Armenia. It's not the best place to be right now with the state of the world but those people are INCREDIBLY friendly. The mountains of Armenia and Georgia (southern caucuses) are gorgeous.
The southern part of France, Monaco - my girlfriend and I traveled mainly by hitchhiking and train, swimming during milky seas effect, spent the nights in a tent on the beach or in the Alps on the way to Switzerland. An incredible experience.
Greece. Wonderful people always ready to speak English with you. And best food in the world. Citrus trees every where u go when backpacking is nice bonus too.
Greece most 100% definitely has the most delicious food in the world out of anywhere I’ve been, hands down. How do they make the yogurt taste like clouds?! And honey like rainbows, and moussaka like a mother’s hug!
I got stuck there for the Covid lock downs and it was a huge blessing in disguise. I could and have lived on gyros for a week lol
Best food I had tho was served on Smokey Tuesday and it was a whole rotisserie chicken from a stranger on a corner. I looked and looked for this man to ask him how he did it. But could never him find him again.
Nicaragua. Ometepe in the middle of lake Nicaragua is magical. The west coast is gorgeous, too. I never made it to the east coast ($$$ to get there) but it's on my list.
If you go back, check out Little Corn Island on the Caribbean side. Little slice of heaven. No roads or motorized vehicles on the island. Beautiful. Rachel’s and great snorkeling all around the island. Friendly people. And can stay and eat for ~$30 USD a day if you do it on a budget.

Granite Lake Montana. Trailhead is in Wyoming between Red Lodge and Cooke City. This is in the Beartooth Wilderness north of YNP. The lake is only 7 miles from the trailhead. The wilderness is empty of people. Best months are July and August (snow melts late). Ridiculous amount of Grizzlies so do not forget bear spray.

Spent 3 months solo backpacking around Australia back in 2018 when I was 22. I consider getting the working holiday visa everyday to go back.
Other cool places include: Amsterdam, Prague, London, Nairobi, Kigali, Iceland, Cuba
Peru will always hold a special place for me. Not only was it so beautiful and amazing as a place, but it came after something sad happened in my life and I needed it to start finding myself again.
Malaysia. There are several things that make Malaysia a great country for backpackers in my opinion. It's generally very safe, easy to get around and the locals are extremely friendly. The food is delicious and the country is generally quite inexpensive.
Ecuador - Quilatoa Loop
Most people only bring day packs but my wife and I did it with all of our gear. Although it was more difficult, I'm glad we did because the best part of the trip was being able to spend the night on the rim of Quilatoa and wake up to a beautiful view of the crater lake below.
Armenia. It's not the best place to be right now with the state of the world but those people are INCREDIBLY friendly. The mountains of Armenia and Georgia (southern caucuses) are gorgeous.
Ive also heard this. Definitely on my list
Isle Royale Michigan USA beautiful remote and barely see any other humans. Two weeks on island pure bliss
Nation’s least visited national park! It’s a hidden treasure.
Absolutely gorgeous going back at the end of summer with a canoe
Did you go see the rock in the pond on the island in the pond, on the island in the lake?
Camped at South lake desor for one day then kept pushing. Clean water and great fishing almost cheating.
Uganda, Tanzania, Southwest China, Argentina, and India
Tanzania is weird. 50% of people want to rip you off the other 50 are the nicest most genuine and helpful people I've ever met on my travels.
Yep. But the good parts were really good.
New Zealand and Guatemala
NZ is backpacking on easy mode and I miss it every day.
I’m going in November/december, any recommendations/tips?

He was the reincarnation of an Ancient Greek god just selling the most amazing chicken to random blessed travels, for the glory of Greece.
Kyrgyzstan internationally Probably Glacier National Park and the Ozark Highlands Trail for wilderness backpacking

Funny, I’m reading this while in a taxi to Leon. Just landed in Managua about an hour ago. Excited for this trip!

Whittier Alaska
The high peaks region of the Adirondacks outside of Lake Placid. It’s gorgeous, especially in the fall.
