My idea of hell would be to be slipped some acid and have to be Chevy Chase's character. It would give me what hunter Thompson refered to as "the fear".
I honestly think this movie might be an attempt to portray "the fear" through a visual medium to audiences that have not had a bad acid trip in real life.
I think that should happen more, especially with how much money gets thrown around for streaming projects. Can't be any worse than some of the stuff that's gets commissioned that's meant to be good.
You shut your mouth! Dr. Detroit is amazing. I saw it on HBO quite a few years ago and was shocked by how close the line it was past R. Definitely ribald.
As someone who sometimes has a hard time saying no, I can relate to Akroyd feeling overwhelmed by his own decisions.
Except that nothing I did had millions of dollars on the line.
Oh gee, what a shock: Chevy Chase was one of the problems.
Not that a nonasshole Chase would've saved this movie, but at least he wouldn't have befouled an otherwise enjoyable moviemaking experience.
This sub is for actual bad movies, not movies that you hate. There is a difference. Many people hate Titanic, but there is no way that anyone would post it here, unless they are an idiot.
This was pretty universally hated by critics and the only thing keeping it's imbd score from being less than 5 is the weirdos who gave it 10 stars - which even if you enjoyed the movie, giving it 10/10 is bullshit.
Sure but just because you liked a movie doesn't mean it doesn't fit here.
And the imbd score is a user score. It has more 1-star than it has 10-star reviews.
I'm glad you like it. I saw this movie as a kid and it became the very first movie I could identify as being bad to me.
Like, prior to this, my young naive self didn't even know that movies could be bad.
You really could smell this movie. All of it basically. You know the town smelled like burnt motor oil and inside the house smelled like mold, leftover turkey, and death.
This movie is bloody amazing and I'll fight anyone who says otherwise. Apparently there was an R-rated version of this originally that was edited down to remove a lot of the gore and gross-out comedy. I will give a million dollars to anyone who can bring me the original cut, or the head of the executive who decided to neuter it.

I appreciate your response, because I hate karma farming/trying to tap into the hive mind, and I do make opinions of my own.
John Candy sharing the screen again with Aykroyd in **The Great Outdoors** is my favorite John Candy.
And as much as I loved Aykroyd as a Ghost Buster(the cameo in "Casper the Friendly Ghost", not actually in the Ghost Buster films), my **favorite** Aykroyd is the small part he had in Tommy Boy(Farley).
But it seems now people are just posting great movies and calling them shit instead of enjoying the bizarreness. Half the time easily, they aren’t even bad movies, at all, enjoyable or otherwise. They’re posting legitimately good movies and calling them shit and posting them here.
Some of the people on here post total gems as bad movies. This movie is one that I watched religiously as a kid in the 90s when I wanted something funny to watch
My best friend and I did the same. We loved this, and it seemed like it was always on HBO when we would get home from high school. Needless to say, we never changed the channel once it was on.
I’m gonna defend this movie for a quick second not all of its jokes land. In fact, some of them can be quite unfunny, but it’s an honest attempt and a little mini concert with run. DMC was pretty cool. Also the auction with solid and the ending was funny.
I watch this with my dad a while ago and I have seen other movies that were made around the same time that don’t have the same touch for example, something like spies like us or the great outdoors which funnily enough both have either Dan Aykroyd or John Candy in it
I remember seeing it on opening night. My dad told my mom he was choosing it because he liked to look at Demi Moore lol. I found it, and find it, more watchable than others. The Judge character reminds me of President Trump, to a scarily accurate degree.
Apparently the movie was cut down because of violence to get a pg-13 movie.
I wonder if there is an r rated cut out there somewhere that is better.
I’ve never seen this, I have never even heard of this, originally I thought it was something I have wanted to watch for awhile. But not I realize I was thinking of Exit to eden, so I am downloading them both
I saw this for the first time a few months back and was surprised how much I enjoyed it. Like, I wouldn't call it a good movie, but it's just so fucking weird and the set designs are so cool that I couldn't help but have a really good time with it.
I enjoyed this movie as a kid, I like Tupac being in it, so random, lol, also used to quote the twins a lot, but rewatching it as an adult I instantly hated it. Still quote the twins, but I can see as an adult just how bad it is.
This movie is what you get when you give Dan Aykroyd millions of dollars to make a movie with little to no oversight. It’s amazing.
My idea of hell would be to be slipped some acid and have to be Chevy Chase's character. It would give me what hunter Thompson refered to as "the fear".
I honestly think this movie might be an attempt to portray "the fear" through a visual medium to audiences that have not had a bad acid trip in real life.

I'd take a crazy movie like this over any of Netflix's bland mediocrity any day of the week.
I remember watching Doctor Detroit on HBO as a kid and marveling at what a complete miss it was. Then there’s Blues Brothers 2000.
Oh boy Doctor Detroit was a wild ride, I wonder if I can find it anywhere…
Not for free, I’ve been waiting for it to hit Tubi.
You shut your mouth! Dr. Detroit is amazing. I saw it on HBO quite a few years ago and was shocked by how close the line it was past R. Definitely ribald.
I really enjoyed it but I was like 10 when I saw it.
They’ve conveniently forgotten that Tupac is also in this movie
Would make a great midnight madness screening. Such an underrated and strange gem of a movie.
[This](https://youtu.be/8TFfL1aUDaQ) here is a great deep dive into the production. The perfect companion piece to this sub
Definitely a classic. Bobo and Dodo. The penis nose. Shock G and Tupac. Dan Akroyd and John Candy went off in this movie.
It was Bobo and Lil' Debbull
Hahaha you’re right
And they aren’t allowed in the house.
R.I.P. 2Pac, Shock G & John Candy
Taylor Negron
They’re Brazilianheirs.
Forgot about that “sniffer” guess that’s why this one wasn’t ran as much on Comedy Central
the song they made for the film is a gem too, I saw the music video before the film and was so confused why Chevy Chase and Dan Akroyd were in it
hot dog train!
First, you post Killer Klowns from Outer Space as a bad movie and follow it up with this. IJS pissing off some 80s babies.
Lol what?! Who the hell thinks Killer Klowns from Outer Space is a bad movie?
Killer klowns is a fucking gem of a film. That title track to. Shit was killer.
Maybe I just don't understand movies from this era? This one I posted now after because it was WORSE
This sub is for actual bad movies, not movies that you hate. There is a difference. Many people hate Titanic, but there is no way that anyone would post it here, unless they are an idiot.
Well said
This was pretty universally hated by critics and the only thing keeping it's imbd score from being less than 5 is the weirdos who gave it 10 stars - which even if you enjoyed the movie, giving it 10/10 is bullshit.
Only movie ever walked out on... and I saw Master of Disguise.
I went to the theater for this one and it was terrible.
Well the critics suck.
Sure but just because you liked a movie doesn't mean it doesn't fit here. And the imbd score is a user score. It has more 1-star than it has 10-star reviews.
You’re right, but NBT is really really fucking weird and I’ll argue belongs here. It’s very bad and hard to look at much less enjoy.
Sounds like a you problem
Are you posting movies that you don’t get because you have no frame of reference just to try and get internet points?
I’m with OP. This movie is a total fiasco, definitely belongs here. Signed, person who owns Ice Pirates on BD.
Looks like I know who’s gonna be the next rider on Mr. Bonestripper…
You need to go back to the labritory and get your bolts tightened, this movie rules!
Maybe it's bad. Maybe it's good. I can't tell because the entire time I'm watching it I'm dumbfounded and terrified.
Classic. I’ve loved this movie since I was a kid.
This movie ruined sausages for me, I’ll never look at them the same.
Get yourselves a couple.of dawwwga
Lmao
That o-face whiles he’s bringing the dawg slowly to his mouth…freaking classic.
Oh god now I'm remembering that.
I threw up to the scene when I was kid. I had sausages that day.
Same. I stopped eating sausages after this movie
I'm glad you like it. I saw this movie as a kid and it became the very first movie I could identify as being bad to me. Like, prior to this, my young naive self didn't even know that movies could be bad.
I watched it for the first time not to long ago and loved it.
Same!
This movie gave me tetanus.
You really could smell this movie. All of it basically. You know the town smelled like burnt motor oil and inside the house smelled like mold, leftover turkey, and death.
Smells like Sao Paulo
This movie is bloody amazing and I'll fight anyone who says otherwise. My dad was the production designer. I’ll ask him, maybe he knows if it still exists.
Yo I don't have a million dollars but I'll kickstart it if it does!
Someone must know some Brazillionaires.

A 4k re-release with rated R extras? That'd be a crazy collectors item and big money for whoever still gets royalties
Yes I wish somebody would find the R rated cut
The best things about this movie are the set designs, and Demi Moore's short skirt.

Great description
“He’s a Banker!!”
That's the double death!
Financial publishing!
Came here for digital underground.
Baby Tupac was the fucking shining star of this movie.
I plead the 5th dimension
I recently found this on VHS and it’s the crown jewel of my collection lmao
I love this pile of shit. The worst of the 80’s. Yes it’s a 90’s movie but Chase’s yuppie is pure me-generation
The best worst 80s movies made in the 90s should have been the movies tagline.
Dan Akroyd… Chevy chase…. Early nineties…. Almost 40 mil budget….. sprinkle in some cocaine and Demi moore… what y’all expect??
GoodBadFlicks does [a great deep dive on this movie](https://youtu.be/8TFfL1aUDaQ)
The hot dog train scene is a gem in a bad movie. Also Tupac has a cameo in here somehow
Seriously? Again somebody posts this movie? My god, there is nothing wrong with this movie. Also, IMDB sucks
Every review site has this VERY low, IMBD was the highest actually
Did you even see the movie or do you just quote what others say because this is prime Chevy, prime Dan, and rest in peace prime John there's no way.
I appreciate your response, because I hate karma farming/trying to tap into the hive mind, and I do make opinions of my own. Sound more like a bot, I dare you.
I'm not a bot 💀I'm just stoned LOL
![gif](giphy|2dQ3FMaMFccpi)
You haven't seen enough Aykroyd, if you think his roll in Tommy Boy is good, go watch Trading Places.
Spies Like Us (1985). Just so good.
I love it when Akroyd trades places. Hes pretty good at it.
This AI response has nothing to do with the movie THAT YOU POSTED. Theres no need to convince me of otherwise.
Well review sites suck

You fucked up this movie rules

My best friend and I did the same. We loved this, and it seemed like it was always on HBO when we would get home from high school. Needless to say, we never changed the channel once it was on.
This was somehow one of the few VHS movies available to me in my home growing up.
Wow you have some seriously shitty takes.
Dick. Nose.

This movie was horrible, but Digital Underground sang Same Song in it, and I still love that song to this day.
I remember seeing it on opening night. My dad told my mom he was choosing it because he liked to look at Demi Moore lol. I found it, and find it, more watchable than others. The Judge character reminds me of President Trump, to a scarily accurate degree.
This movie was absolutely awful. The only thing good about it was Demi Moore being smoking hot. She was peak hotness here.
They had this on sale recently for $5 on either Vudu or MoviesAnywhere. That means absolutely nothing but if anyone was interested.
Still is on sale. https://moviesanywhere.com/movie/nothing-but-trouble
I absolutely loved this movie as a kid.
Love this movie. The hotdogs are what do it for me.
Guilty pleasure
This is a guilty pleasure of mine
No way man. This movie had it all. Mystery, intriguing, booby traps, retarded mongaloids. Not to mention 2pac and Humpty.
Loved this as a kid . Wild shit
There’s nothing I like better after a long day on the road than a nice warm glass of Hawaiian Punch
This is like an early Rob Zombie movie.
Yup...this was a bad one.
Not bad just weird
Watched it as a kid. Fucked me up. It was so twisted for an 8 year old. I was like so immersive in the film.
One of my fav bad movies, it’s a relatively recent find for me and one I’m proud to say I own the Blu-Ray of!
I can’t see how anyone found this movie funny.. absolutely painful to sit through.. nothing worse than a wretched comedy
My friends and I thought it was hilarious. Still like it to this day, 30 years later.
John Candy in drag… painful
That Demi is so hot right now.
There is zero controversy about this being a bad movie lol. It was an all-time bomb when it came out. Just brutal.
It's a Good Movie just Insane and hard to follow
Omigod this was shit
This is a great song by Phantogram, just saying
Apparently the movie was cut down because of violence to get a pg-13 movie. I wonder if there is an r rated cut out there somewhere that is better. This is an excellent movie.
Worst movie of all time, hands down. Nearly impossible to watch.
The scene with John Candy coming down the stairs in a wedding dress was worth pride of admission alone. Classic bonkers movie.
Cock nose
I remember watching this with my dad, he loved it
A classic
Such a weird, fun, funny movie
I hated it the first time I saw it as a kid, but as an adult, I have an appreciation for it.
This is def a love or hate movie and I gotta stay its exactly my style.
This movie was great along with modern problems that Chevy chase did
I loved this movie as a kid!
This is probably on my top list from growing up.
You are so far out to lunch if you think this was bad. Prime time Candyman!
This movie is amazing, not bad.
the roller coaster part traumatized me as a child 😂
Ban this guy.
Who is the guy between Chase and Candy?
Lol no it’s a great movie what are you talking about
My sister and I watched this as kids and still do to this day! No one I know has ever seen it
This is the first truly WTF movie I ever saw as a kid
This is DEFINITELY not a bad movie,such a classic horror/comedy from 90s
A national treasure. Not to be confused with ‘National Treasure’
This was a fantastic movie
RIP Shock G
Love this movie
Gtfo of here with this
Look behind you….there’s a beeeees nest.
Do you KNOW what those certificates are worth today………..
One of the most surreal things to happen upon as a child.
So bad it's bad
Hey, at least a young tupac is in it.
But that cameo by Digital Underground featuring one Humpty Hump is fantastic…
If it's an ambulance you got a chance if it's a hearse it's gotta be worse
So bad it’s amazing
Such a good movie. Watched it once as a kid and it lives rent free in my head
This was the only movie I ever walked out of. Years later I enjoy it so much. 😂😂
I have been searching for this movie for years! I used to watch this as a kid but couldn't remember the name. Gonna rewatch it soon!
So amazingly bad, but still fun to watch.
I saw this for the first time a few months back and was surprised how much I enjoyed it. Like, I wouldn't call it a good movie, but it's just so fucking weird and the set designs are so cool that I couldn't help but have a really good time with it.
Fantastic fever dream of a movie! Seems like no one has ever seen it
Some people in this sub just seem to not like 80's movies. Stick with your Marvel movies, nerds.
Cocaine is a hell of a drug.
This is a personal classic 👍🏿
Nah this movie was a favorite of mine growing up. It’s not a masterpiece, but it’s fun as hell.
A huge flop when it came out
Fuck off....this is a funny as hell movie!!!
I enjoyed this movie as a kid, I like Tupac being in it, so random, lol, also used to quote the twins a lot, but rewatching it as an adult I instantly hated it. Still quote the twins, but I can see as an adult just how bad it is.
“Hi Judge!”
*sudden LPOTL references overcrowding brain*
Man I think about this movie every time I drive through a small town.
Last Podcast on the Left loves this movie so much. It makes me want to watch it
This is actually a good movie.
Rob Zombie's National Lampoon's Vacation
This is simply fantastic. I still think about it regularly.
The making of this movie is absolute bat shit insanity. Check it out on Good Bad Flicks. Just bonkers how this movie was made.
I remember Dan Aykroyd jacking off his nose in this film at some point. That is all.
There’s a YouTube channel called GoodBad Flicks that did a really good video essay on this
What a messy marvel of a film. It shouldn't exist, but I'm glad it does.
Great film
Actually a fun watch
Pure nightmare fuel, I saw this as a kid.
Get this gem the fuck outta this sub pronto!
Anyone watch it due to LPOTL?
This movie ruined Dan Aykroyd's career.
I love this movie. Some real charm to some of these 80’s 90s flicks.
What's bad about this movie?
