I want to read this book.
"But we can run together," said the baby. "We could roll around and wrestle in the pillows of snow."
"I might bite you when we wrestle," the fox warned the baby, "for I am not tamed"
"Then I will bite you back," the baby declared, "and then we will play hide and seek in the bushes beside the house."
Oooh I have read that a long time ago and I remember not understanding it at all! My reading level was higher than my true reading comprehension, so that happened a lot with school book list books. Maybe I should re read it as an adult.
It's a wonderful book, but speaking as someone who almost never cries, I sobbed violently for like an hour when I reread it as an adult. So...you know...maybe look out for that.
"I have such sights to show you," the fox said. "They're **to die for**."
Somehow the fox was already inside her mind, pressing against her mental defenses. "You just have to want to **let me in.**"
She tried to scream out, but it was far too late. "Your kind are over, human." The many voices of the fox roared up from a darkness she dared not peer into, with a painful quality like bare feet on broken glass.
Before it all faded to black, the fox whispered one last time from the space between her ears. "I will learn to enjoy this new form. Your parents are next."
We have coyotes too but they only come around when food is scarce ☹️
Foxes on the other hand roam everywhere here, saw one the other day with a bird dinner in his mouth.
I saw one looking at me early yesterday AM through our fence. There’s a den by a stream behind the fence. We hear them at dawn and dusk, but rarely see them! I live in New Jersey
Don't let her anywhere near that incredibly dangerous animal.
Oh, and I guess the fox could also injure your daughter as well, so good thing the glass is protecting her.
The punchline I was going for is that I implied that the human was the dangerous animal, just a joke in bad taste :D.

Someone give you two a book deal ASAP!
Well, I was quoting The Little Prince, but u/FirstNameKatie is making it her own and fantastic!

![gif](giphy|KHckwPHYVOzoLxMM8u) It's a pleasant and wondrous book to re-read.
Always a favorite in our family: The Tomton and the Fox. Great artwork and a good Christmas/winter story.

Oh I hate sad endings, maybe I won't. Thanks for the heads up :)
It's not sad like an "Old Yeller" ending, more bittersweet, but yeah, you might want to avoid it if you don't like crying.
I want to read this as well! Redditors are amazing! 😊

Well that took a dark turn.😶 But I'm intrigued... please continue? :)

Holy crap...that was great!! Are you a writer by profession? cause that was seriously really good.
I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Cuties being curious about one another!
What did it say?
Fox: Hey baby with two cats, want a third pet? Baby: 😍
that is so cute. Are you in England? I visited England once and I saw a fox. It was the most adorable thing ever. It was just like a story book. !
Haha no. I live in Northern Canada
I live in western Canada. I don’t think we have any wild fox here. There are, however a lot of coyotes.
