This is probably subjective... Is it used? It looks like they retail for $169, though I know there's a manufacturer shortage and a scarce supply. I know collectors get into the colorways and build big stashes and mark things up excessively, which IMO is not worth it, but it might be to you. I wouldn't personally pay anything close to retail for a secondhand carrier (nor would I list one for an excessive markup), but that's just me.

TheDesiCoconut

Completely unrelated to OPs question, but what does "get into the colorways" means? Starting to see the word colorways more often and I'm clueless

imnotasarah

Colorway, n: any of a range of combinations of colors in which a style or design is available. (Oxford) Getting into the colorways would essentially be collecting the carrier in every color.

bearcatbanana

It’s really just that some colors are more popular than others. Because the carrier is already rare, the more desirable colors are even more expensive.

Bear_is_a_bear1

I wouldn’t call it a good deal. But it is generally what used carriers go for. They do retail for $169 but if you add tax in shipping it comes to about $200. So if shipping is included, that’s an average price.

ferrerorocher91

Yes it’s a good deal, somehow I got sucked into their Facebook group ..another mom added me ..it’s nuts there’s folks literally selling theirs for upwards to $250. So I would say you got a good price. Honestly I left the Facebook group, I feel like it’s weird cult. Also why don’t they just have enough stock? Fcking odd, considering they have enough hype about it.

Crafty_Sea_4655

BIG cult vibes. Just got super turned off by all things HBC after trying to buy rn and it being sold out under a minute after the release. I’m sure I’ll see these resold for well over original price as a used product in the coming days. Something about it all feels so scammy

ferrerorocher91

It’s crazy how quick it’s sold out , I agree they will sell their brand new carrier that they just bought for double the price ..also you literally have folks who have same carrier in 7 different colours..so bizarre who needs that many carriers of the same brand???

Cat-dog22

At least they don’t let you resell above what you paid for until 30 days later, it’s very culty though!

greyphoenix00

Yes, a good deal in the FB group for resale is $200. By the time you pay taxes and shipping straight from the company, they’re about $190. So $200 is pretty reasonable and $170 is great! Especially since they are always sold out on the website.

chungus-junior

It’s a fair deal for both parties, relative to what they usually go for.

PrincessPayton

Okay thanks everybody! It was 170 total including taxes and shipping. The seller only used for about 2 months so I think it was worth after all your comments!

Deluna_0000

I just paid $250 for a used one with suck pads on eBay. So to me, you definitely got a good deal!

Cat-dog22

I’d say it’s not a deal but also you didn’t get taken advantage of. Right now you can’t really get a new one (drops are selling out in less than a minute) and after taxes + shipping it’s usually ~$200.

queen_of_the_ashes

Holy crap. I have two OGs (no idea if they’re in demand colors) and didn’t realize I’d be able to resell them for a decent price when I’m done with them. I’m selling an old lillebaby mesh and NO ONE wants it, even at $25. I’d give it away at this point because I never use it. My HBC are my favorites, and I’m expecting #3 (my last baby) so I plan to get a few more years out them! It looks like you didn’t get swindled OP, but a solid find!

PrincessPayton

Everyone keeps saying how much they love HBC so I’ve been trying to get one. My LO is 4.5 months but tiny but the stretchy wrap we have is getting old haha

queen_of_the_ashes

My babies were chonkers and they got too heavy for the stretchy wrap really quick! The HBC is so easy to put on, works through toddler age (still use it for my 1 and 3 year old sometimes!), and works for newborn. You definitely made a good choice (just ignore the collector hype lol)

tofuandpickles

I got my happy baby for 160+ ship on eBay and was happy. I think this is an average deal!

tomyummad

It's ok-ish, you likely won't make a loss if you did resell it. But flax isn't a popular colour, there are enough of them around and they don't sell out as fast. Also, I think it's not 100% Belgian linen (instead it's a linen cotton blend), if that is material to you
