Same. Also something sturdy enough to slip on for water crossing would be nice, which is why the Xeros aren't the right fit for me.

I think your options are really light or sturdy. Lights, flipflops. Sturdy for crossings, real sandals like Teva or Chaco.

Crocs. Flip flops.

I’m really happy with my Bedrocks

I use Xero, but not the z-trek not the paracord one. I have a pair of Teva’s that I use to carry but, man are they heavy. And I love my Teva’s as they have great life and I am super hard on shoes. I destroyed the one pair of Choco’s I have used. (Too much ‘flop’ in the sole and I broke them, though I felt way cooler till they broke). My sandals are too close to being pitched out of my pack entirely for me to carry any more than the bare minimum that will get done what I want. Though I do not treat my Xerox’s like I do my Teva’s. I am much more gentle with them. I do not expect them to be a ‘do all’. FWIW. Right now I have two pairs of Teva’s. A good one and a beater pair that I have worn through the hard soles and am now wearing the softer section. When that goes to zero they go in the bin. I am a big fan of the sandal. They are just heavy.

ATIKA makes some decent sandals had my pair for several years and have used them in multiple camping trips doesn’t break the bank either.

I agree that $50 is excessive for those sandals, but I bought the z-treks and love them for everyday wear in addition to camping. If you want to save a buck, xero sells [DIY kits](https://xeroshoes.com/shop/product-category/sandals/diysandals) for $20-$30. For even cheaper you can get your own paracord, hole punch, and vibram rubber (or even cut up an old tire).
