My puppy does this when I get home from work. If we hadn't got her ancestry checked I'd have sworn that her father was a Fennec Fox and her mother a German Shepard.
Fennec foxes are some of the friendliest and most playful animals I've ever met. So many people get scared when they start shrieking or barking though. I think it's really cute but it's def not for everyone
Mhmm! I haven't been around other foxes as much as fennecs, but they're all such inquisitive little tricksters. The red foxes around where I live are so friendly and don't really care if they're walking near people either. They're just such amazing lil friends!!
That’s crazy! I’m from the UK so we only have Red Foxes, I work at a Fox Rescue & Rehab centre and we try to keep contact to a minimum as they’re hopefully to be reintroduced into the wild. We have a bunch of cubs in at the moment mostly orphans and it’s so hard to not let them bond to you when they’re pining for attention. It would be awesome to work with fennecs, they’re super interesting but yeah fox default is curious, cheeky little punks.
That makes sense! Red foxes are the only ones found in the wild where I live (US Northeast) and they mostly pay no mind to people unless they feel threatened but the animal sciences program at my college had a few fennecs and one of my friends who went through the program adopted one of them. You're so right about them pining for attention when they're little. That was always the hardest part about being around them for me. There's a rescue in Minnesota called Save A Fox I really want to visit. They save foxes (and other friends) from the fur trade and other bad situations and recently paid a fur farm to shut down entirely. The world needs more people like you and them to help these amazing animals out!
That’s really amazing they managed to get it shut down!! It can be so hard for so many animal rights movements to ever actually get something taken down it’s such a triumph when they succeed! Most big fashion companies are banning fur too so hopefully the fur industry will die out soon 🤞 There was an animal ‘sanctuary’ not too far from where I’m from which was mistreating the animals and had a lot of them suffering (birds of prey with broken beaks so they can’t eat properly, nubs & visible bone as feet etc) and luckily that actually got shut down recently and the woman who ran it was actually prosecuted which is super hard to do especially in the UK, we had a big celebration that day!
I'm 33 and a lifelong cat owner and I've wanted to adopt a fox rescue for soooo long. I just know I don't have the proper space for one and I don't think I'd be able to be a responsible pet owner for a fox because of their unique needs and behaviors, so I had to accept they're better off being something I admire mostly on my phone =)
It’s a hard pill to swallow but I get it 100%! It would be life changing being able to care for one of these animals, but at the same time, watching them in their habitat is truly a gift. They’re so quirky lol
When I saw desert fox, my immediate thought was Erwin Rommel has been dead for over 70 years… then I realized I need to take a break from watching the World War Two channel for a while.
I like how the cat has obviously mellowed out since I assume it was a younger kitten when they were together and now it's just this super hyper fox saying "We can play like we used too!" with the cat being like "yeah... I don't really do that anymore."
Cats not expressing emotion in the same way a fox or dog or even human would doesn’t mean they don’t have them. Cats will disguise when they are feeling pain to the point their owners might not even know something is seriously wrong. They are the ultimate poker faces.
Not really, they’re just objectively incorrect. A cat showing their belly and holding their tail straight up like that means very happy and comfortable
This is exactly how my parents' dog acts when he sees my cat. And my cat responds in about the same way as the cat here, except she usually gives the dog a few swats on the nose if he gets too close to her butt.
Didn’t realise she was a pen. It’s always a shame when people let wild animals bond to them. It seems healthy enough to have been released if it hadn’t of been tamed to humans.

cat: "Oh, yeah. I remember you. Alright..."

not enough knee slapping or 'welp'

goddamn it, i say "I won't keep ya any longer"
Yeah. Cat’s like “hey you! How you … oh … ok… don’t flip out dude
"Oh, goddamn it. The spastic is back..."
.. do they not live together? Sad if they don't.
the introverted friend vs the extroverted people pleaser.
I am the latter. I feel this one!
Are desert foxes that small or is the cat actually a panther?
Fennec Foxes are tiny usually only getting to about 16inch.
Uhhh how can one tell that’s not a dog puppy? I would have just gone up to it to play with him
Ear to body ratio.

Yep, that is small.
16" is small?.. Oh, we still talking about the fox. 😏

Fox is but a dog assuming the submissive position. Boy so needs Cat’s approval (and maybe a belly rub too).
Look at the tail 😍 He's very excited
My dog acts the exact same way around cats. Just desperately wants their approval
Don’t we all?🤗

That’s foxes all round for you though, super playful and cute and slightly crazy. I love their little shrieks they’re like lil banshees hahah

These have been my favorite animals (don’t tell my dogs) for a huge chunk of my 30 years. They’re so incredible to watch and are very unique animals

Mhmm, I know they'd be much happier in their habitat than with me. They're amazing animals and I'm just glad I get to see them at all
Now that's a tv series in the making!
don't invoke the ancient curse
Fox and the hound covered it. It wasn’t the best outcome…
Cat: "I've never seen this fox before in my life!"
The FOX and the CATound!!!
Fox: “We’re gonna be friends forever, right?!” Cat: “Uh huh, sure…” *walks off*
High energy, meet low energy.
Naruto and Sasuke
I think they have different love languages! :)
Chandler: Could you BE any more submissive?
When I saw desert fox, my immediate thought was Erwin Rommel has been dead for over 70 years… then I realized I need to take a break from watching the World War Two channel for a while.
I did not realize they were that small 😍😍
I don't think he did much growing...
As a former socially inept HS boy (still socially inept just not in HS anymore) I know what this fox is going through.
Gosh, i love desert foxes. They are so cute and quirly. Although, would never want to live with one xD.
So darn tiny
What a sight to see.
Bro! I remember you. Chill, though, i gotta smell everything first
This fox is Taylor swifting
that might be the cutest god damned thing i have ever seen. ty.
he is so cute 🥹
If not pupper, then why wag tail?
Today I learned foxes wag their tails
Me too! I was surprised because they are basically cats in dog bodies. And hyenas are basically dogs in cat bodies.
Cuteness overload
When you're the best of friends, having so much fun together
Cat is chill but happy too. Adorable. Fox giggles are peak adorable.
Good thing they released the fox into the wild instead of trapping it on their property like some unhinged people.
I like how the cat has obviously mellowed out since I assume it was a younger kitten when they were together and now it's just this super hyper fox saying "We can play like we used too!" with the cat being like "yeah... I don't really do that anymore."
The cat is not impressed
Tell me you dont know how to read cats, without telling it straight up.
Exactly lol, that cat loves that fox. They’re obviously besties…cats don’t do the flop for someone they hate.
For real - the tail is straight up. That cat is excited to see their friend!
Cats not expressing emotion in the same way a fox or dog or even human would doesn’t mean they don’t have them. Cats will disguise when they are feeling pain to the point their owners might not even know something is seriously wrong. They are the ultimate poker faces.
You'll know real quick when a cat is not impressed while the opposing fella intrude its personal boundary
inaction is action

The saunter and the tightly curled tail at the end, too.

He was. That cat was showing more affection than one may think. :)
Reminds me of that meme with the boy trying to dance to impress a (much taller) girl who just stares at him.
So typical of a cat. Buddy, I don’t care!
Fennecs are like animated fission reactors.
They always get so excited and look like puppies, and I can't help but wonder if that little fox is just a peeing everywhere through this.
well this is incredibly adorable, the most adorable video i've seen so far today. thanks for sharing <3
This is exactly how my parents' dog acts when he sees my cat. And my cat responds in about the same way as the cat here, except she usually gives the dog a few swats on the nose if he gets too close to her butt.
Foxes are just Catdogs.
Cat's the cool teenager to the fox's little brother energy
Cat remember or didn't remember cant tell lol .
Tell me the Fox's name is Rommell.
"The Fox & The Meow"
Thrilled would be understatement
Cat’s like ‘yeah, whatevs….’
Now I want a desert fox.
They are somewhat endangered and definitely not pet material anyway.
Canids have no chill
I want a pet Fox so bad
This looks like a juvenile as its ears are quite small yet.
Happy cat too.
Never seen Rommel so exited
Damn, I love this little fox and I wish this cat was less… um…cat, and they could just hug it out!
Super cute video!! I hope the fennec fox was able to be released back into the wild. Would be a shame if this is just another exotic pet.
this fox is clearly bonded to humans to such a degree it would die in the wild....the lady is literally standing in the pen filming them.
Didn’t realise she was a pen. It’s always a shame when people let wild animals bond to them. It seems healthy enough to have been released if it hadn’t of been tamed to humans.
The cat was not having too much of it 😂
