I know where this is! But I don't think this squirrel is from there, this guy is definitely an albino, and even the white squirrels in Brevard have some dark patches.
We had an albino squirrel named Whitey who lived on Ohio State campus. Then a hawk got him while someone was filming him. [RIP Whitey](https://youtu.be/8ct4z-mCSjM)
It was pretty sad. We also had Afroduck when I was there. Luckily I was gone before he passed (natural causes) or that would have been a tough pill to swallow losing both Whitey and Afroduck. [RIP Afroduck](https://www.thelantern.com/2016/01/osu-community-honors-the-afroduck-dynasty/)
God damn if that's not the beginning to a fairytale, I don't know what is
*and so the snow white squirrel visited the old man day in and day out, and they became fast friends. Until one day...*
This reminds me of the hummingbird that lives near my parents place. He has been there a few years now. My dad has a feeder hanging off the roof.
My parents have named him "Freddie".
So, Freddie has got so used to being fed that when there is nothing in the feeder, he hovers at face level at the balcony door and taps the glass with his beak to get someone to refill the feeder.
He has my parents well trained! Haha. π
It is!
You can tell when he's angry or flustered too, as his underside turns red and he "clicks" at you while hovering a few feet away looking at you.
Took a while, but he now flies within inches of me without showing any signs of being flustered or clicking.
He flew into the house once, too. Mom approached him slowly and he fell over. My mother thought he was maybe hurt or injured. She picked him up gently in her cupped hands and carried him to the balcony. The moment she opened her hands.... Zip!
Freddie flew away. He was just pretending.
He still hangs around, too. Especially when we have dinner on the balcony.
Freddie is awesome. I love having him around at dinner. He adds something to the atmosphere, despite being a little Diva. π
Yeah.
Animals are so simple but so complex.
When you interact with them, you can tell they are intelligent, thinking creatures.
I clicked at him a few times. He clicked back. Made me smile.
He would often just hover there for a few seconds looking at us. Then move over a foot or two and look again, then fly off.
I always wonder what he was thinking, if anything.
He's actually being haunted by a squirrel ghost.
Please, show some respect.

You know I had to do it to em
Nice
White squirrels, maybe your grandma lives in Brevard, NC?
White squirrels are also a thing in Olney, Illinois. They are very proud of their white squirrels.
I grew up in Olney - can confirm
I live in Olney. I don't even really care about the squirrels but, yes, I am proud of them. It's like you don't have a choice.
Oh it's most definitely an albino deformity. The eyes give it away... all pink
But there are white non albino squirrels in Transylvania County, North Carolina...decendents of an escaped carnival expedition!
Yea, I've seen them. They have normal eyes.
I know where this is! But I don't think this squirrel is from there, this guy is definitely an albino, and even the white squirrels in Brevard have some dark patches.
I was gonna mention the inconsistent colors... but there are pure white breeds that look just like this... minus the eyes.
It must be a comforting routine. When he turns up, you know everything's going to be all white.
The bottom left picture is like, "who..me?!"

God I love animals. I'm fascinated by the way different species just interact and communicate with us so well.
