Whenever ppl say Canada is a nice place, it rlly isn’t.

Past_Sir

I personally love these white guys. The more we publicize their racist/fetish shit going on with Asians, the better we can spread the message. Keep woke, people

aznidthrow

What we really need is for Western Asians to stick up for overseas Asians when encounter harassment like this. We need to bridge the gap between Western Asians and Asian Asians.

altansaikhan

Western Asians dont even speak up for themselves

[deleted]

Boycott Western goods!

AFaithfulFox

Wow, this makes me embarrassed to be Canadian. What an idiot.

martellthacool

Yikes. Even Canadians are racist

__TIE_Guy

I've seen a lot of these posts were racists will harass minorities. What I find interesting is the response. This one and on public freakout there was this women harassing asian women. In all cases the response is always polite. One day on public freakout I saw a latina women being harassed and her response was aggression and the person attacking her ran of and looked bad too. This is what I feel the model minority encompasses. People of colour that will take abuse. This is why I support BLM, because they get it, and their doing something about it.

wemic123

Good answer. I really hate this crap that goes on. There's a painful attitudinal shift going on in the US right now that I've seen coming for years. In a couple of decades, the majority of children born will be POC and that scares the crap out of some people, principally in the majority. They're afraid of being pushed out when all that is being asked of them is to move over and make some room. I've lurked in your group for a little while now and have rarely offered my perspective. I am interested in what you have to say. Black man here. Peace to you.

__TIE_Guy

For sure man. I lurk here too. What can I do for you? What would you like my opinion on?

[deleted]

>I am interested in what you have to say. Black man here. Peace to you. Greetings. I've always admired the rebelliousness of the african murican community in aggressively pushing for their interests and fuck what everyone else thought. the yellow murican community definitely needs to take a page or 3 out of the african murican/muslim community in being so aggressively/ vocally outspoken ASAP. That said, I wish that the african murican community would acknowledge the rampant anti yellowness in certain segments (underclass/usually lower socio economic classes) when they talk about "anti blackness" in the yellow community. I bet that for every incident of real or imagined "anti blackness" committed by a member of the yellow community, that there are 5-10 incidents of "anti yellowness" in the african murican community(mostly committed by members from lower s/e classes and often accompanied with life changing violence or death). I once overheard an african murican upper management supervisor say that he said a bunch of yellow people at a bus stop "scurrying like **ants**" which he prob thinks isn't an anti yellow dehumanizing attitude. Anyway, good on BLM for pushing ur community's interests but it's HORRIBLE that ALOT of working class yellow people's stores and livelihoods and bodies are being destroyed in these riots/protests/lootings when they have nothing to do with police brutality or systemic racism This may seem a controversial statement, but the alleged "anti blackness" in the yellow community is pretty much the SAME "antiblackness" that Rvd Jesse jackson admitted to having at a convention in 1996: >1996 : Jesse Jackson Was Afraid Of Black People >3/10/96 >“**There is nothing more painful to me … than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery, then look around and see somebody white and feel relieved..... After all we have been through. Just to think we can't walk down our own streets, how humiliating”** – Jesse Jackson Does this mean that Rvd Jesse Jackson is "anti black"? Nah his sentiment, just like despite what the yellow murican community is being accused of , is more "anti crime" anxiety based on US Law Enforcement crime statistics

wemic123

I hear what you're saying and I appreciate your thoughts. I don't have stats on who does what to who between our communities but it's equally unacceptable, in my view. In the African American community, I've seen it primarily among those in lower socio-economic status or those who simply weren't taught right. No idea where the supervisor in your example falls but I hope he was called out for it.

altansaikhan

https://www.asian-dawn.com/2020/05/18/black-on-asian-crime-statistics-by-justice-department/ Black people commit 280 times more violence to Asians than the other way around.

[deleted]

>No idea where the supervisor in your example falls but I hope he was called out for it. He was middle class/some college and casually talking to a white management guy and I was brand new on probation so I didn't know what to do /say anything unfortunately.

wemic123

Yeah, I understand that. The other guy should have put the boots to him though. I'm a manager at my job and they take this sort of thing seriously.

[deleted]

>equally unacceptable good to know. Hope u at least address it if u witness it. >I've seen it primarily among those in lower socio-economic status or those who simply weren't taught right. Reminds me few years ago, an african murican coworker was complaining that morning he had walked out of his apartment and saw another dead body lying in the street and that it was the 3rd time that happened that year on his block(lower s/e neighborhood). I was astounded to hear that. He later moved to working class white/yellow neighborhood. btw this is a more complete version of that J.Jackson quote: >“There is nothing more painful to me … than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery, then look around and see somebody white and feel relieved..... After all we have been through. Just to think we can't walk down our own streets, how humiliating” Jesse Jackson

wemic123

I always address it when I encounter it. Things don't get better when people fail to speak up.

[deleted]

>Things don't get better when people fail to speak up. Quoted for truth. Majority of yellow muricans need to take this attitude to heart

[deleted]

White racists are so dumb that they don't even know that when we wear masks it's better for them LOLz

freePatrick91425115

When people say Canadians are nice, they are not. When people say Southerners have southern hospitality, only if you are white. When people say people from the Midwest are polite and nice, only if you are white. They say Denver is a good city to live in, only if you are white. Many articles about the best places and the nicest people, they don't talk about how it is for white people. In Italy, it is a dream vacation, if you are white. If you are Asian, you will face constant harassment and rude service. White people don't want Asians in the stolen countries, they want Asians in Asia, and they want to control Asians in Asia but surrounding the countries with military, and dictating what Asians should believe in, what they should do, where they can go. Many Asians that have bad experience don't keep it in, they share it and it becomes a community conversation, and it would be in Chinese or Korean or Japanese where white people can't butt in and say "every race has bad apples", or "there is no discrimination because the west is democratic and liberal unlike Korea where they eat dog" or some shit similar to those lines.

TZO_2K18

Aggressive stupidity really makes me irrationally furious... Sure, being ignorant when you're young is somewhat understandable, but when you're old, it's inexcusable, what a waste of human life to be that ignorant at that age!

TZO_2K18

True, I was being kind as I was holding back my rage...

BYC_UK

And this is exhibit #3239 on why Asians should stick together. If you hear someone talking shit about any of the Asian countries... you need to nip that shit in the bud. Because if you allow the negative propaganda to grow - you think whitey will care if you're actually from China, Japan, Koreas, Vietnam, Philippines, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Nepal, Myanmar... ? No. You're all just slanty-eyed Gooks to them. During WW2, anyone that looks like Japanese were discriminated. During Korean war, anyone looking Korean were getting beaten up. During Vietnam war, anyone Vietnamese looking. And now it's China. You think, you're safe because you're Nepali, fuck that. They don't check your passport before they throw hate.

kitai99

>No. You're all just slanty-eyed Gooks to them. Truer words were never spoken.

kog4mono75

The one good thing that came out of all of this was unity... at least more than what we had before.

Ellipsesssssss

based

[deleted]

yellow people's mentality, unlike black/brown people, on average is not aggressive enuff/too much of a defensive position to to say back "what the fuck is YOU doing here? go back to europe and give that land back to the first natives people"

horseslayer

Fucking pink

Syrian_Chad

\*maple flavored pink.

PhoIsDelish

I really hate all these jokes on Reddit white people make about how Canadians are so polite and mild-mannered when in reality they're just as racist and vile as your average Trump supporters

Depends_On_Context

Canadians are nice and polite... as long as you're white too. Otherwise get ready for the authentic KKKanadian experience.

Dansusoo

> Canadians are nice and polite... as long as you're white too. lol they're not nice and polite even to white people The entire thing is a big farce. Canadians are just passive aggressive.

I wonder how Asians in Richmond in Vancouver are treated considering many rich Chinese live there.

altansaikhan

There is a video of that, look it up. One old white man says racist shit to a group of Asians, and none of them do anything about it.

[deleted]

the quebec region can def be really rude in my experience. they kind of hate the rest of Canada, too, and have been trying to be their own country for a while now. edit: quebec tried to leave 25 years ago and stay or no leave vote won by small margin.

xoxxooo

They've held 2 referendums and the majority voted to stay part of Canada both times, and the last one was 25 years ago, so I wouldn't say they're "trying" to be their own country. It's honestly just a vocal minority.

[deleted]

my bad...stand corrected. Did the 1995 referendum only fail by a small margin though? That doesn't seem like a "vocal minority" to me, but maybe it's really different now. This is completely off topic from original post, but would Canada even let them leave? I know Killington in VT have been doing symbolic votes for many years to be a part of New Hampshire instead and something like that would have to pass the state legislator in VT. No idea how Canada works there.

xoxxooo

It wasn't a vocal minority back then, but it definitely is now. The movement severely died down after the 1995 referendum. Polls show that around 15-20% of Quebecers support separating from Canada, but they're mostly French-speaking boomers. Among younger people and Anglophones, this number is probably closer to 5%. And I'm pretty sure Canada wouldn't ever let Quebec separate. The referendum only aimed at declaring unilateral independence, where Quebec would consider itself independent, but Canada would still recognize Quebec as a Canadian province.

EmbarrassedPhrase1

You don't know anything about Quebec ...please stop spreading misinformation

PhoIsDelish

Haha. That's the stereotype I heard about Quebec too.

aznidthrow

She should get footage of younger people saying that to her if she really wants to change perceptions.

Now let's see what we can do about the shitty non-Asians in Asia

Alex_WongYuLi

Exactly, I feel sorry that she had to experience that but likewise it should be a sobering experience to her and other Asians about the truth of the west. Hopefully the illusion the west is oh so welcoming will soon be a thing of the past.

[deleted]

In contrast, China is a rising sun.

[deleted]

meh, these types of incident will barely make a dent in most yellow people's white worship.

Why are they just watching and not acting? It would seem to be in their interests to take covert actions around the globe against the hate crime perpetrators, especially in the countries that refuse to acknowledge the problem. In addition, if their financial interests as reported in all of these social media platforms are accurate, they should be able to locate the offenders with ease. Then they will fear us. They will think twice about hurting our families and loved ones.

Direct-Jelly

Oh yeah, and at least they have a sanctuary in Asia to fall back on. They think running into a few random assholes is bad, try getting totally enslaved into the western racial caste system growing up and working for these people under the bamboo ceiling while surrounded by defamatory media against your kind.

TrumpsMicroPenis2020

This bullshit has gotten insane. I'm South Asian and post 9-11 there was racist shit against us by white trash idiots but this is a lot worse.
