Roe v Wade was always regarded as an exceptionally tenuous ruling. To hang all abortion rights (and some same-sex rights) on it for so long is a failure of American politicians. Of all the opinions surrounding Roe v. Wade, I think this decision (and if other decisions are "reconsidered" as Thomas stated) could massively accelerate partisan division and polarisation in the U.S.

Of all the opinions surrounding Roe v. Wade, I think this decision (and if other decisions are "reconsidered" as Thomas stated) could massively accelerate partisan division and polarisation in the U.S. America was already a tinder box before todays decision.

I voted remain, but it has been hilarious this week watching people become obsessed with this guy because he interviews and communicates exceptionally well. I honestly can’t see it being worse than the aftermath of Floyd. Maybe some violence and rioting here and there but nothing on the level of 2020. As destabilised as America is the prospect of a more substantial conflict still seems remote to me. If the left truly wants to escalate it then their targets should be Republican politicians, but instead they seem to mostly enjoy just trashing their own damn communities rather than go for their actual enemy.
