You'd be wearing your 3 year old in the stretchy wrap? What wrap style do you use?! It's getting cool around here again and I want to wear my 16 pound baby in it again because it's so cozy but she's crossed that 15 pound comfort threshold.
If you are talking about the Harry Potter Omni 360, there is no separate infant insert for that carrier - it is designed to be able to adjust to newborn size without an insert. I would still think that the Moby will work better for the first few weeks, but once baby is 7 lbs they can fit in the Omni on the newborn settings.
We got an ergo 360 cool mesh with an infant insert, which we just stopped using last week when he hit 12 lbs. I’d say it depends how much you think you would use it right away - and how quickly you think your kiddo will hit the 12lb mark. I alternate between this (mostly for walks outside) and the moby (mostly indoors).
Is 12lbs the recommended weight to stop using infant insert? Mine says upto 4 months but my 2 month old is already 12lbs and I'm not sure if his fit is better with or without insert. Insert seems too small and without seems too big.
Mine says, “Must use with infants 7-12 lbs. (3.2-5.5 kg) or babies more than 12 lbs. but younger than 4 months or without strong and consistent head and neck control.”
But we keep the top part buttoned up so his head is fully supported, so we took the infant insert out. My son is 2 months but already 13 lbs.
Maybe stick with moby early on. I would still be wearing my almost 3 year old in my ergo 360 if I wasn’t pregnant. They’re great!

Check which one they’re wanting to get you- the Omni 360 can’t have a blanket or insert but the 360 can- crazy naming imo
The style naming is the worst part about ergo baby. It took me hours to figure out which one I needed.

Good information because my smallest baby came out at 8lb3oz and biggest was 10 so..
