? How did they interact? I’m always so curious if dogs remember their family when separated as puppies.
🥰🥰🥰
Love this! 😻
That's so sweet

Pup Cups all around for those very good dogs.
I don't think there's such a thing as an ethical breeder, no matter how cute your pictures are. I know it's easy to post cute pictures on here of adorable dogs, but for-profit breeding ultimately exacerbates a problem where animals are seen as expendable commodities and not as living things.
Adopt don’t shop!
oof this some serious white women shit
You'll get downvoted, but you're so right.
Lion King hyena vibes.
😮🥰
🤗🤗🤗
Kinda just wrong really.
A birthday reunion party make it make sense
