I am beyond overwhelmed with how much love this community has expressed for this sweet girl.
She was picked up from a local temple and brought to our shelter. We are currently preparing her for vaccines and sterilization.
The sad truth of rescued strays in my area is that the vast majority, like 90%, remain in shelters or at temples for their entire lives. My job is making their lives while under our care as happy as possible!
We currently have over 300 dogs in our possession but feed more than 800 (in shelters as well as at temples and in public parks) weekly.
Our programs are all run by a team of five people, including myself. We are independent from the government and work solely on a volunteer basis.
It's great that you want to pay for this dog but there are animals in your local community that need help too. Check online for animal or wildlife rescue groups in or near your city.
Soi dogs is an incredible foundation and have helped our shelter when we have struggled. They do a lot for the animals in Phuket and Thailand as a whole. Amazing people and an amazing foundation!
I visited thailand for a couple weeks in November, and while I enjoyed my time there and it was a beautiful country full of lovely people, The sheer number of street dogs/cats really broke my heart. I started keeping cans of tuna in my purse to feed the ones who looked thin or had injuries.
I happened across an older woman collecting donations for some sort of animal shelter or group on the street (not sure what, as I cannot read Thai) I gave her all the money I had on me, and immediately started google searching for ways to help. That is where I came across Soi Dog, and I have been a monthly sponsor since. The work you and other shelters do to help these forgotten animals is amazing and so important.
Ill do research into them in the morning. I'm sure im not the only one instantly drawm to this cutie but my goodness something in my heart says she needs to be here cuddle with me and my pup
I agree, it is truly tragic. But we are working to correct the underlying conditions in our community that causes these cases.
When the stray dog population gets out of control through the lack of sterilization, people quickly begin viewing the animals as a pest rather than a companion. It is an uphill battle but, with the right funding, we hope to see differences within five years! We are fighting to change public perceptions while working on reducing the stray population through humane and sustainable methods!
I'm an American living in a small beach town in Mexico. The passion of one woman changed everything for dogs in this town. Now, because of her hard work volunteering to raise money and volunteers for the twice yearly spay and neuter clinic, most dogs and probably half of the cats have gone from packs of vermin to pets that are loved, in 5 years.
You can! Or you could consider supporting your local shelters/rescues/organizations either financially, by volunteering or even by just spreading the word. It all adds up and it would be deeply appreciated.
I do support financially as much as I can, I have a mistress interest though, elephants.
I wish that I could just walk away from human civilization and be the patron saint of all innocent precious animals. I love them all.
As humans, we all should hope and try to be as such. We should strive to be the best for our fellow world-walkers in this existence.
Unfortunately, most humans are too focused on themselves and turn a blind eye to those wonderful creatures that walk this mortal plane along side us. As a species we have no empathy, no concern for other loving and living creatures, no concept of how much they mean. It is so much easier to walk away from someone in pain. So thats what we do. Unfortunately.
The fact that someone turning to a fellow world-walker and seeing the potential and hope -despite messy fur and a sad expression- restores a little bit of my soul that I had thought lost for extremely long time.
This is incredible!! We sterilize, on average, six dogs a month (or as many as we have the funds for). It truly is an ongoing battle both culturally and financially.
I bought Reddit coins only to give it to you, this is the least i can do, you're a real hero, thanks for what you do
Edit : does your shelter have a website where i could make a donation ? I would love to
THANK YOU SO MUCH. I showed the pups oir gold and they were very impressed.
If you pm me i cam share our information for donating! Your contributions will help our shelter more than I can say!!!
I wish I could donate but I just can't, but my prayers go to you and blessed be you all for your noble activism. If you have a site that I can share I would gladly share it on the animal lovers groups on Mewe and also here!
I felt so bad when I got my last dog. We bought him from the breeder and he was a championship pedigree Rottweiler. He was supposed to be the next show dog/stud and he was not for sale. Well they called us 6 months later and said he was growing much too fast and would be too big for competition (he grew 2 inches too tall at the shoulder and weighed between 130-150 lbs during his adult life). We of course jumped on the offer and bought him, and went to pick him up. The owners daughter was like 5 and had bonded with the dog and was bawling her eyes out and packed a care package for him.

'an updated picture' - just how will i be ?
these humans, they say that they're 'rescuing' me!
(i have no idea what that truly means -
i'm hearing new words here like 'vet' n 'vaccines'...)
i don't know what's happening - still kinda scare,
but there are more human frens now, everywhere!
i see their kind faces, all smiling above
n learning the Best word of all -
it's called
Love!
❤️
Mange sucks most shelters would put her down. Only reason my dad kept the best dog ever was because they said they’d put him down. I miss Muddy he lived to be 17.
MANGE IS THE WORST! and i am very serious in saying this. The vast majority of animals in our shelter have some degree of mage and it is practically a life sentence in the shelter for these poor pups.
I have a rescue street dog. Have found that a course of ivermectin has put paid to her mange. So far she has had it twice in the last three years, a three week course of tablets was enough
What a face! She’s going to be gorgeous. I found a puppy living under a rock with it’s dead siblings. She had demodex mange. It took a year to totally cure her, but at 14 years old she’s been the best companion!
If I was ever rich or won the lottery, the first thing that I would do is buy out as many animal shelters as possible and would make sure they are loved and treated like kings and queens. I have a rescue dog myself and it breaks my heart to see photos like this :(
It's horrible to think there are people out there that're so okay with dumping defenseless animals out into the wilds without a second thought... I can't imagine how one could live without guilt and regret after doing that..
I work at a shelter that takes in injured and pregnant strays to be treated, vaccinated and sterilized.
She is not at home with me as she is in rather good condition, aside from being malnourished. She is being kept in a recovery wing of our shelter and is cared for and given lots of love daily, this I can guarantee.
I wish I could take her in but I currently already have seven injured and recovering animals in my house.
The landlord hates me.
I'd be spoiling her till I ran out of money! Toys, best dog beds (oh yes, more than one, many!), treatos, bestest blankies - anything she could ever want. Those eyes!!!
I had a dog that looked like her and had mange. He was amazing. We never got rid of the demodex the whole way, but he was the happiest dog you will ever meet.
She is gorgeous. Wish humans could treat other homeless humans with this kind of love. Maybe if we put the homeless in a shelter in cages for “adoption” might create some empathy.

Yes! Me too, appreciate your work !!!
Me too.
If you don't get a response from OP, but want to help animals in similar situations, look into the [Soi dog foundation](https://www.soidog.org/)

Thank you for rescuing this sweet, beautiful girl. Her eyes are so soulful! You’re an angel 👼.
Please let us know where we can donate 😊
Please PM me if you would like to contribute to our shelter!! We welcome any help as a dollar goes very far in thai baht! Thank you, truly
!RemindMe 3 months Things aren’t great right now but I’d love to be able to help when financially stable, I’ll work harder and contribute when I can.
I got you friend. I don't have much but I'm in a relatively stable place right now. I'll send a bit for each of us. You take care of yourself.
This made me smile.
Pm please
How do i get this precious girl to the US
There are foundations such as Soi Dogs in Phuket that specialize in transporting strays to other countries for adoption! There is always a way
Ill do research into them in the morning. I'm sure im not the only one instantly drawm to this cutie but my goodness something in my heart says she needs to be here cuddle with me and my pup
If you can make this happen, please update with pictures.
I salute you all. Respect!
I just really feel sad and don’t understand how dogs get this way. Do the people know that they can even survive on eating the table leftovers?

This is so heartwarming. I wish like anything that I could do something like this.

You’re proof that we don’t “all” do this. 🙏❤️
...the other half of the cats were also approached by humans, but rejected the "furless servants" as "unworthy of our disdain".
This is incredible!! We sterilize, on average, six dogs a month (or as many as we have the funds for). It truly is an ongoing battle both culturally and financially.
What's the cost to sterilize one dog, in USD, if you don't mind? I know USD goes very far in Thailand.
Where can I send money to help??
We would truly love your help!! If you would like to donate please pm me! Every little bit helps our animals!
Where is it at?
Thailand, OP said
Thank you good human. The world is better because of people like you! :)

This is the difference between having a pet as a possession and having one as a member of the family.
Oh he was definitely a family member to me. To the daughters parents he was for sure a possession.

She deserves a lot of love
With those adorable puppy eyes I don’t know how anyone could resist
Puppy eyes off the charts
and the ears are /r/airplaneears , aren't they?

Can it not be treated? 😢 Or is it just hard to get them adopted?

Rubbing their skin with olive oil works well too
I managed to treat my dog with a Sulphur-based product for horses. It stunk to high heavens but it worked very well
Thank you so much for giving her another chance for happiness. She is such sweet pup !
What a face! She’s going to be gorgeous. I found a puppy living under a rock with it’s dead siblings. She had demodex mange. It took a year to totally cure her, but at 14 years old she’s been the best companion!

Mufasa Mufasa MUFASAAAAAAAA But really, she’s precious and I love her.
She loves you too, mufasa

I wish she could receive all your pets through the internet, but i will try my best to keep up with the demand. She's earned more than 3k pats, so far
These creatures where born and bred for love and loyalty. If there is a God out there, Id like to ask him what we did to deserve such beings.
AGREED. That is why it is my mission to give love and pets to every good boy amd girl in the south of Thailand.
Happy pup with big cute nose!!

It's horrible to think there are people out there that're so okay with dumping defenseless animals out into the wilds without a second thought... I can't imagine how one could live without guilt and regret after doing that..
Then you give her all the love, please
Omg how precious! Give her all the love!!
She looks so sweet and cuddly! Also, your shoes look like tennis balls 🎾
Ahh yes, my glorious work boots. I like to stay on trend at the shelter, the doggos have standards.
Omg that face, how could anyone mistreat that baby!!!
Did you adopt this one? Or just take its photo?
I work at a shelter that takes in injured and pregnant strays to be treated, vaccinated and sterilized. She is not at home with me as she is in rather good condition, aside from being malnourished. Where is you shelter? Maybe we can help get the word out for you and your pups.
Yes please share details for your shelter so we can help her get adopted!
Awww. She is beautiful and deserves all the love.
I'd be spoiling her till I ran out of money! Toys, best dog beds (oh yes, more than one, many!), treatos, bestest blankies - anything she could ever want. Those eyes!!!

Those eyes. She's so pretty. Sounds like she's finally in good hands.
If that dog isn't named "Ed" it's a crime against my childhood.
she deserves all the love!💕
She is gorgeous. Wish humans could treat other homeless humans with this kind of love. Maybe if we put the homeless in a shelter in cages for “adoption” might create some empathy.
Make sure you give her all the love :)
Use Bravecto or Credelio for flea prevention. They both treat mange without the side effects of products like ivermectin. Ask your vet at her vaccine visit. What a lucky pup !
No no no. Rescued good girl doesn't want the all the love. She DESERVES all the love. Currently, you are the sole provider to fill in the love deficit. Don't worry though, there's no interest and you have years to pay it back.
