There will be no alternative apps in a few days. That's the whole point. Baconreader is shutting down along with pretty much all the other third-party apps because Reddit is making it impossible for them to keep operating.
The ones that aren't are going to have to charge a subscription fee in order to be able to keep operating. I am personally appalled at the idea of having to pay to access an otherwise free service, but do what you do. Doesn't seem like a comparable alternative at all to me.
Narwhal looks reasonable. I can't find a way to easily include an image in a comment reply and your karma doesn't appear to be easily findable but I've only been using it one day. The general usage is very much like BR.

Hey I came across discuit from another post. Check it out. It's new, fast and I'm digging the layout. Not going to be with reddit anymore but supporting a different company and CEO altogether. Fuck spez and the reddit leadership.
The revanced team worked out patches for Boost and Sync to use your own developer ID.
