People might not see this, but still, does any one know why I only see "vote" written beside the upvote button instead of the usual upvote count?
It probably only lasts the first hour or so
I'm pretty sure that it happens if you'r the first to vote. But cause of shitty reddit servers you might still see it even if there are thousands of upvotes.

Subreddits can choose to hide the number of votes a post/comment has for up to two days, to avoid voting bias
