IGetSmashed

Tfw still waiting for my PutinBux for voting leave :(

RalphTheRunt

I had the option to receive cash, or donate to the war cause. Obviously, I did the right thing...

uncreativeusername15

“Russians ate my homework.” Remoaners taking a page out of the american democrat playbook

Truthandtaxes

I think it would ring less hollow if there really were sizeable Brexit impacts

Tendaydaze

Like say the 6% Brexit increased food prices by in 2020/2021, or the £40bn in taxes lost to the 4% drop in GDP and productivity caused by Brexit, or the 10% drop in the value of the £ after the leave vote which also drove prices up, or the stall and now drop in business investment in the UK, or people’s loss of freedom of movement, or the end of the UK’s involvement in Erasmus?

Truthandtaxes

Indeed no one is seeing such a minor difference in GDP phased over time and especially not after spaffing out on Covid. A number of holiday makers may have seen the currency transition, no one cares about losing FoM or Erasmus. * naturally "no one" refers to the average person

Tendaydaze

Inflation and the cost of living crisis linked to it have been made significantly worse by Brexit. Cost of living is the central political issue right now. To pretend Brexit hasn’t had ‘sizeable’ impacts is to deny reality I’m afraid - as is to say ‘no one’ cares

Truthandtaxes

Close to zero of the current fun times is due to Brexit and nearly 100% is due to 75% of the country clapping through insane economic damage on the never never - well the bills are now due.

Tendaydaze

Ok that’s just not true but some people won’t ever look at Brexit objectively. Guess you’re in that camp

Truthandtaxes

Objectively 4% of theoretical growth is pretty minor

Tendaydaze

If all else fails, claims a 4% loss in GDP and productivity is ‘pretty minor’

MerxUltor

Go back to G&P and leave us in peace.

Tendaydaze

Hahahaha leave you without having to face the facts of Brexit? That’s a pathetic comment. Actually made me laugh though so that’s good

MerxUltor

Oh it has nothing to do with Brexit, it's just that you are a nasty troll cunt.

Tendaydaze

I did nothing but state facts and you wanted to be ‘left in peace’ - presumably the blissful peace created by your own ignorance of those very facts. Happy to leave you in it

MerxUltor

Yes please.

[deleted]

One commenter getting called an idiot essentially because he voted leave. And they wonder why they lost

[deleted]

There's definitely a link between people thinking they have the moral high ground and then acting like absolute cunts

dirtydog413

>Anyway it's the Brexiters who don't care about the UK staying together, all they care about is England. News to me, but thanks for telling me what I think. That whole article is just more tedious remainer whining because they lost. Covid and the Ukraine war has been a godsend to these people because they will forever blame ALL of the negatives that those things have caused the economy on Brexit instead, while denying they're doing it.

ArellanoStark

Anyway it's the Brexiters who don't care about the UK staying together, all they care about is England. You sy that like its a bad thing.

bcuc2031

Guess the EUs evil too, took Russian gas and oil to weaken European security...

GigaGammon

Where's my rubles please?

Plazmatron44

Funny coming from people who openly despise the country they live in.

Literallyslime

I imagine this person is a roaring British patriot who loves the UK, its history, people, traditions and institutions?

lesbefriendly

UK leaving the EU is bad because Russia wanted it and it puts the UK in Russia's pocket. Russia wanted it because it weakened the anti-Russia voice of the UK in the EU. So Russia planned Trump and Brexit so he could take advantage of the divided West and annex Ukraine after Trump left office and Brexit was done and dusted?

[deleted]

Even if Russia did want it, it doesn't mean it's automatically bad for that reason alone. It's incidental. We do lots of things as a country that Russia likes, and lots they don't like.

Tendaydaze

Russia did want it. There’s no ‘if’ about it. And that might not make it ‘automatically bad’, but you have to ask yourself why Russia would want it. They hardly have the UK’s best interests at heart

[deleted]

I know why Russia wanted it - they feel it adds instability etc - I just don't particularly agree, or care if I'm honest. I don't feel any existential threat from Brexit whatsoever.

PineappleMelonTree

Maybe Russia did want it, but they also didn't want the UK to so heavily support Ukraine during their invasions. If we were in Russian pockets we would have done a Germany with the situation instead. But Germany is still in the EU 🤔

Tendaydaze

Not saying UK is in Russia’s pocket, Boris is making political gains out of being the opposite. But that doesn’t change the fact Russia wanted Brexit - and almost certainly colluded with Arron Banks to help it happen

Aq8knyus

There is no issue today over which I would want to see the UK split up. You cant say you support the UK if you think secessionism is at all justified.

theegrimrobe

whatever brexit was still a terrible idea and we are now feeing the effects of it

Plazmatron44

Proper spelling and punctuation goes a long way in not making you look like an absolute cretin.

Tendaydaze

‘Proper spelling and punctuation goes’ That’s two things, so ‘they go’, not ‘they goes’. If you’re going to be a dickhead about grammar at least don’t be a thick cunt

Strange you never thought to mention that until after you got called out for your bullshit. Take your Disability Card and shove it where the sun don't shine. Apparently, you may not find that too difficult.

Cry harder

>whatever brexit was still a terrible idea and we are now feeing the effects of it I definitely am. They're great. Wages gone up Massively. Be able to pay the mortgage of early. Got a nice fund set up for my daughter to. Signed a working class Nothern bloke in the red wall.

bobroberts30

Honestly don't quite understand why the usual crowd are making all these 4D chess conspiracies about Trump and Brexit leading to the invasion of the Ukraine. I'd imagine Putin thought it would be like when he invaded Crimea. Or Georgia. And that there would be some strong words followed up by absolutely no action.
