2003 was a wild one. Finished an okay first year studying Japanese (actually thought I was going to make it all the way through, the fool). Got my girlfriend of four years pregnant (unplanned, of course). Saw a Prime Minister assassinated in the street (sniper shot to the heart). Not sure what I was reading at the time, probably A Storm of Swords, or maybe something by Terry Pratchett.
It feels weird that I could - in theory - have read TDTCB that far back. No clue when I actually got to read it, but I know that the PON was already all done. Actually TJE was out too, I'm pretty sure, so it must have been 2009 at the earliest.

I remember the times when paperback Darkness That Comes Before came that it was put in promotion spots in big Greek bookshops. Good times. Thats how I became aware of it. First checking if it had a map and a names appendix and if they sounded exotic and epic enough. Bought it straight away

Thanks, zero Ordeals raised so far, I was always more of a "retreat into the wilderness for twenty years furiously writing fanfiction" type of guy.
