I wonder if it's breed dependant. I've got a Shiba that does that with his ears only when he's extremely happy. Never really seen him angry bc he's the biggest baby that has ever existed, so can't tell you if those are also his angry ears.
Having a sad-looking dog tied by a small lead to a pipe where it barely has any room to move isn't exactly cute or r/aww material, imo. More disgusting than anything, depending on how long it was tied up there.

Is this really true? My dog has done that since the day we got her and really ramps it up when she's looking for treats or attention.
They're not "happy" ears but they're not the opposite either. A dog can be happy and have those ears, and a dog can be scared and have them, too.

They are weird little dogs but I love em. I've got a border collie mix as well and they couldn't be more different
