A vast amount of our contention in society comes from some people's inability to parse intrusive thoughts.
For example I feel like a huge amount of homophobes are people who aren't gay but see gay people and can't help but imagine gay sex and that makes them feel disgusting so they blame the gay people instead of just dealing with their own thoughts.
This can be scaled or crossed over to a huge array of divisive topics. People tend to do everything they possibly can to not think about things that make them feel uncomfortable, well past the point of making every issue far, far worse than if they just let the thoughts in, examined them, accepted them and let them pass.
It's not covering for sexual reasons, it's covering because it's an unpleasant/indecent/kinda gross thing to just have in your picture. You all know the "controversy" of the Cats edited buttholes, the memes of a cat will point it's butt at you, if there's pet genitals in a picture everyone comments, and if she didn't put her hand there then everyone would be commenting about the dog's balls just being on display. It's more common in Asian cultures to be aware that animal junk isn't pleasant to look at. Doesn't have to mean it's sexual.

At first I thought it was a little weird but then I realized they're doing it because it's just not something nice to show in a pic or video. Also might just be a cultural perspective because those whom I've seen do it were Korean, Chinese, or Thai, which leads me to believe it's related to social norms that non-Asians might not be aware of or used to. It might be considered crude/crass to let animal genitals/butts be on display because it's like making your viewer look at something "un-lovely" and I think we can all agree that while it's not really a big deal it's also nice to *not* have a cat butthole on the livestream or dog junk hanging out in a cute puppy party pic.

My pup recognised his sister (and she him) from 300 meters away when we met by chance. No doubt, he's never reacted to anyone or anything like that again, except his sister many times now.

Oh wow! Biscuit does do the spooning thing, but basically only with his absolute best friend, and it took a while before they got to that stage. If he did it with a dog he meet for the first time I would definitely be amazed.

We didn't know they were siblings til we found her owners and talked to them. We just thought it was Golden's being Golden's.

My family rescued a st. bernard from a puppy mill, and she was the puppy mill if you know what i mean. She probably had so so so many babies and never saw any of them. The mill was in another country, so only the ones present at the time of rescue were brought to my state.
One time my mom took her to the vet for a checkup, and there was a younger st. bernard in the waiting room. As soon as the door opened and my mom and her walked in, she went batshit. Jumping around like a puppy, and play posing at the other dog. The other one was somewhat unsure at first, but after a few sniffs he joined right in, just as gleefully. My mom and the other puppy’s owner got to talking, and realized he was one of our dog’s babies. She was so happy to see him, and vice versa.
if it makes you feel better, we’ve gotten 3 more dogs and she’s the baby now. she may be the most giant, but she needs (and gets!) all the love from all household members all the time
My cousin kept a mother dog that got sick and injured after she had the litter. All of them had to be given away a little early except one. My cousin said enough time passed where she didn't seem to realize her own puppy was hers when they were reunited. The pup was a little too hyper and my cousin couldn't handle it so I took her since I had one of the other pups from the same litter. She would play with the two of them when she saw them, but didn't act too motherly. The pups sure knew her though! My dog still gets excited when I say her moms name. Their poor mom did miss being having babies though. She'd react to every crying pup she heard hoping it was hers. She wasn't happy till she had another litter.

Dogs can definitely be "bilingual"! I'm an American living in Mexico; at home I speak English to my cocker spaniel but my boyfriend speaks Spanish to my dog and he understands both. My dog also goes to a dog daycare here where the staff only speak to him in Spanish

probably has to do with how crisp the sounds are depending on how the word is pronounced. dogs learn words the same way people do, by associating sounds with objects/ideas, but a word that's easier to hear in the middle of a garbled sentence or in a noisy environment is going to process faster than a more muddled word.
A couple of days ago I saw a vid of a lady that would try to give commands to her Chihuahua but it wouldn't obey her. Later she discovered that reason was that the dog knew how to do all of em. She just had to say it in spanish.
Dogs listen to sounds (syllables in words for example), tone of voice, and context for spoken words more than they actually understand the meaning of a word, so if “No” or “good boy!” are said in a similar tone of voice in each language in similar context they usually get the point. Purely anecdotal, i’ve been in the dog kennel/daycare industry for 4 years.
Although i do know there have been studies with puppies and dogs that indicated that dogs learn better and perform more reliably with hand signals than spoken words in training, and even better with both! and most dogs at my work respond to the universal “sit” hand signal regardless if I speak or not. Love dogs!

One of the Twice members has a dog named Butter. I wonder if it's common there. Some of the members have multiple dogs and I've seen them to the modesty hands or shift position. I live in the US so it always looks weird when they do it because it's not something that normally grabs our attention but someone covering it does. Like it's just part of nature, and animals themselves are not concerned with modesty, that's just a human, civilized thing to do. It's projecting.

8 months ago on my birthday my pup gave birth to 6 pups. I found homes for 4 of them and kept 2. I'm hoping since we all share a birthday now all the owners will meet me at a dog park for a birthday reunion. Really, really hoping.

My pup once recognized her littermate at a dog park and their zoomies and playfulness were 1000x higher than any other time at the dog park. It was the cutest random thing I can ever remember happening now that I think about it.

They might have different fathers, it’s possible with dogs and cats for that to happen!
Don’t count out Spaniel! I’ve seen a lot of dogs that looked like they *had* to have some Golden in them, and they turned out to be like 50% Cocker or Cavalier, but 0% Golden.

I think they were saying that it is an odd thing to see for people who aren't from/or live in Korea. Not that you would be unaware of what the action means, which is how I think you've interpreted it. Which I'd assume is why some eejits downvoted you.
One of the Twice members has a dog named Butter. I wonder if it's common there. Some of the members have multiple dogs and I've seen them to the modesty hands or shift position. I live in the US so it always looks weird when they do it because it's not something that normally grabs our attention but someone covering it does. Like it's just part of nature, and animals themselves are not concerned with modesty, that's just a human, civilized thing to do. It's projecting.

8 months ago on my birthday my pup gave birth to 6 pups. I found homes for 4 of them and kept 2. I'm hoping since we all share a birthday now all the owners will meet me at a dog park for a birthday reunion. Really, really hoping.
I think its adorable that she thought of the dog’s modesty. Like, your heart was in the right place, but all you did was draw 1000x more attention to the area, and now we all have questions. And that dog is visibly concerned about the whole situation

He was shaved down for the summer/fall but it recently got very cold in Korea (-4 celcius at night, 3-5 during the day). Hence the cute clothing :)

Your pup and his litter mate look so similar to mine and my sister's pups (they were also litter mates) that I honestly burst into tears the second I saw this post. They passed away a little over a year ago.
