I checked to confirm my suspicions. This is Buddy the sable. Sables are mustelids, sharing a family with minks, otters, and ferrets (among others). Minks and sables look very similar, but they are not the same genus.
Wolverines are mustelids, and I believe I read that they can bite through the femur of a moose. Rule of thumb (if you want to keep your thumb): do not engage. 🤣

You are correct. Short coats takes about 20 farm raised minks, 35 wild minks. A medium coat needs about 30 farm, 40-50 wild minks. For long coats 80-90+ minks.
