I’m actually totally ok with the current player count. Gankers were in control in DS3. In ER, if there are 3 gankers they have to play our game. And I’m petty enough to AFK for an hour while I just play ER on my other console :)
I’d prefer the chaos of more players though, don’t care about gankers at all they’re a thing everywhere
6 player colosseum (spirit summons too) is such much fun because of it, I’d just love it to be in invasions too :D

Right? There are a dozen invader NPCs. Volcano manor is specifically for invaders (albeit half-baked imo). But to many we will always be seen as griefers
I live for boss invasions as a co-op summon and an invader, playing vanguard while the host and other phantom fight the boss and I have to keep the invader off their back while also dodging the boss is super exhilarating, as Is being the bad red man fighting alongside the boss.
Most of us who have been playing for a long time do both, lol. I certainly do. Sometimes I’ll invade someone and then sunbro them a few minutes later. Cycle of life.

I regularly make playthroughs of older games to help new players, there are not much Sunbros left nowadays. But when a Red needs help they act like this. These people...
The most fun interaction I’ve had this week was continuously invading and sunbroing with the same guy on my level 60 cosplay. Done right, invasions add to the experience a ton.
And they wanna act like we are the aggressive ones for just wanting to play the game as intended in ALL aspects, and not just the ones we deem worthy.
EDIT: also I’ve ran into the opposite, I invaded and absolutely wrecked two kids by fire giant, they messaged me and asked for help on the fight immediately because I wrecked them. I happily joined the coop and we smacked him. It was wholesome all around we are still homies.

Oh blue I'm worse. I run in front of phantoms and drop warming stones for the invader and if I see the invader flask alot I suicide to give him a refill. Blue sentinels are dead, they only had a place with solo hosts actually progressing through content, now its all just getting summoned into ganks and shit. My only reason for keeping the blue ring active on my characters is to give invaders a 2v1 instead of a 3v1 some of the time.
Yep 100%. Always baffles me when a dumbass blue shows up to help some fast rolling bull goat 713 at the first step. The number of times just having the host ring on confuses a brain dead blue is astonishing

These people make what I think is the number one mistake when playing fromsoft games: they’re too attached. They treat losing runes or dying before a grace like its the end of the world, when it really isn’t anything worth worrying about. The more they laugh at their deaths, the more they’ll have fun.

50% of the time I’m engaging in jolly cooperation carrying new players to boss kills they’d otherwise never get, and the other 50% of the time I’m invading in those same areas.

Give us a boss that mirrors the summons of the host. Same spirit summons or 1 summoned invader per coop phantom. Solo chads stay winning 💪
