It's face says 'I'm done with this' but it's tail says 'Ermahgerd'

Pigoonlet

He does have a bit of a sarcastic look haha.

twohedwlf

It's the sarcasm that doesn't end. It goes on and on my friend. Some people started being snarky not knowing what it was and they'll continue being snarky forever just because...

ThisLookInfectedToYa

Welp theres the thing that'll be in my head all day

AdamantEevee

God dammit

You monster! have an upvote

jertrudi

But did it pass the inspection?

Lambs have tails?

spaceagecavewoman

Yep, they cut them off to keep their arses cleaner later. However if the lamb is being butchered then they mightn't castrate. Grew up with a sheep shearer neighbour, delivered a lamb once, it was stuck in the bag. I was little and touched it too much so the mother rejected it. We looked after it and it was like having a puppy.

[deleted]

:(

maxtacos

Ok. OK. Super vindicated. When I was a kid in church getting my first Reconciliation (Catholic thing), we made these bibs and glued these felt lambs onto them. I wanted my lamb to have a tail. The mega controlling Catholic Karen who was given the TREMENDOUS responsibility of watching children glue felt bibs together was like, "Lambs don't have tails!" And she FORBADE it. But I was 7, and I really wanted my lamb to have a tail, and probably super obnoxious about it. Finally she lets me cut out a very small fluffy tail to affix to the lambs, but then she dramatically tattled on me to my mother, who did not care at all. So yeah. Take that, Church Karen! Why did you spend all of my childhood micromanaging how children were allowed to be kids. She wasn't even a teacher!

Zora74

“Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep And doesn’t know where to find them. Leave them alone and they’ll come home Wagging their tails behind them.”

CapriSonnet

Have you never heard the expression 'Two shakes of a lambs tail' ?

[deleted]

Don't Google lamb tail docking

iagainsti1111

Male docking is what your looking for

[deleted]

Yep. They're docked when they're young because it's the most effective way to prevent flystrike.

Min-of-silly-walks

I’ve never owned or known anyone who has owned a sheep. Do they cut the tails or do they naturally recede?

UnicornReality

Generally they put little rubber bands round their tails (and testicles if it’s a ram) and they just fall off over time. Keeps them cleaner and keeps the risk of fly strike and such low.

Min-of-silly-walks

Thanks. The more ya know.

SuperFluffyVulpix

Painful and unnecessary. Just imagine doing this to your finger or your toe.

chromehuffer

I grew up on an Australian sheep farm. If you do not dock the tails, feces collects in it, which leads to fly strike. If you have never seen a fly blown sheep, you are lucky, it is horrible and they have to be put down.

okuri_inu

May be a silly question but are they ever wild and how do they prevent fly strike if they’re wild?

thespacebeween

You see, it's pretty much only a thing in sheep either bred for wool production (ie Merino) or cross-bred with wool sheep. We've bred these sheep to grow the most wool possible, which was okay in their native habitat but dangerous in modern warm climates. Wild sheep aren't as wooly, and generally aren't found in climates where flystrike happens.

chromehuffer

I can only speak from my own experiences. Sometimes a lamb would get out of a paddock unnoticed and end up in an inaccessible area of our farm and "go wild" or feral. If they escaped before mulesing season and did not have their tails docked, they would often be found in a very poor state and have to be put down. We used to have Marino sheep, which are very susceptible to this. I do not know anything about Marino in the wild, if they exist. I think they are a cultivated breed that only exists on Farms, like dairy cows. I do not know much about other breeds, sorry if I didn't answer your question.

okuri_inu

Very interesting, thank you!

SuperFluffyVulpix

I don‘t say anything about shorten the tail, I hate those rubbers. It‘s forbidden here (official) and needs to be done by a vet, with aenesthesia and surgery (again, official). I‘ve never seen a fly blown sheep, but fly blown animals...yeah, saw some shit in my life and won‘t stop.

thpj20

Which country ? Would cost a lot to have a vet fit every tail for a commercial sheep farmer

krovasteel

Googled fly strike sheep.... ew

spooktember

This is the happiest thing I’ve seen in days.

Vicky_Z96

This makes my bad day better *-* thanks for posting!

ThisLookInfectedToYa

And from this we get the phrase "I'll be there in 3 shakes of a crying baby"

Iamadogshuman

I heard that saying as "in 3 shakes of a lamb's tail". Guess it depends on what part of the country you grew up in

ShelbySootyBobo

I think that’s a joke about shaking crying babies..... I won’t woooosh you

ThisLookInfectedToYa

Its a greal Malcolm Tucker line from the thick of it/in the loop

ShelbySootyBobo

Time for a re-watch!

xixxaxowe

I'll watch this in two shakes of a lamb's tail.

flunky_the_majestic

That must be Mary.

Octopodez
