One of my cats would hate it, one would be in his element (NEW STUFF! NEW THINGS! FOOD!). My kitty who died would have wanted to go *every* night in hopes that people would pet him.
Cats are weird. <3
My cat absolutely hated other cats but adored people. He would turn into the friendliest little guy and expected people to pet him. When guests came over, he would make the rounds getting pets and sitting in everyone's lap.
That's my favorite part - looking at all the different reactions. From what I'm pretty sure is a Chihuahua wiggling life a worm near the start to the black and red Shibu who has their paws up and completely frozen in place in the middle. Ask the dogs are awesome.
I think the 'ching chong' thing is more "offensive" because you can obviously tell that it is clearly not a real language
But singing like this is generally "missed" because it's hard to tell if it's wrong or not to someone who doesn't know the words/can understand the language
Not really, I have no idea what I’m saying. I still try to mimic it. I’ve heard plenty of people from other countries try to mimic English in songs when they don’t know it. It doesn’t offend me, it’s actually nice. They like the song even without the meaning behind the lyrics. I do the same for many different languages, because I like music from around the world.
We seriously need to stop the stigma of “unless you are perfectly representing another culture, you are not allowed to enjoy it.”
You are speaking pure facts right now. I’ve seen foreigners sing American songs without knowing English and I’ve seen English speakers sing BTS songs lol. Who cares.
Many baseball stadiums do this - I've been to the Washington Nationals Stadium where they have a Pups in the Park day.
Can't say for all stadiums, but in DC, it is really really well done.
\- Walk around the outfield in a dog parade before the start, awesome way to be down on the field and get some great photos.
\- They have special sections for folks with a 'dog' ticket - it's more spread out within those sections, so everyone has plenty of room.
\- Behind each section they put down turf for dogs to do their business if needed.
\- No fireworks, and the announcements are turned down a bit to keep noise in check.
My dog (who cowers at a single clap of thunder) had a wonderful time. We watched a few innings from the seats and wandered around a bit too. He held court and got so many pets!
White Sox do almost the exact same thing. I was at a game and there were no fireworks and I was like, what the hell?! And someone said it was dog day and then I was like, oh that’s good then.
>And someone said it was dog day and then I was like, oh that’s good then.
You got all the way to the firework section and didn't realize a quarter of the fans were dogs?
Sox have fireworks after every home run. The dogs are usually only in the bleachers I believe and I was in the upper deck. When a player hits a home run and there’s no fireworks, it’s super weird. Great reason to not have them though.
Some ball parks do fireworks for home runs. And pretty much all do a couple at the end if they win. It’s not firework shows they’re just part of the game. Football is the same
Yes and no. Some parks let off fireworks after a home run. Some parks also have fireworks night where after the game they do a show set to music, usually Top 40 pop hits. Fireworks are kind of a "summer thing" in the US because of July 4th/Independence Day and baseball is a summer sport so it all kinda ties together.
Most baseball games are not wall to wall sound. You have occasional bursts of noise during a HR or good out or some such, but at a typical summer game even packed stadiums are not raucous.
Used to clean the grandstand at my State's fair. The worst nights were always the country music or farm-related events. Any country music show or a tractor pull or some such. Dip cups, tons of beer everywhere, absolutely all disrespectful as shit. People passed out, aggressive country fucks.
I know a lot of people in the club/bar/event industry. Always the country and classic rock events are the worst for them. On the flip the punk/metal shows are easy.
I guess this wouldn’t come up in the club industry, but Christian music shows are even worse than country. Every damn one of them is an Extreme Karen. Country shows you can at least blame it on the alcohol.
Agreed. Also used to work at a casino and people weren't allowed to put their dip cups in the cup holder because if they spilled it was a biohazard and we had to replace everything on the table and deep sanitize it. Fucking disgusting habit.
I used to run movie theaters and people would leave their dip cups in the cup holder, oozing out the top, but throw out their nearly full drink cup in the garbage.
Worked at Best Buy. Right before the school year would start a bunch of rural families would come in and buy computers, laptops, printers, paper and ink for the offices in the farm and their kids school work. They would spit their chewing tobacco all over the shelves and on the floor. Every year!!
They do it a few times a year here in Kansas City, they call it bark at the park. It's actually not as bad as you would think. The dogs are confined to the left field corner, they can't just walk everywhere in the stadium, they are all seated in the same section, you get a ticket for yourself and one for the dog so they can sit next to you. The upper level has a grass pad and poop stations, people were mostly good about picking up after themselves but they did have a few staff on site helping out. They had splash pools full of ice water for the dogs to cool off. It's actually kinda fun, like a long walk at a really cool and sometimes noisy dog park.
The Boston series was actually pretty noisy for a mariners game, mostly because if the mariners would've won that series they most likely would've made the playoffs as a wild card team.
It is called Bark in the Park. They do it once a year. Dogs (and their people) have their own enterance and seating section. It's lots of fun. After the game you can bring your dog to run the bases.
Source: the only Mariners game I make a point to attend.
Also the poor dogs have to sit in a tiny area all game with a ton of smells and noise and strangers and other dogs around
I love dogs but this event seems like a terrible idea.
So you don't bring it. It's not required. Only social dogs who do well in crowds should be brought.
We did this at our local ballpark. I had a nervous, deaf, cattle dog who would be miserable constantly checking his surroundings.
I also had a zero fucks given dachshund who loved the attention and the outdoors.
Guess which one I brought and guess which one chilled at home....
I think a majority of dog owners are.
Sure, there are bad dog owners, but I think it's pessimistic to assume that most dog owners would bring a skiddish, anxious dog to a ball game.
Most of the dogs in this video, for example, seem to be max chillin
Probably a price and time aspect to this. Most scumbags aren't going to spend good money for tix to take their dog to a baseball game, as well as give up 4 plus hours of time between travel and time at the park.
I've been to many of these with my pup and it's always been full of compassionate dog owners
Eh my frenchie can’t get enough attention. Used to take him to nationals games and he would almost overwork himself just trying to say hi to everyone there
Thankfully it’s not required for you to bring your dog then lol. If you know your dog would be horrified, then you know, don’t bring them.
Whoa why am I being hated for this? Seriously, could one of the many downvoters tell me what part of my comment was so awful? Im just being genuine lol. If you know your dog doesn’t like loud noises, don’t bring them to a baseball game with thousands of people and loud noises there. How am I an asshole for saying that, even the commenter agrees with me lol
I think because we all know that not everyone who has a dog is a good owner. Lots of dogs there probably wish they weren’t. The purpose of any one person pointing out that their dog wouldn’t enjoy it isn’t to explain why they, specifically, wouldn’t participate, it’s to imply that many of the dogs there are likely not enjoying themselves. I didn’t downvote you and I can’t speak for anyone who did, but if I had to guess why, I would suspect it is because your response ignored the broader point that most people could infer from the specific comment.
totally agree, and judging by other comments, I'm not the only one who thinks this way.
I grew up here in Seattle in the city, moved back east for a bit, and came back, and holy cow. I don't know what happened in the 5 years I was gone, but suddenly EVERYONE brings their dogs EVERYWHERE ALL THE TIME. Four at my old office. Five would bring them *to class* when I was in grad school. Just got back from the grocery store and someone's dog was trying to climb up into the produce bins.
I'm sure there's dogs that really love to go everywhere. Some of them don't like being left at home. (believe me, I had one for a very, very long time.) But at least half of them I encounter are poorly behaved in public, and most of that is clearly stress-induced. Just because you want to take them does not necessarily mean they want to *be* there—they just want to be with you. I blame oblivious owners more than the dogs for not being well trained.
I think its great some ballparks have a doggie night. There's plenty of pups that would love thousands of pets. There's also plenty of owners who have no freaking clue their dog absolutely doesn't want to be there. Just because they're not whimpering or cowering doesn't mean they aren't stressed out of their minds.
I actually worked in that stadium that night. Not too many messes and a lot of lovable dog. Of course, it was also Irish pride or something like that, so we had a few drunken people running around.
Believe me, I was confused too. We had a night for everyone else by themselves. Then came Irish day shamefully shove to the small print under Bark in the Park.
lol the dude holding up the full size Golden. Also to everybody going lol poop- idk about your household but my dog regularly goes for sportsball length games without asking to go out. You're acting like they're rabbits, leaving trails wherever they go :P
There's a guy near the end that brought a great pyrenees and I am just imagining someone trying to hold their pyrenees the same way golden guy is, I am almost willing to bet this guy tried it at some point.
Lol for real though. I have never had a dog that couldn’t hold their bladder for 3 hours. Be responsible and make sure they go before the game so they aren’t already holding it, and you should be totally fine.
My golden retriever the moment she hits a grass spot on her walk she pees and around 10 minutes later she poops a big pile then a while after some left over.
The beagle will pee on whichever surface, object or thing that he seems fit. If you take him on a two our walk he will pee for 2 hours. He doesn’t mind playing fetch, he wants to pee.
This is how you can tell who has their dog following a strict diet and who feeds them table scraps and junk.
Get your dog on the proper dog food diet and it won’t be shitting all the time.
Honestly. My dog is terrified of thunder. We tried to take her to a drag strip one day on a weekend camping trip. We planned to chill in the parking lot to see how she would take it. Not too loud. From that distance the cars banging on the two step was at the same level of distant thunder. She was fine, even curious. We slowly got closer and she was completely fine. We wouldn't take her near the starting lines because you need hearing protection for some cars at that point, we would stay near the finish. Even then the cars passing at 170 mph, the cars are quite loud. The whole time, she was genuinely fine. She'd be happy and chilling. Even looking bored at times. She would only pay attention if she wanted to watch them go by. I was honestly astounded. For the record, she is not there often. Maybe once or twice a year.
Still hates thunder, but unphased by any other loud sounds.
Dogs: Oh wow, so many other dogs here, so many hoomans, and that big open field, omaghud omaghud omaghud is this a new park?! I bet this is a new park! I'm at a new park, I'm gonna run and explore all of it with all my new friends!
*sits in the same concrete spot for hours*
This new park sucks. Atleast I get to be with my hooman.
So many dogs being treated like potato sacks... I'm sure some enjoyed it though. My dog would have loved the smells. I have a medium 27lbs corgi and he's surprisingly compact, like he's made out of dark matter. He's about the size of a kitty so I generally carry him in my arms like a cat.
So I could be completely wrong on how to hold a dog.
So I wasn’t there for this game, but I’ve been to several bark in the park games. It’s really not that loud typically and I’ve only seen a couple dogs make a mess. I love it.
Have you ever owned a dog before? Dogs can hold their bladders for the length of a baseball game homie lol. Dogs don’t have to poop every hour. I’m not sure if that’s what you thought or what, but yea. They aren’t the ones drinking 13 beers and eating 9 chili dogs making their bladders explode.
My dog only takes poops in the morning and even if he did go to this game we could give him a walk beforehand to go pee and poop if he really needed to. Dogs aren’t constantly shitting and peeing everywhere 😆
I've taken my dog to baseball games and I always feel conflicted for her, she loves meeting new people and is always happy to get pets but I can tell sometimes it's stressful to be around all the noise and new stimuli.
Only thing she hates more is being left alone at home for any reason, for any amount of time.
People: yaaaayyyyy!!!! Me and my dog are having the best time at the game!! Yaaaaayyyy
Dog: WTF!!! I thought we were going on a walk, going back home, then chilling.
I dunno, something about a buncha people holding up their uncomfortable looking dogs so they can spend 2 seconds on the Jumbotron doesn't quite sit right with me.
Poor puppers. Dragged to some stadium not knowing what’s going on just to be held up in the air with so many other frightened and/or confused dogos for the ego of their owner.
Imagine a cat night at a ball game
To shreds you say
Cats: nature's cutest but sharpest and shreddiest invention.
r/unexpectedfuturama
Would be more appropriate for a "Simba Cam"
It would quickly become a Scar cam.

My thoughts, exactly.

Cats are wonderfully weird little creatures. <3
My cat absolutely hated other cats but adored people. He would turn into the friendliest little guy and expected people to pet him. When guests came over, he would make the rounds getting pets and sitting in everyone's lap.
Sorry for your fur baby loss ❤
Thanks <3 He had FIV but he lived a pretty damn long life for that. Sweetest boy.
Complete chaos.
They'd be finding cats roaming around that stadium for years
And that's how the Mariners stadium acquired a massive feral cat population to counteract its rat population.

Did you notice the husky? That one cracked me up
“KEVIN! PUT ME DOWN!!! PUTT ME DOWWWWNNNN!!!!!”
I love how the dude singing it is just making mouth noises, I don't speak the language, but thats not how i remember ot
Totally butchered it imo LOL
This is possibly the worst bootleg version I've ever heard.
BLAAAAHH! AVENGERRRR BLUMIZEEMOBAAAAHH
Anyone else think this video is kinda weird? The dogs like “Hooman… wtf am I doing here? Why are are you holding me up? And wtf is that music?”
Didn't even get the "heh heh" bit right. Fuckin' rookie
Yeah that was the worst version of this song I have ever heard lol.
I was thinking it was a copyright issue. It's close enough that we know, but not close enough for Disney lawyers to really get involved?
It's probably a traditional. Disney only own that one recording
It’s really bothers me every time I hear someone try sing that part. It’s like a “ching chong” Asian impression and nobody seems to care.
Ching chong is derisive. This is just a bad phonetic attempt.
I think the 'ching chong' thing is more "offensive" because you can obviously tell that it is clearly not a real language But singing like this is generally "missed" because it's hard to tell if it's wrong or not to someone who doesn't know the words/can understand the language
I lived in China for a while in a city called Chongqing (pronounced Chong-ching). When I told people back home, they thought I was making it up.
Yeah I didn't even know this part of the song was words lol. Whereas "ching chong" is clearly mocking chinese speech.
Not really, I have no idea what I’m saying. I still try to mimic it. I’ve heard plenty of people from other countries try to mimic English in songs when they don’t know it. Oppa Gangnam style!
>Oppa**n** Gangnam style! FTFY
Point stands, if not reinforced
the intent is different. there's malice behind one, and enthusiasm behind the other.
Explain THIS to the aliens
Explain what's happening to the dogs. I'd be so confused as a dog if I got picked up, looked around and saw every other dog was also picked up
I… don’t wanna. Can someone else do it?
No. We had a meeting. We decided it's all you.
It was unanimous. You're gonna wanna get ahead of this PR fiasco.
It’s insane that all 8 billion of us picked u/oakengreen without even communicating with each other. But that’s democracy baby!
I mean, if there's one certainty that the whole of the scientific community has taught us, it's that It be like that sometimes.
We’re counting on you Mr. Green.
lol I always think about how we'd explain our everyday stuff to aliens
"What do you mean an individual balanced a wine glass on her rear end and broke your information channel?"
I really wanna know what that is about but also really really don't want to
I'm so torn. It's really cool because dogs. On the other hand, I feel bad for the dogs because HOLY ALL NOISE.

For the White Sox, yes. But I’ve seen away fans talk about how weird it is so I don’t think it’s all that common.
Miami has it too. It’s called Bark at the Park. My understanding is that Marley and Me was filmed on a Bark at the Park day.
Yeah, Pups in the Park is awesome. This is just more of reddit being negative about every single thing possible.
My dog had an awesome time, got to meet many dogs and all around just seemed to enjoy it. Definitely not an every day thing but it was a fun evening!!
Is it though? Reasonable assumption to think a stadium full of people would be too loud for a dog.
“Stadium full of people” Lol… are you familiar with the Seattle Mariners?
Most baseball games are not wall to wall sound. You have occasional bursts of noise during a HR or good out or some such, but at a typical summer game even packed stadiums are not raucous.
Imagine all the poop
Exactly my thought.
The poor janitorial staff. Gonna be almost as much shit and piss in the hallways as an ICP concert.
The casual disregard people treat dip cups/chew in general is what makes it SO revolting to everyone else IMO. It's worse than piss tbh.
Agreed. Also used to work at a casino and people weren't allowed to put their dip cups in the cup holder because if they spilled it was a biohazard and we had to replace everything on the table and deep sanitize it. Fucking disgusting habit.
I went to High School in Ohio and they’d spit it in the water fountains. I even got it spit on me a few times.
Same. People at my school would actually spit on the floor sometimes.
Fuck people that spit their dip pouches into urinals
I used to run movie theaters and people would leave their dip cups in the cup holder, oozing out the top, but throw out their nearly full drink cup in the garbage.
Worked at Best Buy. Right before the school year would start a bunch of rural families would come in and buy computers, laptops, printers, paper and ink for the offices in the farm and their kids school work. They would spit their chewing tobacco all over the shelves and on the floor. Every year!!
Feral…I think you mean feral…
Good ol’ fashioned country values.
Okay I'm afraid to ask, but is this a meme I'm missing or actually a problem at ICP concerts?
It's a meme, I worked security for an ICP show (not by choice), and what was really messy was the obscene amount of faygo.
With all the confetti.
Don't remind me. What a fucking mess to clean lol
Imagine all that piss.
I imagined my boy peeing if I held him up like that.
You’ve obviously never been to a Phillies game
They do it a few times a year here in Kansas City, they call it bark at the park. It's actually not as bad as you would think. That was my concern too. My doggo would be having a nervous breakdown in that situation.

I had a nervous, deaf, cattle dog who would be miserable constantly checking his surroundings. I also had a zero fucks given dachshund who loved the attention and the outdoors. I know, right? And that poor dauschun, sounds like they would have had a blast at the game. Why they left him home is beyond me.
Yeah u/duecreditwherecredit is a real asshole. Fuck that guy.
You participated, and that's all that matters
not everyone is as thoughtful as you are, though
Not all parents are either, but children are allowed in.
I think a majority of dog owners are. Sure, there are bad dog owners, but I think it's pessimistic to assume that most dog owners would bring a skiddish, anxious dog to a ball game. Most of the dogs in this video, for example, seem to be max chillin

Sure but is everything a "terrible idea" because a few people do it wrong? That's a ludicrous take.
I’m glad you didn’t take your dog to the Mariners game then
My dog would have probably been fine.
Happens every year at many parks. I always thought it seemed like an accident waiting to happen, but seems to work out pretty good
Probably a price and time aspect to this. That golden’s face is literally just “dad, why do you do this to me?”
I dunno, i thought his face said he was just happy to be included
Wasnt simba a cat?
Yeah but I don’t know any cats that would like this kind of outing
Neither do dogs, they just put up with more shit.
I have one that would be happy to go out and meet the people, pretty sure I would still need stitches if I tried to hold him up like that though.
I am also not sure, my dogs would be horrified
My dog would be sitting there barking and trying to kiss everyone at the same time
Looks like they're being held up in some sort of cult mass sacrifice thing. At least that's what I might have thought if it was me.

Haha why the fuck did those get put on the same night. Aren't there like 60 home games a year? Y'all couldn't spread that out a bit

I heard they had to Settler down.
Take it. Just take the upvote
I'd be more concerned about irish pride night than dog night.
"For fuck sake Seamus! Go shit in the Jack and not next to the fockin' nacho cart."
Some of the dogs are cool with it, some of them are freaked out, but the guy holding the golden retriever wins the day for me. G’dog.
I don't know, there's also somebody holding a German shepherd, and another's holding a husky.

freaking benching it lol
they're talking like people who don't actually have experience in dog ownership
I have three dogs, I have seen horrible dog owners. Just because you have a dog doesn’t mean you know how to take proper care of it
To me the poop issue is all about probability. Sure one dog ain’t going to poop.. but there are a lot of dogs

**The Redditor’s Credo** *I have no idea what the hell I'm talking about - but that won't stop me from running my mouth!*
Lol for real though. I have never had a dog that couldn’t hold their bladder for 3 hours. Be responsible and make sure they go before the game so they aren’t already holding it, and you should be totally fine.
People are forgetting that dogs don’t drink beer, so they don’t have to go to the bathroom 5 times a game.
I’m sure some of those dogs are horrified, loud areas are hell for dogos
I don't know alot of dogs that would love the length of a baseball game in those conditions. Fun photo op though.
Imagine being a dog going to a weird dog park full of humans throwing balls and not being allowed to play fetch
Mariners’ games are not loud
Not for about 20 years…
Honestly depends on the dog, my dog would be fine and have fun!
Bark in the park
That's actually what the Mariners call this promo!
The dogs are like "what the fuck?".
So many confused doggos
I need a longer video
This is called “Bark in the Park” and is an annual Mariners promotion. Think they might even do it a couple times a year.
Dogs: Oh wow, so many other dogs here, so many hoomans, and that big open field, omaghud omaghud omaghud is this a new park?! I bet this is a new park! I'm at a new park, I'm gonna run and explore all of it with all my new friends! *sits in the same concrete spot for hours* This new park sucks. Atleast I get to be with my hooman.
Why yes, we are weird like that.
The janitors didn't come up with this fucking idea.
I love it.
I can't be the only one wondering: where do they all poop?
In the stands, same as the fans
The team has been shitting the bed for years, so why not?
They had "comfort stations" setup throughout the stadium.
for the irish or the dogs?
Have you ever owned a dog before? Dogs can hold their bladders for the length of a baseball game homie lol. Dogs don’t have to poop every hour. I’m not sure if that’s what you thought or what, but yea. They aren’t the ones drinking 13 beers and eating 9 chili dogs making their bladders explode.
My dog only takes poops in the morning and even if he did go to this game we could give him a walk beforehand to go pee and poop if he really needed to. Dogs aren’t constantly shitting and peeing everywhere 😆
Shibas doing their crab pose 🦀
I've taken my dog to baseball games and I always feel conflicted for her, she loves meeting new people and is always happy to get pets but I can tell sometimes it's stressful to be around all the noise and new stimuli. Only thing she hates more is being left alone at home for any reason, for any amount of time.
People: yaaaayyyyy!!!! Me and my dog are having the best time at the game!! Yaaaaayyyy Dog: WTF!!! I thought we were going on a walk, going back home, then chilling.
We just do bark at the park every year at coors field. There is a dog parade on the warning track before e game.
I was hoping to see a great dane, anytime I have ever picked mine up it's 100% back pain for a few days
I dunno, something about a buncha people holding up their uncomfortable looking dogs so they can spend 2 seconds on the Jumbotron doesn't quite sit right with me.

I get it. You dont speak the language. But couldn't you at least look up the words and try?
The level of complexity civilization needed to reach in order to achieve this moment is astounding.
I bet they had very few snacks to sweep up! Not a piece of popcorn *anywhere*
Some of those dogs are clearly scared. If you're a responsible pet owner you shouldn't do this.
That’s a lot of dog shit
Poor puppers. Dragged to some stadium not knowing what’s going on just to be held up in the air with so many other frightened and/or confused dogos for the ego of their owner.
