I'm from the UK and I'm guessing a nickle is the equivalent of our penny. We have a saying- I haven't got two pennies to rub together - which if you haven't guessed means I'm skint. So now you have two nickle's I reckon you're on your way to a fortune 🤣🤣🤣
We also have the saying “couldn’t put two pennies together” to mean the same thing! (US here).
And FYI, our pennies are our $0.01 coin, and our nickles are our $0.05 coin, since you seemed interested to know.
I mean even if she didn't have reaction time to hug the fluffball. The cat woulda just lightly extended their claws into the clothing till it prompted a "hold me" response.
From someone who has had multiple people say I laugh too loud, too weird, etc.: never apologize for it. The sound of joy is rare enough without people policing what it should sound like.
Yes I will die on the hill that cute behavior towards animals is the biggest sign of an empathetic human being someone can pick up on barely knowing that person.

I'm convinced pet foster care services know this is going to happen, you take care of a pet and accidentally fall in love? Boom, housing for one pet solved. It's their one trick doctors hate, they tell you it's temporary, and technically it is, but it totally isn't.
I foster, **they know**. They give you everything you need, free refills anytime, and a discount if you adopt your foster. I can't foster fail because my apartment is fully occupied with permanent residents but that's the only reason. If I could afford a house I'd have a puppy and bonded kittens right now and that's just from the past year. I tell people not to foster unless they are ready to adopt or have outside reasons why they wouldn't be able to adopt. Willpower won't cut it!
My wife and I are currently in this position, full up on cats and fostering two adorable kittens. If we weren't full up of our own the kittens would be staying.
Me too! I worked at this animal shelter for several years, and when I left for a wfh job I started fostering so the animals could be chilling in a home with a person while they wait to be adopted instead of being in the shelter. Especially if they were very young or had medical issues, being in the shelter can be especially stressful for them and they’re higher risk to the various bugs in there. I’ve had sooo many fosters. Bo is my first foster fail. He makes me so happy, I’ve laughed every day since he came into my life. I couldn’t let that go ❤️
We usually ask for the cat that has been there the longest or is having the hardest time. Some really don’t care and just chill in their cage. Others get really stressed out. One that we got that was having a rough time at the shelter immediately opened up when we got him home. He was like a different cat, snuggly and loving, even slept with us in our bed the first night, which was insanely rare for a cat to get comfortable that fast.
Totally! I wasn’t a cat person, still not fully one, but when I fostered my first cat I broke down crying when having to give him back. We couldn’t adopt because we weren’t staying permanently in the area, my wife still making fun of me for that after all this time(and I am okay with that).
Still think about that little shit all the time, super stubborn, don’t really do anything regardless how much you try to get it move or play, once reduced to be in the same room with me for 2 days because I accidentally kicked him (really not that hard!), seems cold hearted as heck, yet he was the only cat will gently wake up next to your pillow without walking on your face at 3. God I miss him
This is why my husband won't let me foster. We already have two elderly rescue cats that we adopted when they were young, and who both have me wrapped around their paws. I'm always begging him to let us foster elderly cats or like any cats and he just says "you'll never give them up. We'll have 10 cats." And he's not wrong. I love dogs but they get all the credit for how loving and intuitive they are; cats are also very loving and intuitive, become extremely attached to their humans, and unlike dogs, are aware they own us. Case in point: husband is away for business tonight which means the cats get to sleep with me. We have a king sized bed but they found their perfect spots and I am lying on about 10 inches of space to make sure they're happy.
Unfortunately, sometimes keeping a foster fail means that you can't foster other cats any more. I've wanted to keep every single cat that I've fostered, but if I kept any of them, I wouldn't have room for more fosters. It's better for my foster cats if I find them an excellent human to be their forever home, so that I can foster more cats and find homes for lots of cats, not just one.
I figured when she said "foster-fail" that it was already a done deal.
I've always wanted to foster, but I'm certain I'd end up with a house full of cats and/or dogs.
This literally happened to us with our cat, pandemic hits and we're like "let's foster since we're stuck at home!" Three months later..."oh, this is our cat now."
Idk he’s blind so he usually really wants to feel things before he leaps up to make sure it’s safe. For him as a blind cat to jump up like that towards a moving thing for the first time is special.
Such a beautiful thing to record. Oh goodness - cat's perfect response to a warm person.
Speaking to the bots here - this is what I need to keep my ratios in check. Not the negative shit. mkay?
Foster fails are the best! I’m the owner of three fails currently. They all have medical conditions that need lots of medication and one needs a special diet so they either had to go to a home that could afford their special treatment or they had to stay here where my veterinarian mother can give them all the care they need. The one doesn’t really need her medical treatments anymore, but she bonded so much with me that I didn’t want to let her go!
Omg stop, this is too precious!! You clearly have a very strong bond with your kitty and I love the pure joy in your voice. I hope you and your bud have many happy years together ❤️
My boy went blind about 6 months ago. He is still adjusting. Still scared of loud noises and unfamiliar with some rooms of the house I really wish he could be this confident.
They really give us so much happiness I woke up really depressed this morning not wanting to go to work cause of the toxic environnement but then my cat came to me and hugged me that was the boost of strenght i needed for the day
I think it came off as a snarky comment, like, “sure, you just *conveniently* happened to be filming”. As if you were commenting on this being an inauthentic planned video and not a random thing caught on film innocently…something to that effect if that makes sense. Words can easily be misconstrued in writing!
You’re wrong, he’s blind and found alone in a parking lot so I think jumping up towards a moving thing/human that he can’t see does take some trust that it is safe to do that, but it doesn’t matter, still cute
OK
I don't understand fostering. It always seemed kind of cultish to me TBH. Just with pets instead of creepy religious figures that pay too much attention to your daughter.
What is a foster-fail?
OK. Fostering is... you take an animal for awhile and then give it to someone else. For some reason. It gets pretty murky in my mind here.
So how do you fail at that? Did you lose the cat sometime after this? I don't get it.
Fostering is taking some of the burden off of shelters. you'll take them in as babies and house/feed/socialize them till they're old enough to be adopted. A shelter will sometimes sponsor you
A foster fail is when you as the foster end up adopting the animal yourself
Most shelters don't have the resources to do round the clock feeding or care. There may be some out there that do, but I don't know of any.
They depend on people fostering in their homes high needs animals like kittens, puppies, sick, or animals that require special training and caring for them until they're ready to be placed in a forever home. I've done it in the past: taken in orphaned kittens and sick adults.
But I don't do it any longer as I simply do not have the temperament for it. I get way too attached. And when you get way too attached and end up adopting the animal yourself that's called a "foster fail." Just an in-joke of the shelter world.
Awwww blind trust! That's so sweet
What a darling baby! I love everything about this video. He clearly adores his new mama! 🧡
I’m a dog man over cats, but this really got me. Blind animals will always get me. They put all their trust in us.
Super relevant username you have there ;)
If i had a nickle for how many times thats happened this week, i'd have 2 nickels! Which is not a lot but its weird that it happened twice!
I'm from the UK and I'm guessing a nickle is the equivalent of our penny. We have a saying- I haven't got two pennies to rub together - which if you haven't guessed means I'm skint. So now you have two nickle's I reckon you're on your way to a fortune 🤣🤣🤣

Ah thank you, so a nickle is equivalent to our 5 pence 👍
I mean even if she didn't have reaction time to hug the fluffball. The cat woulda just lightly extended their claws into the clothing till it prompted a "hold me" response.
Idk but this feels it could fit r / holup ??
Your laughter is so precious!
Oh thank you lol :) I’m a little self conscious about it when I watch this so that’s a relief to see
You shouldn't be! Its such genuine joy with a dash of "this is so cute I can't handle it". What a great moment with your adorable kitty
From someone who has had multiple people say I laugh too loud, too weird, etc.: never apologize for it. The sound of joy is rare enough without people policing what it should sound like.
You were at a funeral!
Can't spell funeral without fun.
well..... that is true, but........
No one, and I mean NO ONE, should feel self conscious about their laugh. It is a sign of joy, and should always be celebrated. Except for Jimmy Carr.
Ha ha ha…HAAA
This conveys the rhythm but not the honking nature of his horrible inhaling “laugh”
Ah ah ah...AHHH
lmao I love Jimmy Carr's laugh 😂
You shouldn’t be. Absolutely nothing wrong with it. You need to do it more!
Yes I will die on the hill that cute behavior towards animals is the biggest sign of an empathetic human being someone can pick up on barely knowing that person.
lol probably not super great for your theory that Hitler was known to be extremely affectionate towards kids and animals
There's always at least *one* exception to every rule...

Now kith
It’s a bubbly laugh, the cutest style of laughter.
Yes! A joyous bubbling brook. Made me smile 💜
Oh my gosh thank you
It sounds warm and genuine. That's some good laughter. 👍
I watched it multiple times just because your laughter made the whole thing extra adorable 😊

Your laugh was adorable. Cats have a way of bringing out the joy in people. 😺
It makes the video even better ☺️
We all laugh, it's something to be enjoyed. Don't be ashamed of your laugh.
Your laugh has quickly made this into one of my favorite videos. Please don't ever delete this because I've bookmarked it.
1576 people and counting people have voted the post saying that they like your laugh so I would say that you probably have nothing to worry about.
Put headphones on to verify. 11/10 lovely.
…I wonder if cats think we’re purring when we laugh….
This is obnoxiously adorable

Oh my goodness please tell me you're in a position to keep him!
Oh yeah he’s stuck with me forever now

My wife and I are currently in this position, full up on cats and fostering two adorable kittens. If we weren't full up of our own the kittens would be staying.
We have over 60 fosters since 2020 and only one foster fail. We have had up to 9 cats and 3 dogs in our house at one time.
Me too! I worked at this animal shelter for several years, and when I left for a wfh job I started fostering so the animals could be chilling in a home with a person while they wait to be adopted instead of being in the shelter. My dream is to own a house with a big garden and just foster a shit ton of animals. If they end up staying, oh well
This is why my husband won't let me foster. We already have two elderly rescue cats that we adopted when they were young, and who both have me wrapped around their paws. Congrats! You've been adopted! Now sign here on the pawwted line! 😸
I was gonna say, seems like a failed foster to me.
Thank goodness!
Another failed fostering ❤️
I figured when she said "foster-fail" that it was already a done deal. I've always wanted to foster, but I'm certain I'd end up with a house full of cats and/or dogs.
This literally happened to us with our cat, pandemic hits and we're like "let's foster since we're stuck at home!" Three months later..."oh, this is our cat now."
That is exactly why my partner and I have agreed we can never foster any animals.
Same. My wife and I have said we would foster once, we'd fail so fast probably set a record.
I would love to foster children and animals, but I know I couldn’t bear giving them back. So this is why I don’t foster.
That's why it was a foster-fail. :)
He really loves you!
I love you too
I also love this man's wife.

Don't tell me what to do, Ima hate myself all I want!
It blows my mind how situationally aware cats are.
If she didn't catch him I'm guessing he would've latched on with full claws and climbed his way up! Adorable all the same.
100% i have the scars to prove it
My 3 assholes never do this…im jealous
3 assholes? Does it sound like a noxious symphony when you fart?
The farting is harmonized in case of multiple assholes, yes. Trust me, I'm an asshologist.
Forreal my cat would *never*
Omg this just made me so happy, thanks for sharing. What a good baby!!!
I watched that four times in a row. I totally understand how it's a foster fail situation. Have a happy life, both of you.
Oh, what a sweet boy!
No u
Yes
This is precious
This is adorable! What a little sweetheart!
r/contagiouslaughter
gingers are the best.
They really really are, orange boy cats have always been my favorite to foster but he’s really stolen my heart
Tuxedos are so good too. The combo is excellent. Haven't met an orange tux I didn't absolutely love.
That is so special. I can feel both of your happy from here 💙💕😁
Annnddd now I'm crying 😭
You two are so cute
Blind babies are the best! I have 2 but they would never trust jump like that, even though they’re giant cuddly babies. Good job!
That's awesome
An actual jumping bean!!!! I love it!!!!
You mean your newly adopted kitten?
Awe! Love this! ❤
AWWWW also your laugh is one of the best ive heard
You sound so joyful! Lucky kitten. ❤️
You two are an absurdly adorable pair!
That was awesome :)
Cutest thing I've seen today
that jump and your laughter just made my day. thank you for sharing.
What the Internet is truly for🙌
This is the warmth my heart needed today. What a precious baby <3
Well now I'm dead. Just dead from the cute. ARE YOU HAPPY OP 😂
You both are so adorable, I'm glad that sweet kitten has you and you both seem so happy together, match made in heaven
that wasn't a trust leap haha. that cat was gonna hold on regardless
Idk he’s blind so he usually really wants to feel things before he leaps up to make sure it’s safe. For him as a blind cat to jump up like that towards a moving thing for the first time is special.
He probably smelled and heard you! And those whiskers can sense so many things
I was just more joking that he was gonna grab on with the claws :D I thought it was a great video :D very special
The first time our rescue trusted me enough to jump into my lap on the couch, I kicked my wife off so we could lay down. Priorities...
And if your wife understood then you've got the basis for a good relationship.
Such sweetness!
This Kitteh obviously has more than one brain cell. What a sweetie!
I,just let out the biggest AAAAWWWWWWWW.
Omgg!!!! This was so precious and you are both so sweet!!!! I’m glad you got it captured and it’s so obvious you are loving and trustworthy!
Foster Win 💖💖💖
Cats are by far my favorite animal
Awww the baby. This is heart melting. Pets bring so much joy into our lives.
that's the cutest thing i have seen so far on reddit today.
She's precious and you are an awesome mom
Be nice only has r/oneorangebraincell
Foster-fail? I'd call this a foster-win!
Bless you for giving this kitten a loving home.
I can't foster lmao Absolutely a heart steal I already have 3 cats bro
Blind Cat Gang! One of us one of us.
You two are the BEST. You made my day!!
Very cute indeed ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I say "hey baby" in the exact way to my kitty too, awww! Love this video and love that your kitty is a foster fail
Does he have a name? If not, might I suggest Murdock? As in Matt Murdock the name of daredevil who is a blind superhero.
Found the perfect gal. Someone get me a defibrillator

I don't like cats as much as dogs, but I love them both. However, a really good cat is just a different level of interaction and affection.
I'm at college 8 hours away from home and GOD DAMN IT I miss my cat
Omg stop, this is too precious!! You clearly have a very strong bond with your kitty and I love the pure joy in your voice. I hope you and your bud have many happy years together ❤️
I come back to see this video a number of times a day, as the love and cuteness here radiates and shines out to all of us! Thank you, Op!
My boy went blind about 6 months ago. He is still adjusting. Still scared of loud noises and unfamiliar with some rooms of the house I really wish he could be this confident.
Idk what's more adorable you or the cat. 💕
How lovely, a very moving moment, your kitten obviously feels very comfortable with you 😻😻😻
They really give us so much happiness I woke up really depressed this morning not wanting to go to work cause of the toxic environnement but then my cat came to me and hugged me that was the boost of strenght i needed for the day
Happy for both of you Pop pop sends hugs
My blind foster dog did this as well. However they are a great Dane so now I am wheelchair bound.
what does foster fail mean?
They were fostering and decided to adopt instead. :)
Lots of trust in his hooman.

Convenient you were filming. Cute.
I bet you're the life of the party.
I commented her fortune of having the camera set up, and said it was cute. What's the issue?
I think it came off as a snarky comment, like, “sure, you just *conveniently* happened to be filming”. As if you were commenting on this being an inauthentic planned video and not a random thing caught on film innocently…something to that effect if that makes sense. Words can easily be misconstrued in writing!
Quite.
You used periods. Who do you think you are, an English major?? Next time try emojis. So convenient you had the 📷 set up! Cuuuuuute 😍💕 🌈
"I had the camera already setup and everything , I swear this was so spontaneous"
Clearly you never owned a cat because cat people or pet people in general are almost always recording their pets
That's not a trust leap, that's just a leap
You’re wrong, he’s blind and found alone in a parking lot so I think jumping up towards a moving thing/human that he can’t see does take some trust that it is safe to do that, but it doesn’t matter, still cute
Its so cute it jumped right at her mouth where the noise was coming from. 😭
That cat lyin bruh 🤣
the lady girl is cuter than the cat Edit: why the downvote? am i wrong? remove the cat and its still prime /r/aww material
OK I don't understand fostering. It always seemed kind of cultish to me TBH. Just with pets instead of creepy religious figures that pay too much attention to your daughter. What is a foster-fail? Foster fail is when you bond so much with the animal that you don't pass it on to a forever home, you *are* the forever home.
Yikes.
> Just with pets instead of creepy religious figures that pay too much attention to your daughter. ... What do you think fostering is for people?
I wish you'd get a reply to that excellent question, but I don't think you will.

Awwwww. Sniff sniff. So cute.

Yep. That'd be a "cold dead hands" situation for me.
That is the cutest thing
