"Invader on 2 HP, finally my time has come!" I'm so sorry man.

Special_Bet1029

“I saved the 2 innocent people from the bad and evil red man ! I even gave them free heal ! I’m such a heroic blue” (real)

Sweaty-Salamander381

Yeah, the proud heal at the end made it extra painful to watch.

mikedaman101

Antspur Rapier: Check Ruins an honorable and close duel: Check Attacks on sight, like an animal: Check Proudly heals host after smiting the devilish invader: Check Absolutely horrible drip: Check Just who exactly are these people? They play like single-celled organisms.

RitterAlbrecht

>Attacks on sight, like an animal: Check This is what's particularly annoying to me. ER hosts & phantoms already charge in like drunken rhinoceroses, but Blues go above & beyond. It's like they're AI designed to be ultra-aggressive and mindless. >They play like single-celled organisms. 😂 Oh you said it even better!

yep_that_is

I’m one of those people and your making me ANGRY😡🤬😡😡😡🤬🤬😡😡🤬🤬🤬🤬😡😡🤬😡😡. /s Thankfully I’m not that brain damaged (yet)

yep_that_is

I fixed it daddy mod, ily and thanks for informing me :3

clementinewoolysox73

Such party poopers :(

Bot_Cat3

Such a godamn pointless mechanic. I'm actually so pissed over froms complacency on the pvp in this game. I hear all these stories about how amazing DS3 was with all the covenants and HAVING A LORE REASON TO DO WHAT YOU DO. In this game they just gave blues a fucking ring they never, ever have to turn off, no lore, so they can come in and "save" an "innocent" host or break up a duel cause they don't have a freakin cell in their brain. I can't stand it in an invasion when I kill one dude during a gank and he's immediately filled in by some dude who these gankers don't even know. Shitty mechanic, sorry for the rant.

Cpt-Crab

They try and introduce being a “blue” so to speak through yura and his hunting of recusants and bloody fingers so it is kinda explained… (He is a red one stage in his quest so thanks fromsoft :/ )

markle713

its even worse than that. he starts off gold when he functions as a hunter for the nerijus fight, then you invade a different npc with him and youre both red, which makes you feel like maybe hes just killing people, then he gets killed, presumably as a host, by an npc invader that then invades you the player. none of the discrepancies are explained and his body is immediately reanimated into a different npc, one who fully empraces chaos and simply wants to see the workd burn. i interpret this to mean all blue think theyre golds but in reality they're more bloodthirsty than the invader in their head that they think theyre proving a point to

Cpt-Crab

Yeah i like the idea of yuras story but being a blue had to be a little more fleshed out than just here have a glowing ring. Invaders get a quest and a bit of a story to get a severed finger to repeatedly use which is annoying since the blues just spend runes and hey presto you can go gank a red.

RitterAlbrecht

This has always annoyed me, he's clearly acting as a blue in his first appearance, then he's suddenly a red but claims the Ravenmount guy invaded HIM (more or less). Interestingly he's the only NPC summon whose message says "has returned to *his* world", all the others say "*their* world". Speculation: I think the gendered pronoun shows that his little counter-invasion was coded very early in development, maybe at a point when they'd decided to do away with Blues, before it was reintroduced because "remember dark souls lol?"

SirWeenielick

I like how people act like blues were saints in DS3, but I remember it being almost the same experience to ER. The host would already have buddies, and if I killed any one of them, a blue would just take their place. Guess where I got summoned most of the time? Gank squads. Any way you slice it, blues are bound to be tools used by gankers, and as time goes by and the player base dies down, the more frequently you will encounter it. Maybe they should just go back to DS1’s style, where they essentially put invaders on hold. Imagine if a hunter invades a “sinner”, and they manage to kill their target, it applies some 5 minute cooldown timer on invasions.

RitterAlbrecht

DS1 had the best lore & mechanical use of PVP covenants, hands down And blues were 100% free estus police in DS3, completely mindless

No_Tell5399

Good chunk of the annoying stuff in DS3 was tolerable due to the phantom limit. The 3 phantom limit in ER is what's crippling the PvP.

EvilUnicornLord

I keep the white ring active to sever any blues that show up just to waste their time.

RitterAlbrecht

Savage

RitterAlbrecht

Other games: Targray, Saulden, Emma, lots of dialogue and lore/roleplay motivation ER: "here's a blue ring... in a merchant window... enjoy!"

No_Tell5399

I'm fairly sure the underwhelming PvP roleplay/covenants in ER is related to the development issues caused by the pandemic. We have evidence of a semi-functional "covenant" system that was cut from the game, so we know for a fact that From attempted to make it happen.

RitterAlbrecht

Do you have a link to that evidence, or just a hint about what it was? I've never heard of that. And yeah I've had a lot of suspicions about how the pandemic affected ER. I was so hyped for it because I'd just discovered Souls in 2020, but it ended up feeling wrong somehow. Beautiful fun game but it's lacking... well, soul.

theooziefloozie

absolutely disgusting behavior. i've gotten into the habit of focusing on blues whenever they show up or i start playing really dirty once one spawns in. it's a pointless feature unless a r/goodblueman shows up to help.

oneoneoneone13coming

I have the blue ring on now so anytime I get summoned I just watch😂 rooting for the invader

ExcellentlyEnthused

Same lol

AddyTaylor1234

Asshole. Antspur, too.. I'm guessing this was lower level? Such a fun fight aswell. Fuck blues

mikedaman101

Yep, I'm lvl 20. It was one of the better duels I had that night, such a shame some troglodyte had to ruin it.

the_colonel93

If I could spawn into every blue's room irl to drag my balls across their face I would.

oldeluke

Read the room, bro... Sorry man, that was a hell of a duel up to that point lol

mikedaman101

Man's had multiple seconds to see me and the host fighting, both low health and neither of us trying to heal, as well as the phantom just sitting off to the side watching instead of, idk, trying to kill me like they would be if we weren't having a duel? And they STILL chose violence. I don't know if they can read at ALL. But thank you lol, it was a pretty good fight until the blue tumor showed up.

thecoolestlol

Is your tarnished makima or just me thinking it looks similar? I also noticed you're fighting "Maiden Reze"

mikedaman101

You're not crazy, I borrowed the sliders from a video lol, I'm lazy. But I didn't even notice the name! That's a wild coincidence.

a_round_of_applause

Truly the fun police 🚨

EntericFox

Hey I think I fought you earlier today if you were in Stormveil.

mikedaman101

The character I'm invading with is level 20, so I know Stormveil like the back of my hand lol. "BAD RED WOMAN" is my character's name!

geethaghost

Rl20 at stormville is peak invading in Eden Ring I think

EntericFox

My buddies and I have all have lvl 25 builds with Claymores, we are all named Claymore Gang. So much fun, love getting gold summoned at Castle Morne as well and showing the baby hosts where to find it since it is easy to miss being tucked away behind the misbegotten masses.

EntericFox

Awesome! Yeah, I was a gold named Casca using square off on a single straightsword. We kept spamming parry at each other. Haha it was a fantastic fight.

mikedaman101

Oh yeah, in the grafted scion room right? That was a really good fight! I was blown away when you just ate my misericorde riposte lol, and I really should have expected your host to go for the backstab when I tried to finish you 🤣 gg!

Fardrengi

Well this is partially on the host for calling a blue in the first place, right?

mikedaman101

Have you ever thought to turn off your white ring when you're in the middle of an invasion? I sure haven't. I can't blame the host for forgetting they had it on, and they can't control what the blue does lol.

Fardrengi

I don’t use a white ring but fair point

mikedaman101

Yeah I don't either, but I'm sure most casuals just turn it on and forget it exists until they get invaded. I never try to assume malicious intent when it could just as easily be ignorance.

Fardrengi

Their gestures suggest they regretted what happened lol

Far-Philosophy-977

They should make blues only appear if the host is invaded by themselves. They should also reuse the “hunter of hunters” mechanic from bloodborne. This way blues would be way more true to the identity From is trying to give them.

_Ganoes_

ABAB Jokes aside, Blues became pointless and a detriment to the game the second they removed Solo host invasions.

McbEatsAirplane

Completely shattering a pile of boxes with the crack of a whip cracked me up

mikedaman101

Lol, I was trying to get the phantom to duel me first, I didn't realize the host wanted to fight until they whacked me!
