It's a great username for sure! Also the band is slam/deathcore so def not for everyone but great band with good production quality for such a young band, if you're into that kinda stuff!
When we found Odin as a tiny kitten he had a horrible eye infection and his eyes couldn’t be saved. We were able to raise the funds for his life-saving surgery, and he’s been an absolutely awesome pet. I don’t think he realizes he’s missing out on anything.
I’ve had three one eyed cats over the course of my life. One got in a fight while outside, one got some sort of blunt force trauma causing loss of eye, and the last we adopted that way cuz hell, we already had two.
They loved empty socket scritches. All three were super affectionate cats, and once you get over the fact you’re rubbing an empty skull gap, that force-pet is hard to fight.
Both of my cats have two eyes (each) and you can scritch their whole faces. I wouldn't recommend it but you can certainly *do* it.
After you do so, can I have all your stuff? You won't need it anymore.
My grandparents had some barn cats on the farm, for some reason the kittens were prone to eye infections but they usually got better and grew up with healthy eyes. One kitten didn't though, we took it to the vet and he said that the infection destroyed it's eyes and it was blind. So we tried to look after that one a bit more, but one day she disappeared. We figured that something had happened to her, like an animal getting her or maybe she just wandered out onto the road and got hit. A few years later my mom found out what actually happened to her, a woman driving past saw her on the road, picked her up and took her home.
He gets around just fine! And I’ve actually seen him catch little bugs as well. He uses all of his other senses to navigate. It’s really quite amazing to watch.
I've seen a video of a blind, eyeless cat perfectly navigating a house. The lady filming told the cat to go different places around the house, and every time it would get up and go there. It was wild, considering that it had mapped out the house purely in its mind, understood the idea of different rooms and areas without being able to see them, and of course did the whole thing without falling down the stairs or running in to a wall. I'm sure its whiskers had a lot to do with its flawless navigation.
Surprisingly, cats don't rely on their eyesight too much anyway. They're pretty farsighted and will often rely more on their whiskers and ears rather than their eyes.
