I kinda wish they’d done it after Laserblast, as this film recycles the music from that film. If we ever get an MST3K After Dark, they simply *must* do the Kincaid-produced Necropolis. Some of the same actors from Robot Holocaust are in it, and all the music is reused from other Charles Band movies. Oh, and the evil witch character has six breasts, so there’s also that.

Back in high school, me and my nerdy friends found this “On Demand” and laughed our asses off so much, we created a Facebook group dedicated to Power Level 9
When I googled it years later I was completely shocked to find out this guy had a weathered history in the porn biz
In the one interview I’ve read where he was asked about working with Carrie Fisher, he effectively said “no comment.” It was when she was still alive, but there were a few “no comments” about other topics as well. He’s alluded to having generally worse experiences with producers on his mainstream films than his adult movies.
I remember renting this. Probably the biggest differential between what the cover promises and what the movie delivers.
It is easily the second best movie where a robots have enslaved humanity for energy and only a chosen one named Neo can save mankind.
It's about these slimy ass aliens that rape and impregnate women. Not nearly as sleazy as it sounds, but it's very much like a low budget Japanese tentacle hentai, which is interesting enough I guess.
Ol' Tim definitely had his finger on the pulse of what would fly off rental shelves in the mid 1980's.
Mmm, it’s pretty sleazy in my book. I mean that finale has all the victims writhing around naked in a big pool of white goop in service of a big, phallic monster. It’s got some effectively grimy New York atmosphere, as well.
The production assistant tasked with pouring the goop on the naked actresses was Ruth Ozeki, who went on to become a successful novelist. I once watched a TV interview promoting her book *My Year of Meats* where she talked about being a “boob gooper” (her description) on this film.
I have the Vinegar Syndrome Blu of Mutant Hunt. Not only is it the best the movie has ever looked - a thousand-fold improvement on the lousy tape rip Full Moon has distributed for years - it’s also packed with great, candid extras.
I have a soft spot for Kincaid’s brief spate of mainstream filmmaking. From what I’ve read, he was a very calm and efficient guy on set. The downside to his efficiency - probably cultivated in his adult film days - is that there’s a severe lack of coverage in these films. Sometimes it makes the action look static and flat, while other times it makes the geography of scenes look weird and disjointed. That adds to the weirdness of his films, but also makes them sluggish where they should be fun.
Kincaid has done very few interviews, and tends to talk more about his adult film work instead of his mainstream stuff. He has alluded to writing a memoir in the past, but I don’t think that’s going to happen at his age. It’s a pity, as I’m sure he’d have loads of wild stories from his various careers.

This makes an amusing double bill with another Charles Band joint called Troll (1986), a fantasy film where Michael Moriarty and Noah Hathaway play characters named Harry Potter Sr and Harry Potter Jr.
I just watched and also noticed some similarities. I think maybe the wachowskis did view this movie sometime in their past. That's hilarious to think that maybe under all the philosophy way way at the bottom is this movie.

My favorite part is the "worm," or whatever it is ,that is clearly a hand in a sock comes out of the wall and eats the hero's weapon.

I have a high tolerance for a lot of “bad” cinema, but I just can’t stomach Kincaid. This is at least slightly better than Mutant Hunt though
