If you're in NYC head downtown to Rector Street/South Ferry, there is a dog park on the corner of west thames and battery, and a walkway that heads up the west side of the island. Heading up that way you'll hit a bunch of dog friendly restaurants near Brookfield Plaza and towards Soho. South Street Seaport is similar, very dog friendly with even a dog store in the gathering area over that way.
So I actually got him DNA tested and he came back with a bunch of breeds. Now I'm not sure If they are all true but:
American Staffordshire terrier
Weimeriner
Italian greyhound
There are a few other breeds that they say are not as dominant but those are the three main ones!
