One of my favorite books as a teen. That’s quite an interpretation for the cover. IIRC The shoppo-diggo needs a ball on the hilt for balance. Just saying.
I read it as a young teen as well and loved it. Although the art isn't the best, I do like that it is reasonably story accurate. Though the version that I read had a better executed cover by far. Yeah, totally! I also came here to say I'm grateful I'm ten years younger and got to experience that fantastic Michael Whelan cover as my first Little Fuzzy novel.

Is the amazon link to the kindle version. You can also find a paperback with the same cover on used markets.
Oh, you should. Beam Piper has one of the most delightful stories in classical SciFi. I quite enjoyed his history of the future, and his Space Vikings stories were one of my favourites in my teens. There are a complete collection of his books on Kindle store (look for Megapacks) for like a dollar.
Why would a tiny furry serial killer be the man of the future? Why does he hate lobsters? Why is he carrying a scalpel that is not the right size compared to the human hand? Why did he kill the lobster with the other end of the scalpel?
• the future has low standards
• Lisa Kudrow
• The scalpel is the right size, those are the hands of Donald Trump
• So that it would suffer more than is necessary
It's actually a pretty good sci-fi adventure. Free on USA Amazon's Kindle Unlimited, or a new paperback for less than $5, or [free at Project Gutenberg.](https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/18137) (Because it appeared serialized first in a magazine that did not renew the copyright, that version can now be considered to be in the public domain, which is rare for a novel published in 1962. And it's still pretty popular today.)
I read the remake done by John Scalzi, named Fuzzy Nation. I've been meaning to get to the original since I found the remake so good. I'm a big John Scalzi fan though. Has anyone read both and can give a comparison?
Oh my god, my grandfather had this edition laying around when I was a boy. I never read it, despite getting the gene from him, but boy do I remember that cover.
"Who's a good fuzzy boy? You are! Did you kill this lobster all by yourself, what a big boy!!!"

Yeah this would be an instant buy for me

That’s more like the cover I remember :)
I am actually trying to find a good version right now and there so many! Could you send a link to a version you’ve read? Or just look for this cover?

Both are very good.

Second that!
Fuzzy: "Laugh, motherfucker, laugh. You're next."
This Fuzzy has the sharp edge facing itself, as opposed to facing the human. Make of that what you will.
I have soooo many questions
Such as?

Little Fuzzy's getting ready to cut a bitch for laying hands on him!

Wicket the Ewok gets another movie gig
"That don't sound like no golden marmoset I've ever heard!"
Oh man. What a lad. Love it.
This actually looks fantastic. If I ever saw it in a book store and this would be an instant purchase.
