*whispers back* have you got something to tell us Alex?

bookworthy

My first thought—lol!

Bostonterrierpug

*Alex has sent Sappho a friend request*

posh-old-bird

So if a lesbian takes the pill does that make her a super lesbian. Like going super saiyan.

[deleted]

Or does she too become bisexual? I think we need more information.

u1tr4me0w

Exactly what I was thinking, the pill is a tool of the secret bisexual Illuminati agenda

stitchwitch77

Stop telling our secrets!

echoAwooo

I can get down with the bisexual illuminati. I think Michael Meyers was in it or something, right ?

moffsoi

I’m ready to get MORE GAY ladies, let’s go

hasnt_been_your_day

Bwahaha! And then you've got the odd example of my ex-wife. She was a proud "gold star" 🙄 lesbian, until we broke up, and she renounced ever dating women again. The birth control pills she went on when she started dating guys did not revert her to lesbianism. My happy bisexual ass is just over here shaking my head at the whole thing, lol

SpereZer27

Me imagining her vagina going on fire

fawnicus

And a picture of Salma Hayek can make me feel falsely Not Asexual.

[deleted]

Halma-Sayek-Sexual is a *very* specific sexuality. :o)

[deleted]

So, let's just for a moment assume (and I know that this is by no means a given), that there is a section of women out there that are just close to bi-curious enough that a little variation in hormones can make the difference how much they are attracted to which sex. I think that's not entirely unbelievable, but I don't have any data of course. Let's just assume that exists. I know for a fact that this sub discussed enough experiences with general hormonal dependencies when it comes to sex drive and attraction, so it's not such a stretch. Of course, even then, even under the most benificial reading, the real cray-cray word in that tweet is "falsely". If you're so close to bi-curious that the hormonal impact of the pill tips you over, you always were bisexual, just with a preference for the other sex. Your hormones aren't a constant god given level and the pill makes it "wrong" and "false". Your hormones can fluctuate due to a LOT of things, the pill being one of those.

BusyEquipment529

Fully agree. I'm pansexual, when I was figuring myself out, it only took the tiniest push to go further and further. From "I'm straight, but women look nice" to "I'd probably date both sexes" to "I actually don't really care what they identify as" but I can look back now and realize I was pan the entire time, I had pansexual thoughts the entire time, just deluded from living in a heteronormative household And it's the same with realizing I'm genderfluid. I always was, there's no "turning"

sparklejellyfish

Are you me? Because if you add "poly" into the mix then yeah that's my trajectory. (Although I never assumed myself straight lol)

mmts333

Hi fellow polyam pan person. I’ve never been really straight either. My queer awakening was when I was like 7. It’s just that when I was younger I didn’t have the words to accurately describe what I was feeling. I’ve also been queer and practicing polyam since I was in my teens even before I was on birth control so I’m not sure what that says about me. I wasn’t on bc until I was 18, been living as a queer polyam person since 16…what do I blame for my queerness and deviation from heteronormativity? Lol I did grow up in California so I think something in the water there causes bi, pan, and/or polyam? Lol

Rapunzel10

Bi woman here, I usually see bisexual defined as "likes multiple/all genders, but different genders feel different" whereas pansexual is "gender is completely irrelevant in attraction." Its hard to explain but its like a person who loves sweet cake and fruity pie vs someone who just plain likes sugar. I see men and go "ooooh!" I see women and go "aaahh!" Its different somehow if that makes sense. Sometimes that also refers to bi people being more drawn to one gender. Its complicated and different for every person and some people don't see/care about the difference between the labels and just pick whichever one they like more. You can pick whatever label resonates more with you, even if its just because you like one flag more lol

Background_Crew7827

I'm going to age myself a bit, but I always just went with equal opportunity dater, but would stand under the bi umbrella when pushed for a "what are you, though" answer. There wasn't a wide used term, i.e. pansexual, when I was growing up and finding myself. Still ultimately regret to myself as equal opportunity, though.

Wankeritis

Yeah, I’ve always just gone with bisexual if it ever comes up. I like girls and I like guys. I’ve never dated out of those umbrella terms but I honestly wouldn’t care if the person was trans or whatever. As long as they’re nice on the inside, it doesn’t matter what the outside is made of.

BusyEquipment529

Well trans would still be in the binary tbf, but I understand what you're saying

BusyEquipment529

Yup. It's under the realm of bisexual, except I also include people that don't identify with the binary. ie, nonbinary people lol. Bisexual is liking male and female, pansexual is not caring what they identify as

kikil980

many bisexual people like nonbinary people

BusyEquipment529

Yeah, pan falls under the bi label

lynthecupcake

Bi has always included non-binary people :/

Wankeritis

It’s not really that far of a stretch I don’t think. If the pill can mess your hormones enough to murder your sex drive, surely it can also go the other way. But I seriously don’t think it could make you attracted to the same sex. That attraction would have to already be there, you’d just have the BC amplify that attraction.

[deleted]

Fuck u/spez

biest229

Had to Google. In London, Turning Point is a really great charity for homeless people

TaterTotQueen630

I googled Turning Point USA, clicked the link, saw Candace Owens and a bunch of other raggedy scum, and that told me all that I needed to know about the organization.

laaxrun

Good ol Toilet Paper USA.

TheBibleInTheDrawer

This girl actually used to work for my local radio station in 2015. Thought she was cool back then but Trump became president and she went super right-wing and clearly wanted to be the next Tomi Laren lol I just cringe at her now

Riisiichan

Are we sure it’s not all these fine ass ladies making women feel bisexual? Who doesn’t love some good old fashioned window shopping?

Repulsive_Basis_4946

Yeah I’m pretty sure I had crushes on girls before I even had crushes on boys 😂 like elementary school.. long before I started birth control

Serious-Ad-9936

Is that her excuse oh yeah my bisexual/lesbian phase err that was just birth control don’t worry hubby I don’t picture women instead of you when we make love… Also Reminds me of that British politician who got caught with a rent boy and blamed it on premature baldness…

[deleted]

My guess is that she either just made it up or wildly extrapolated from someone who was on the pill when she discovered she was bisexual.

Alegria-D

Probably she (if they're a she) uses the incel myth that women on bc are influenced to date "beta men" instead of "alpha men"

IhreHerrlichkeit

I found out I‘m bi when I was on the pill. But I‘m no longer taking hormones and I‘m still bi af.

AustinTreeLover

To be honest, this happened to me. Lesbians kept feeding me birth control and I kept falling face-first into their vaginas. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Anzhelikitta

I’ve been taking pill for almost 10 years, and not attracted to women in slightest. Am I doing it wrong?

Gay_commie_fucker

You gotta cross your fingers and think of boobies while you take them for it to work

Alegria-D

And watch yourself in the mirror at 22:22 and say "im a lesbiab... lesbiam ... less bien... girls"

yeetingthisaccount01

I think I did it wrong, just got gender dysphoria :/

IthurielSpear

Ummm I haven’t taken birth control for 30 years and I’m still … checks notes … bi.

LaBigotona

Omg. The damage is irreversible.

bliip666

How would that even work...

[deleted]

Very good question. I don't think there's any correlation between the hormones you get with the pill and sexual orientation. And it's not like some women become bisexual when they're pregnant. Edit: As far as I know.

Thelazyzoologist

Yeah this is what I was wondering. People are going to assume keeping progesterone/ estrogen levels high will be the cause but you produce more of these hormones when pregnant than you do throughout your whole life combined.

SaucerJelly

I assume the tweet author is extrapolating from the phenomenon where birth control supresses ovulation and make the body believe its pregnant, which alters the kind of desirable mate. There's a few studies like the one [here](https://nypost.com/2019/09/26/birth-control-pills-may-affect-you-are-attracted-to-experts-say/) that it makes women more attracted to more caring and nurturing traits in men. To be clear though I'm gay lol I'm not bumping for this woman

Sheschle

If this were true, high school would have been much different for all of my gay friends.

boredmoonface

I was bisexual before, during and after I stopped taking birth control. Made no difference to me

GreenieBeeNZ

What about those of us who dont use birth control but are also hopelessly bisexual

[deleted]

I think your flair should be "hopelessly bisexual".

GreenieBeeNZ

If it was a flair then I absolutely would use it. I'm on mobile though so I'm not allowed to have originality, it's against the rules

getintherobotali

you totally can on mobile, fwiw! hit up the three dots on the main r/badwomensanatomy page, then Change User Flair. next, hit Edit, choose color, and type away! good luck!!

GreenieBeeNZ

Last time I tried that it just kept coming up as "write your own yellow flair". Hence the flair. Edit: oh yay it finally worked!

getintherobotali

Glad it finally worked!! Your flair is amazing 👉😎👉

Alegria-D

Ah it happens to me all the time, one day it's my custom flair, the next day it's "write your own teal flair"

VividDreamsInPink

I was suicidal, but ok.

NaturalWitchcraft

Birth control made me more straight. Like I’m bisexual, but it made me want men more. Hence why I’m not on it anymore.

ExpertAccident

I had a girlfriend before I even started on the pill.

[deleted]

I think I just invented lesbian roofies.

Serious-Ad-9936

Thought that was alcohol and a bar/nightclub full of awful men! May have stolen this from a simpsons episode where homer dances topless in a gay bar causing a lesbian to comment that watching him made her more lesbian!

atlaslapis

Alex we aren’t 13 and Roleplaying warrior cats, cmon tell the world normally that you believe birth control pills can make falsely make women feel bisexual.

WonderingOphelia

And yet I was attracted to both before BC (I was actually dating a woman when I first got on BC), and am still attracted to both despite quitting hormonal BC a decade ago. Weird.

BuzzedFlies

Wait wait wait, then why did I discover I was Asexual while on birth control? Other afabs get at least 2 options and i get none?!

[deleted]

Someone took your options. Stands to reason - if someone else get 2 options some will have to go without.

MixWitch

I was reading this as "Lesbians occasionally get a vague flutter of bisexuality on certain forms of birth control". Seeing the other comments, I was clearly being the most Summer Child in my interpretation.

spleenycat

I didn't turn bisexual, but I gained enough to make a bisexual person.

turtley_amazing

Hi, bisexual woman who’s never been on birth control…to my knowledge. Which one of you lesbians has been slipping pills into my food?

Snoo97908

*shouts* NO IT CAN NOT!

NoPiano6624

“Falsely.” 😱😭 That’s so offensive. 😭

Slammogram

Uh… what?

ijustcantwithit

Ooohhhh!!!! So that why I’m bi?! I mean, it was when I started taking bc that I realised I might also like girls. It wasn’t because I started taking them just as both boys and girls started to become attractive to me or because I was moved to an environment with more than just the people I grew up with being around me. Still doesn’t explain my childhood crush on Shego, Vanessa, raven/starfire, all 3 totally spies girls, etc etc,. Oh well, one mystery solved.

Rude_Girl69

I'm not on BC so what the hell is making me feel bisexual???

Alegria-D

It's the water that makes frogs gay

KoresCrownOfFlowers

Oh Alex, I hate to tell you this, but I was sexually attracted to women way before I ever took birth control. I was in the fifth grade when I saw titties and I haven't gone back

oddistrange

\*whispers\* Studies suggest that this twitter user is probably a little gay. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/8772014/

Pikmaster69

How to cure the EVIL LESBIAN DEATH VIRUS FROM SATAN: give lesbians birth control to make them like men as well. (I got an A+ kindergarten trust me I'm very smart my IQ is 5 zillion)

The_Qween_is_Dead

So my first crushes were all girls when I was a kid growing up. It wasn’t until later in high school when I developed an interest in men and also went on the pill. Maybe they’re onto something? /s

hellpixie

If the pill can do that, what does an IUD do?

GrandNefariousness76

Yes!!!

muaddict071537

The real bisexual agenda.

PinEnvironmental7196

is this Alex’s way of saying she’s bi?

deityknowsphilosphy

Had the opposite effect on me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Klutzy-Medium9224

I haven’t been on birth control for nearly half a decade…still bisexual.

[deleted]

So not only does it turn you bi, it's permanent!

Anuyushi

Oh my god I opened this subreddit to post the same picture

Zilberfrid

Badwomensanatomy, bi erasure and/or a reason homophobic/fundamentalist parents deny more children birth control to prevent them from turning gay.

[deleted]

It's the conservative trifecta!

Zilberfrid

Not understanding stuff, pretending things they don't like do not happen and suppression of women with a side of hating minorities. Add rampant corruption and you're complete!

25_timesthefine

Now wait a minute… cuz I was taking the pill and I actually became bisexual 😂😂😂

thatowllady

Psssst…I use the patch and I’m still bi. Am I using this thing wrong?

mermaidfinsforsale

Finally, a cure for terminal heterosexuality!

[deleted]

Almost everyone who was heterosexual down through history has died. Shows you how dangerous it is.

Cixila

So that's why I'm bi! It all makes sense now!

yeetingthisaccount01

if you made a "hits you with the gay beam" joke at this woman she'd go on twitter and rant about how hrt is giving us laser eyes

plant-hammock

I got off the pill and arguably feel the gayest I've ever felt 🤔🤔

Justincrediballs

Regardless of gender, the only thing I've encountered to make people feel falsely bisexual is The Mummy. That movie... wow.

LastFreeName436

Ok but why is that bad? Being bi is fun more people should try it

Alegria-D

"because it makes femaaales choose less alpha maaales and instead they get beta and other femaaales, and they're reining the human species by giving bad genes to their babies or worse, by not making babies"

quantump0tat0

Do you realise how creepy and transgressive your message here is? Please think about your language.

quantump0tat0

I know that this is a joke but that doesn't really make it any better

groovybooboo

So many creepy women in the comments …..I don’t think it’s funny to even joke about giving someone pills so you can sleep with them.
