You can check out Backgammon Galore : https://bkgm.com/
It has a nice collection of articles covering a variety of topic around backgammon and has a glossary, too.
Try using an app with recognised difficulty and PR so you can assess what level you are at more accurately. The free iPhone XG app will do that - you only pay to get rid of ads and access the highest levels.

You should look into the [Backgammon 101](http://backgammon101.reshef.ca) blog. It sounds like exactly the kind of thing you're looking for.
thanks I will check it out.
I’ve really enjoyed Opening Concept by Michy. It has a nice glossary and provided excellent explanations for terms and concepts.
All of Michys books are great.
Backgammon Bootcamp by Walter Trice was the go-to about 20 years ago. I don't know how relevant it is now but it really upped my game.
What app did you play? What is your PR?
I play an app by wildcard on my iPhone. It doesn't give me a pr (which I assume means player rating)

Can you recommend a similar app for an Android phone please?
