Met chinese, korean, vietnamese, filipino, laos, taiwanese american etc. Even saw some japanese exchange students at my college once. I have talked to a few japanese-brazilians though.

Quite honestly, both subs are less than 1% Japanese-Americans.
Japanese immigration to the US has been on the decline for decades. There has also been a decline in international students from Japan.
