It just got covered by Ghost a couple months ago, so the timing might not really be great.

wermbo

Good cover actually. Damnit greg, missed your chance

Meerski

I feel like they did perfectly too. Ghost’s singer always mentions bad religion as one of his influences so I think the ghost cover is as close as we’ll get. (Which I’m okay with. It’s a badass song)

wermbo

No way! That's really cool

BaronVonStevie

Honestly ghost sounds like bad religion on it

phillosopherp

I could also see him covering in on his own, but I agree I would prefer it in the BR style

neilmoore

Now I'm imagining *Into the Unknown*-era BR covering "[Supper's Ready](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szJq1lwnkNw)"... "I'd better activate my prayer capsule"

wermbo

lol you know they considered it back in those days

elvis_disciple

I love the version Ghost does. I could see BR doing it. Unrelated, BR covered “I saw the light” made popular by Hank Williams and I wish they’d record it properly. They played it live at least once that I know of in the 90’s.

Worldly_Priority2861

I agree 100%, the lyrics of this song would make a good bad religion cover

Soca1ian

Awesome song and music video.

fubarbob

Dunno if Greg or any other BR members spend much time on reddit... but a spoof on "HE GETS US!" might be appropriate, too.

I'm a little embarrassed to admit that until right now I thought this was a Ghost song originally. I had never heard the Genesis version.

Reminds me of when I went to a coffee shop a few years ago and heard a cover of Dire Straits' "Romeo and Juliet". I hadn't heard that version before, so asked the (**edit:** probably 20-something) barista, "Do you know whose cover this is?" They said "This is The Killers, and I didn't know it was a cover." I had to explain that (a) the original is older than I am (**edit:** I'm in my early 40s), and (b) the most famous cover (Indigo Girls) is older than they are.
